Head Graphene 360 Alpha Pro 2019/2020

Head Graphene 360 Alpha Pro is the racket choice of world’s number one player on World Padel Tour, Sanyo Gutierrez’s.

Head Graphene 360 Alpha Pro

Introduction

The racket has a teardrop shape, medium balance and a sweet spot located slightly above the center of the impact surface. The difference with the predecessor is that Head now uses the new material Graphene 360. It reduces vibrations at the impact for a more forgiving and more comfortable feel. The new material also gives the racket better control than before.

Head Graphene 360 Alpha Pro 2019/2020 first impressions

The first impression is that this is a great looking padel racket with its sober and elegant design. The first sensation on the padel court is that it’s an easy-to-play and well-balanced racket that suits many different players.

Head Graphene 360 Alpha Pro 2019/2020 on the padel court

Graphene 360 Alpha Pro offers good control and speed in the defensive game. The relatively large sweet spot makes it forgiving to play with. The teardrop shape in combination with the medium balance helps to generate good power in volleys, bandejas and smashes. Vibrations are reduced in an effective way, which makes it a relatively gentle racket to play with.

Head Graphene 360 Alpha Pro 2019/2020 overall impression

Overall, this racket offers an impressive combination of speed, precision, and feel. It’s a great alternative for players looking for a racket that rewards all-court play. However, we miss some kind of texture on the impact surface that helps to generate spin. Hopefully, we will see this in upcoming versions of this model. The design spot on and the price a fair. Highly recommended.

How Does the Head Alpha Pro perform?

Sanyo's Head Graphene 360 Alpha Pro is one of the most popular rackets due to its versatility, control, and beautiful design . It has a medium balance and helps players with precision shots. This racket suits a majority of intermediate players' games , unless they are looking for something lightweight or very powerful. It's generous sweet spot will help you with off-center shots.

Our test of the Head Alpha Pro

Expert reviews of the head alpha pro.

Need to have a intermediate advanced level to enjoy the racket properly, can be technical. For example, I found it difficult to maintain deep lobs.

Easy to manage and it absorbs vibrations very well

Great level of control and sensitivity

Very wide sweet spot

Best for players of intermediate-advanced level looking for a comfortable, maneuverable medium touch racket with medium balance and a large sweet spot

High ball output delivers strong volleys, but can result in shooting balls at the glass if you’re not careful. Bandejas went out like missiles.

It has a very nice balance, less in the head than previous version, which helps with maneuverability. I liked it a lot in the serves, you can feel the maneuverability, the racket doesn’t feel like it stays behind you

Very large sweet spot, wherever you hit the ball, the rackets responds well

With its high weight (373g with overgrip) and its 27cm balance, this is not a maneuverable racket. Medium hard touch. It doesn’t have a high ball output, you need to use proper form to pass the ball.

Power comes out really well for me. Head says that it has low power, but it doesn’t have low power for me.

In bandejas and viboras, you feel the weight, the pull back feels a bit slow, but then the ball goes where you want it to go.

Best for an advanced player with excellent technique, it’s definitely not super powerful. The shape makes it more aggressive and technical, I think it could have been nice as a round-shaped racket with a lower balance. As it is, it has an excellent feeling, but it’s not very easy to use.

It’s powerful, but not super.

It’s not the most maneuverable - it has a high balance, weighs around 375g.

It’s strong in its touch. It plays like a glove. I recommend it to players who don’t have a strong arm so they use their handling to control the point (like Sanyo).

A multipurpose racket intended for a large number of players, especially those who like the control game or are transition players.

Without proper technique can go to the glass if the bandejas or viboras are very heavy since the rubber core makes a small rebound effect on the ball.

At the bottom of the court, we notice how big the sweet spot of the shovel is, greatly facilitating off-center blows and serving, its incredible ball output.

#1 product for experienced players looking for a versatile high performing racket, introduction to the head graphene 360 alpha pro padel racket, brief overview of the sport of padel and its popularity.

Padel , a racquet sport that originated in Mexico, has been gaining immense popularity worldwide in recent years. Combining elements from tennis and squash, padel is played on a smaller court surrounded by glass walls, with players using solid paddles to hit a pressurized ball over the net.

The sport’s dynamic nature, strategic gameplay, and accessibility have captivated both beginners and seasoned athletes alike. What sets padel apart from other racket sports is its emphasis on teamwork.

Unlike tennis or squash where players rely solely on their individual skills, padel encourages collaboration as it is usually played in doubles format. This adds an exciting social aspect to the game and fosters a sense of camaraderie among players.

Explanation of Why the Graphene 360 Alpha Pro Is a Highly Anticipated Racket

The Graphene 360 Alpha Pro by Head has generated significant buzz within the padel community, and for good reason. This racket has been carefully designed to meet the demands of professional players and enthusiasts who seek ultimate control, power, and maneuverability on the court. One of the key features that make the Graphene 360 Alpha Pro highly anticipated is its incorporation of Graphene 360 technology.

Head’s innovative use of graphene – a super-lightweight and ultra-strong material – strategically reinforces different parts of the racket frame to optimize energy transfer during each shot. This results in enhanced power and stability, allowing players to hit more penetrating shots while maintaining control over their strokes.

Moreover, Head has taken meticulous care in crafting the Alpha Pro’s construction with precision. The combination of high-quality carbon fiber materials and a foam core ensures optimal weight distribution for effortless swings without compromising on durability.

These features contribute to making the Graphene 360 Alpha Pro an exciting prospect for padel enthusiasts who are eager to take their game to new heights. Stay tuned for the next sections where we delve deeper into the design, performance features, user experience, and comparisons with other leading rackets in a similar price range!

Design and Construction of the Head Graphene 360 Alpha Pro Padel Racket

Overview of the racket's shape, weight, and balance for optimal performance.

When it comes to padel rackets , the shape, weight, and balance play a crucial role in determining a player’s performance on the court. The Head Graphene 360 Alpha Pro Padel Racket is designed with meticulous attention to these aspects. Its shape falls into the teardrop category which offers an ideal balance between power and control.

This shape allows for a larger sweet spot on the racket head, increasing the chances of hitting powerful shots even if you don’t strike the ball perfectly. In terms of weight distribution, this racket hits a sweet spot itself.

It is slightly head-heavy, meaning that most of its weight is concentrated towards the head of the racket . This distribution enhances power in your smashes while still maintaining control during softer shots .

The overall weight of this racket is also carefully optimized to strike a balance between maneuverability and stability. It weighs approximately 365 grams (unstrung), making it light enough to swiftly react to fast-paced exchanges while providing enough stability for those decisive shots at the net.

Discussion on the use of Graphene 360 technology in enhancing power and stability

The Head Graphene 360 Alpha Pro Padel Racket takes advantage of cutting-edge technology by incorporating Graphene 360 into its construction. This innovative material revolutionizes how energy is transferred throughout the racket during ball impact.

By strategically placing graphene within key areas of the frame, it allows for better energy transfer from your swing to the ball. Graphene is an incredibly strong yet lightweight material that provides exceptional stability without compromising maneuverability.

In simpler terms, it means that when you swing with this racket, you can expect increased power behind your shots while still maintaining control over the ball. This advanced technology helps players achieve optimal stability and control, giving them a competitive edge on the padel court.

The Head Graphene 360 Alpha Pro Padel Racket is constructed with top-notch materials to ensure durability, performance, and overall playing experience. It features a carbon fiber frame that not only provides excellent rigidity for power but also enhances the racket’s responsiveness. The carbon fiber material adds strength to the racket while keeping it relatively lightweight, ensuring that you don’t feel fatigued during long matches.

Another noteworthy component is its foam core. The racket incorporates a soft yet high-density EVA foam core that works in tandem with the carbon frame to improve touch and control without compromising power.

This combination allows for exceptional shot precision and comfortable handling throughout your game. Overall, the thoughtfully designed shape, well-balanced weight distribution, utilization of Graphene 360 technology, as well as high-quality materials like carbon fiber and foam core make the Head Graphene 360 Alpha Pro Padel Racket an outstanding choice for players seeking optimal performance on the court.

Exploration of its Maneuverability and Responsiveness

Unleashing your padel skills requires a racket that feels like an extension of your arm, responding to your every move with lightning-fast reflexes. The Head Graphene 360 Alpha Pro Padel Racket truly excels in this department. Its design and construction allow for exceptional maneuverability and responsiveness, enabling players to execute quick shots at various angles effortlessly.

One key factor contributing to the racket’s unmatched maneuverability is its balanced weight distribution. The engineers at Head have carefully optimized the weight distribution of the Alpha Pro, ensuring that it feels light in your hand while maintaining stability during intense rallies.

This balance allows you to swiftly change direction and react swiftly to fast-paced shots, giving you invaluable control over the game. Additionally, the Alpha Pro’s shape plays a crucial role in enhancing its maneuverability and responsiveness.

With a slightly teardrop-shaped head, this racket allows for precise handling and agility, making it easier for players to adapt their strokes according to different situations on the court. Whether it’s executing those delicate drop shots or powerful smashes from baseline to net, you can rely on this racket for unparalleled maneuverability.

Examination of its Power Potential

This expanded sweet spot ensures more forgiveness on off-center hits while maintaining impressive power output. Moreover, Head has fine-tuned the weight distribution of this racket through extensive research and development.

By carefully redistributing the weight throughout the frame, they have achieved a perfect harmony between power and maneuverability. This means that you get exceptional power without sacrificing control or maneuverability, giving you the confidence to unleash your most potent shots without any compromises.

Evaluation of its Control through Unique Surface Texture

Precision and control are paramount when it comes to executing accurate shots in padel. The Head Graphene 360 Alpha Pro Padel Racket takes these aspects seriously with its unique surface texture, which enhances grip and control like never before.

The racket’s textured surface allows for enhanced ball bite, ensuring that each shot stays firmly on the strings for maximum control. Whether you’re aiming for those sharp cross-court shots or delicate lobs over your opponent’s head, this texture enables you to achieve the desired spin and accuracy required for such shots with ease.

With the Alpha Pro in hand, you can be confident that your shots will precisely reach their intended targets while reducing the risk of unwanted errors. The Head Graphene 360 Alpha Pro Padel Racket is a true performer when it comes to maneuverability, power potential, and control.

Its design elements such as balanced weight distribution, larger sweet spot, and unique surface texture work in harmony to elevate your padel game to new heights. Whether you’re a seasoned professional seeking an edge on the court or an enthusiastic recreational player looking to enhance your skills, this racket is undoubtedly worth considering.

HEAD padel racket review van de Graphene 360+ Alpha Motion

head alpha tour review

Specificaties

Merk: HEAD Dikte: 38 mm Niveau: Gevorderd Vorm: Druppelvorm Gewicht: 365 gram Eva / Foam: Eva Soft Rubber Speltype: Gebalanceerd

Head Graphene 360+ Prestige Tour Racket Review

Oh, the classic Prestige - one of Head’s oldest racket lines, and a fairly legendary racket.

This range recently got Head’s latest update, with Graphene 360+ technology, and we took the chance to playtest the Head Graphene 360+ Prestige Tour.

This racket is a world away from the traditional Prestige that many people associate with Marat Safin, but it does retain some of the great virtues of control and precision, whilst offering much more friendly maneuverability.

Custom Fittings

Discover your perfect racket and string combo!

At 305g unstrung, and with a 99 sq inch frame, this stick is much easier to play with than the Prestige Mid, opening it up to a wide variety of players.

As always with a Prestige racket, you’re in for plenty of control and feel, but with modern maneuverability that really allows you to swing through the ball.

We were big fans of the old version of this racket , but hopefully, the Graphene 360+ technology would add that extra bit of stability, and turn this racket into a serious threat.

Looking at the specs, you can see Prestige Tour is going to be competing with rackets like the Wilson Blade 98 and Babolat Pure Strike , so it does have some stiff competition.

To make it stand out though, Head has opted for a slightly unusual 18 x 19 string pattern, which should fall somewhere in the middle of a normal 16 x 19 and 18 x 20.

We took the Head Graphene 360+ Prestige Tour out with a string setup of Head Sonic Pro at 52lbs.

This string setup should suit the control-oriented nature of the Prestige and allow us to swing through with plenty of confidence.

Groundstrokes

8.5 out of 10

The new Prestige Tour might look very modern, but it still has some of that classic control and feel these rackets are known for.

When you combine this control with a racket that swings extremely fast, you’ve got a recipe for some big strokes.

If there’s one complaint I would have it’s that this racket does lack a little bit of stability if I compare it to the Pure Strike, but otherwise, I think you have a very good racket.

The 18 x 19 string pattern leans towards control, but it still manages to give you a bit of pop and some reasonable spin potential.

This was particularly useful on my backhand side, where I don’t get as much action on the ball, and I was really pleased with how I was able to keep hitting deep and stop my opponent from attacking.

This set me up nicely to get play onto my forehand side, where I was able to make the most of the control and precision of the Prestige by really attacking the ball.

I always picture Prestige rackets in the hands of aggressive players, and I do think those are the kinds of players this Prestige Tour is best suited to.

At 305g it’s light enough to work for younger players as well as older players, and the easy maneuverability really allows you to attack the ball.

Although I enjoyed playing on the front foot, the Head Prestige Tour doesn’t let you down when you’re scrambling around on defense either.

You’ve got to hit through the ball to keep it deep, but it encourages you to do this with its easy playability.

We were impressed with the Head Graphene 360+ Prestige Tour from the back of the court.

It’s much easier to play with than traditional Prestige rackets, meaning more people can enjoy the precision and control of this stick.

We gave it an 8.5 out of 10 from the back of the court.

If you’re someone who spends a lot of time at the net and you want a racket around the 305g weight, then you can’t go too wrong with the Head Prestige Tour .

The blend of maneuverability, control, and precision works really well at the net and allows you to feel comfortable, even on the most difficult volleys.

I generally like to volley with something a little bit heavier than this stick, but it’s hard to find negatives given it’s a 305g racket.

It could possibly benefit from a little bit more stability, but other than that, it’s got everything you need.

The feel on this racket is so soft, which allows you to play the most delicate shots with real confidence.

When you’re forced to play those difficult pick up volleys you can guide the ball back into court, giving you a platform to start attacking from.

Of the Prestige range, I would probably say the Tour is the most groundstrokes oriented racket, but it still does a very good job at the net.

Whether you come to the net infrequently, or you love to get there as quickly as possible, this racket has all the tools you need to volley well.

We gave the Head Graphene 360+ Prestige Tour an 8.5 out of 10 at the net.

8 out of 10

The serve is an area where I find the Prestige can lack a little bit of pop.

It seems you need to have a very good action, and plenty of power to be able to get the most out of this stick on serve.

However, if there is one Prestige racket that’s slightly easier to serve with then it’s the Tour.

The main reason for this is the fact that the Prestige Tour is that little bit lighter, so it’s easier to get some racket head speed to produce the power you need.

With the heavier Mid racket, it always feels like you’re laboring to get the racket moving, but you don’t have the same problems with the Tour.

This allows you to get your technique right, and although it isn’t the most spin or power friendly racket, there is enough to be found to turn your serve into a threat.

I particularly enjoyed the control aspect of this racket, allowing me to get good precision, particularly when I was hitting my slice serve out wide.

I find it’s easy to get too much slice on this and the ball ends up doing nothing, but the balance of the Prestige Tour felt just right for me.

All in all, I thought the Graphene 360+ Prestige Tour did pretty well on the serve and I gave it an 8 out of 10.

Based on the rest of the playtest, I was pretty sure the Prestige Tour would offer a good package for returning.

It’s got the speed, control, and precision that I enjoy when taking on the return, and I used it to good effect.

It’s another area where I could have perhaps used a touch more stability, but other than that, I really liked what I got with this stick.

It’s especially nice on second serves, where you’ve got a little bit more time and can take big aggressive swings at the ball but it served me pretty well on first serve returns too.

Control is the first thing I look for when it comes to returning – that last thing you want is to be pinging the ball long every time.

Luckily, when it comes to 305g rackets, there are few options that offer better control than the Head Graphene 360+ Prestige Tour.

We gave this stick another great score of 8.5 for the return.

The big question with updated rackets is always is better than the previous version.

I always find the answer is normally – yes it’s slightly better. In general, good rackets remain good and not so good rackets remain not so good.

That’s exactly the case with the Head Graphene 360+ Prestige Tour.

The Graphene 360+ technology makes this racket a little bit more arm friendly, but other than that, it’s really more of the same and that’s a good thing.

We love the idea of a 305g racket that offers classic control, feel, and precision and that’s what the Prestige Tour does.

It’s fast through the swing, which allows you to swing through with lots of confidence and really go after your shots.

It excels from the back of the court, but it’s extremely comfortable at the net as well, so it’s ideal for players who have an all-round game.

I think the main thing is it opens the Prestige up to players who love control and precision, but don’t want a heavy, more cumbersome racket, and that makes it a very nice option.

We gave the Head Graphene 360+ Prestige Tour an 8.5 out of 10.

HEAD Experimental Tour Preview

head alpha tour review

I have been testing a new string from HEAD called HEAD Experimental Tour. It will be released in January as “Lynx Tour” (as far as I know).

HEAD Experimental Tour is a champagne-colored string with a hexagonal profile. It plays with a nice blend of control and spin. Some players who have tested this string have called it quite soft and powerful, while I think it is more crisp and controlled – similar to a Luxilon 4G. But it often depends on what racquets you test a string with. I have been playing around with this string for a couple of months in racquets such as my HEAD LM Radical Tour, the HEAD Gravity Pro, and a Prestige.

Not a string for beginners…

If you like control-oriented, firm strings, I am pretty sure you will like the HEAD Experimental Tour. In a softer racquet, it firms up the string bed just enough and gives you a crisp, controlled and spin-friendly feel. In a stiffer string bed, for example in a tighter 18×20 string bed, I think it can get a bit stiff. I would then use it as a hybrid with a multifilament string such as HEAD Velocity MLT.

If you are a beginner or early intermediate player, my recommendation would not be to use a full bed of polyester (monofilament) strings at all but to look at hybrid options or a more control-oriented multifilament. But if you are an advanced player and you need a string to provide you with a nice, crisp feel, good control, and spin, HEAD Experimental Tour is as good as they get.

How it plays

head alpha tour review

I like this string best in a full bed on a softer racquet such as the HEAD Gravity Tour or Pro (click the link for my review). I also used it in my heavily-leaded up Babolat Soft Drive and it played great. In a tighter string bed such as my 95 sq inch Radical Tour , I would go with a softer multifilament in the mains and the Experimental Tour in the crosses. Then you get a softer response, but still sufficient control and spin.

Hi Tenisnerd. I am sorry not for the subject, but I would like to advise you on a certain issue. I recently bought Prince Textreme Tour 100 310g. The racquet is !great outside of volles. I added 3 grams at 9 and 3 grams at 3 (total 6 grams). Unfortunately, I still have a lot of dirty volleys. What would you advise to feel better at the volleys? Thank you in advance and best regards

Hi Martin, I think I replied to you on another post. Not sure really what you can do perhaps besides considering another racquet. I think the racquet volleyed fine, but racquets that volley better: HEAD Gravity Pro Wilson Blade 98 V7 Tecnifibre TF40.

Regards / J

Hi Jonas, Have you ever tried the Oehms Black Pearl Rough 1.21? Considering your arm and elbow issues, mine all went away playing with this string. And it also plays great! Kind of muted and I can play without a dampener. I prefer it over all the polys (Alu Power, 4g, Ace, Ice/Black code, Hyper G, Cream, Velocity MLT…) that I’ve tried. It’s also very cheap. Well, I’m playing it in my Prince Phantom Pro 93p 18×20 and I love it. Coming from the Head Prestige 600 after a 20 year break, there was no other option but this racquet… haha. I’m back to full competition. I really dig it. It really feels very natural in my hands whereas the bigger sq inch racquets do not.

Best regards from Germany.

Hi Zeki, I haven’t tried Black Pearl Rough, so I will put that on the list!

The Prince 93P is a great stick! Enjoy and good luck / Jonas

Z.K. got to hit with the Oehms Alu Pearl Rough 1.21 at 23kg with the Diadem Nova FS 100 just yesterday. It’s maybe the best string I’ve played so far. I want to play a few more hours of course, but first feedback is great. It doesn’t feel rough (?!). Exceptional control in all my shots.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Colombia trip was heavily criticized, but it's part of a winning strategy

  • Prince Harry and Meghan Markle visited Colombia at the invitation of Vice President Francia Marquez.
  • The trip marked their second international tour of 2024.
  • Harry and Meghan made clear for years that championing international causes is a passion for them.

Insider Today

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wrapped up their latest international trip on Sunday.

The couple went to Colombia at the invitation of the nation's vice president, Francia Márquez, and they spoke at the Responsible Digital Future Summit at Universidad Ean on August 15.

Their visit to Colombia marked their second international tour of the year, following their trip to Nigeria in May.

Harry and Meghan received backlash for both trips in UK tabloids, with some outlets questioning why the couple is going on trips that look a lot like royal tours despite stepping back as working royals in 2020.

But looking back at their time as working royals together and their individual lives highlights that international service trips are nothing unusual for Harry or Meghan.

Representatives for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did not respond to a request for comment from Business Insider.

Harry and Meghan have a long history of international work

Royal commentator Kristen Meinzer told Business Insider that international trips with a service focus aren't new for Harry or Meghan.

As a member of the royal family, Harry spent his entire life accompanying his parents on royal tours, and as an adult, he served in the Royal Air Force, which also took him around the globe. He is also the founding patron of the Invictus Games , which occur in a different country yearly.

Meanwhile, Meghan studied international relations at Northwestern in addition to theater, and she worked with global organizations like World Vision , One Young World, and even the United Nations before she became a royal.

Related stories

"Before they were even together, they both had a passion for charity and philanthropy and making goodwill visits to other countries," Meinzer said. "It's something that Harry was trained to do his whole life."

"And I think it's interesting that when other people like George Clooney or Beyoncé do the same kind of thing, they aren't raked over the coals," Meinzer said of Harry and Meghan's international advocacy.

As working royals, Harry and Meghan went on multiple royal tours together, where they flexed their ability to connect with communities in other countries.

For instance, Harry said it was "effortless" for Meghan to connect with locals on their 2018 royal tour of Australia, and they both appeared more relaxed during their 2019 tour of Africa compared to other royals on similar trips.

As they revealed in their docuseries "Harry & Meghan," the Duke and Duchess of Sussex hoped they could continue serving as working royals outside the UK by relocating to a commonwealth nation like New Zealand, South Africa, or Canada instead of stepping down in 2020.

"We thought it would be good to give ourselves some breathing space, but also we were really passionate about continuing our work throughout the Commonwealth, to support the Queen," Harry said on the series.

Harry said their 2019 move to South Africa was scrapped after details of the plan were published in The Times . Subsequently, Harry's email proposal to move to Canada was leaked to The Sun in January 2020. A day after the story was published, Harry and Meghan announced they were stepping back as senior royals .

By June 2020, the two had settled in Montecito, California, where they now raise their two children.

These trips aren't designed to promote the Commonwealth, but they do serve a purpose

When they went on international trips together as working royals, Harry and Meghan were ambassadors for the Commonwealth. Today, they promote causes they are passionate about when they visit.

"I think that something else that's a little bit off about the narrative is a lot of the tabloid media is trying to depict them as like, 'Oh, they're just trying to pretend they're still royal,'" Meinzer said. "But they're actually going to these places upon invitation."

For instance, Márquez invited Harry and Meghan to Colombia to discuss how to create a "healthier and more ethical digital landscape," as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared on their website , and they visited Nigeria in May because the country has expressed interest in hosting the Invictus Games .

"They're not doing anything that is inflammatory by accepting invitations to raise the public awareness of certain causes," Meinzer added. "It's just a non-issue."

Despite the tabloid criticism of their international trips, the visits offer a new path for Harry and Meghan, who have struggled to find long-term momentum in their media ventures, as Business Insider previously reported.

Indeed, Evan Nierman, the CEO and founder of the global PR firm Red Banyan , told BI that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's tell-alls about the royal family — from their Netflix series to Harry's memoir "Spare" — don't pack the same punch anymore .

But international diplomacy is Meghan and Harry's bread and butter. Whether the UK tabloid press agrees, leaning into a skillset and a passion they both have is the right move for them.
