Teapot Traveling Salesman Genshin Impact

The Genshin Impact Teapot Traveling Salesman is a new vendor in Update 1.5 that appears every so often in your realm, and they’ll sell all manners of rare things for your home. The trouble is, of course, that players don’t know much about the new salesman. When and where can you find them? How do they work, and what do they sell? We’ll do our best to answer these questions in our Teapot Traveling Salesman Genshin Impact guide.

Genshin Impact Teapot Traveling Salesman location

As we’ve said, the Teapot Traveling Salesman is a new vendor that will appear in your Serenitea Pot realm . He will visit your realm every weekend, and he’ll have all sorts of rare furnishing blueprints , materials, and furnishings. The salesman will be visiting your abode during the weekend. The official info is that they should arrive at 4:00 AM every Friday and leave at 4:00 AM on the Monday of the next week.

Now, one very important thing to know about the new salesman is that they bring different items to different Travelers. So, from 4:00 AM every Saturday to 4:00 AM on Monday, you can go ahead and visit other people’s realms to see what the vendor is offering them. In fact, there’s even a new Battle Pass Mission that will require you to purchase two items from the teapot salesman in another player’s Serenitea Pot . So, yeah, the Genshin Impact Teapot Traveling Salesman is fairly multi-faceted. The whole thing will encourage playing with other people, which is neat.

One more thing I really want to bring up: the traveling vendor will offer pets. Yes, really, you can see it in the screenshot above. Apparently, you won’t have to feed them or anything. They’re just there to truly make a house a home. Granted, we don’t know for sure what the salesman will have on offer this week, but I love knowing that it’ll be an option at some point. They are relatively expensive, but I’d say worth it!

Genshin Impact: Where to Find the Teapot Traveling Salesman (Chubby)

Image of Zhiqing Wan

With the release of update 1.5 in Genshin Impact , players are now able to make use of a new gadget called the Serenitea Pot which lets them decorate their own personal space and housing area. It provides a whole new grind for players to engage with, as there are tons of furnishing blueprints to pick up and learn. Here’s where to find the teapot traveling salesman in Genshin Impact .

Finding the Teapot Traveling Salesman in Genshin Impact

I know Destiny 2 is a bit of a weird comparison to make here, but bear with me. Just like Xur in Destiny 2, Genshin Impact is now getting its very own weekly salesman, the Teapot Traveling Salesman. Instead of selling you rare exotic gear, though, this salesman will sell rare furnishings and blueprints.

Named Chubby, he looks pretty similar to Tubby and will appear every Friday at 4 a.m. server time, and leave on Monday, 4 a.m. server time. He’ll show up in your housing realm, and you can find his icon on your map as shown below.

Where as Tubby gets a blue teapot icon on the map, Chubby’s icon is distinguished by the yellow color instead.

One more thing that’s worth noting is that the items that Chubby has for sale are different for each traveler. This means that you can visit other players’ worlds and see what their Chubby is selling. This is a good way to quickly collect blueprints and craft more furnishings in a shorter span of time.

That’s all you need to know about where to find the teapot traveling salesman , Chubby, in Genshin Impact. Be sure to check our guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.

Genshin Impact: Serenitea Pot — The Traveling Salesman and new items

Image of Jason Rodriguez

There’s a popular FPS game that happens to have a weekly vendor — it’s Destiny 2 and the NPC’s name is Xur. The tentacle-faced vendor arrives each weekend, spawning every Friday and leaving on Monday. Now, it looks like Genshin Impact has its own version of Xur. Here’s our Genshin Impact Serenitea Pot guide to help you with the Traveling Salesman, Chubby, and the new items he has for sale.

Note: For more information, check out our Genshin Impact guides and features hub . You can also visit our main guide for the Serenitea Pot player home system, as well as our version 1.5 overview .

Genshin Impact : Serenitea Pot guide – The Traveling Salesman’s new items

The Traveling Salesman appears in your Serenitea Pot abode in Genshin Impact every Friday at 4 a.m, and he’ll stick around until Monday at 3:59 a.m (prior to the weekly reset). Don’t forget to take note of the reset times which are dependent on a particular timezone for your chosen server.

Anyway, in my case, I chose the Cool Isle realm and the Traveling Salesman spawned at the upper-right corner of the map.

Genshin Impact Serenitea Pot Guide Traveling Salesman 1

Upon visiting the fella, Chubby, I was shown several furnishings that cost Realm Currency:

  • Northland Hound – 100 (limited to one purchase)
  • Forest Boar – 100 (limited to one purchase)
  • Sub-space Boulder: Verdant Peak – 40 (limited to six purchases)
  • Sub-space Boulder: Slumbering Stratus – 40 (limited to six purchases)

Assuming you don’t have a lot of Realm Currency, or you’ve spent that resource on other stuff like the ones being sold in the Realm Depot , I would suggest picking up the boulder furnishings instead of the pets. The reason for this is quite simple: the costs are cheaper and you can grab up to six pieces each.

Genshin Impact Serenitea Pot Guide Traveling Salesman 2

Plopping down furnishings and visiting friends

These furnishings don’t require any materials or waiting time just to get crafted. You can plop them down immediately. So, if you’ve got 12 boulder pieces, you can place them in your Serenitea Pot realm to further boost your Adeptal Energy.

Likewise, if you visit your friends’ domains from Saturday to Monday, you might find the Traveling Salesman there. Based on the FAQ, it seems that Chubby will sell different items, too. Unfortunately, everyone on my friends list either had their auto-join settings disabled or they’ve yet to unlock their Serenitea Pot abodes. If you do get to visit your buddies, let me know if you spot different furnishings for sale. Oh, and don’t forget to help out your pals by speeding up their construction projects .

This addition will help the player a lot in building their realms as they desire and will also make you visit other realms and indulge with other players as well. Players are loving the Housing feature as it allows them to build on the already beautiful world of Genshin Impact. You can unlock the housing feature by downloading the update and to know more about the feature do pay a visit to Tubby.

That’s all for this guide on the teapot traveling salesman in Genshin Impact. Do check out our other article to know how you can earn Realm currency in Genshin Impact.

  • What is the Teapot Travelling Merchant

Genshin Impact ’s update 1.5 introduced the Serenitea Pot feature that allows players to build and manage their own manors. Every weekend, a traveling teapot merchant will appear in each player’s realm, carrying rare/uncommon furnishings to sell. In this page, we will cover how the Teapot Travelling Merchant works.

The Serenitea Pot is a housing/dorm system recently implemented in Genshin Impact where players get to personalize their own realms that act as individual and separate dimensions. Of course, it can get very lonely if you’re just customizing your realm so inviting guests over to show off your personalized space or visiting your friends' realms can bring much solace. For more information about how to unlock, access, or leave the pot, please check out our dedicated guide for it.

What is the Teapot Travelling Merchant

The Teapot Traveling Salesman is a special merchant that appears every Friday, 4AM GMT+8 and leaves on Monday, 4AM GMT+8. He offers rare furnishings; at least two random animals or random terrains. Your guests can buy the goods that your traveling salesman has but thankfully, you have a full 24 hours “lockdown” on the merchant’s goods. This means only you can purchase the goods on the first day the merchant appears (Friday 4AM). Your guests can only start buying from your teapot merchant on Saturday 4AM GMT+8 onwards. This prevents guests from “snipe-buying” the exclusive items for sale by your weekly teapot merchant, especially animals as they’re very sought-after.

What is the Teapot Travelling Merchant

The traveling salesman’s location can be seen when you open the map or when you’re viewing the realm through placement mode. You’ll still need to personally go and talk to the salesman in order to see his inventory.

If your access permissions for your Serenitea Pot is set to Direct Access, make sure to at least check your teapot salesman’s inventory on Friday, as soon as the game resets. Otherwise, any guest during the weekends might purchase what your salesman has to offer. If you want to be safe, you can always set your Serenitea Pot ’s access permissions to Join After Approval .

Genshin Impact ’s Serenitea Pot system is not for everyone. However, for those who’ll take advantage of what the feature has to offer, rewards and enjoyment awaits. We’re enjoying the housing system so far and we’re quite excited what additional features or conveniences the future updates will bring. I’m personally excited about having NPCs live in your realm as they feel pretty empty right now. That emptiness is temporarily being occupied by animals for the meantime.

Genshin Impact’s Serenitea Pot: How to craft furniture, locate blueprint vendors, travelling teapot salesman

We explored how travellers can utilise materials harvested, like wood, ready for crafting ornate items and furnishings. In addition, we’ve learned how to craft materials such as fabrics and dyes for these to be used for crafted furnishings.

With all the materials ready, travellers can move forward with the crafting process once they’re ready to head back to our Serenitea Pot . Here we explain how to purchase furnishing blueprints, hidden vendors that sell blueprints and where to find the mysterious teapot salesman.

Serenitea Pot: Where to purchase furniture blueprints

Genshin Impact’s Serenitea Pot: How to craft furniture, locate blueprint vendors, travelling teapot salesman

To begin crafting furniture for your abode, travellers will need to acquire a few blueprints to start. Tubby will have a few blueprints available for travellers through Realm Depot, as travellers can also purchase furniture from Tubby directly.

For more blueprints, travellers will have to track down Chubby, the Traveling Teapot Salesman, who only appears during the weekends between Friday and Monday at 4 am server time. Chubby, bearing a similar appearance to Tubby, can sell rare furniture as well as blueprints. Chubby’s teapot marker appears yellow on the map, while Tubby’s is blue.

Genshin Impact’s Serenitea Pot: How to craft furniture, locate blueprint vendors, travelling teapot salesman

Moreover, there are two hidden vendors in Teyvat which travellers can locate and visit to purchase blueprints. In the Mondstadt region, travellers can look for the local furniture vendor, Goth, at a park south of the Knights of Favonious in Mondstadt. If you’re in Liyue, visit Master Lu near a home on the lower ledge in Qingce Village. These vendors are available between 8 am and 5 pm server time.

Serenitea Pot: How to craft furnishings

After acquiring the blueprints from vendors, as well as Tubby and Chubby, we can start with the crafting process. Speak to Tubby and hit the Create Furnishings tab to begin. Travellers will soon realise that crafting various furniture items can be a lengthy process, with some taking up to 16 hours to complete.

Genshin Impact’s Serenitea Pot: How to craft furniture, locate blueprint vendors, travelling teapot salesman

If travellers have quests and daily missions to complete, this would be the best time to utilise the waiting process. Even so, if you’re in a hurry to start decorating, travellers can use the Vials of Adeptal Speed to speed up the crafting process in a matter of minutes (or seconds).

Once crafted or purchased, travellers will have access to all the furniture from your inventory. Using the layout editor, travellers can place their furniture within their realm. Travellers are to take note that players can only place a certain number of items that can be tracked in the small panel of the layout editor.

It is important to note that with both Tubby and Chubby, when travellers increase their Trust rank with both vendors, their inventory will significantly grow. Additionally, travellers can visit their friends' world and find their Chubby for more items and blueprints to purchase.

Genshin Impact realms guide: layouts, currency, and travelling salesmen

Make your Genshin Impact teapot realm a home.

genshin impact teapot guide

Getting realms

Realm currency, travelling salesman.

For everything you need to know about the Genshin Impact teapot, you've come to the right place. Coming as part of the launch of the Genshin Impact 1.5 update , we now have the chance to inhabit our own, personal slice of Teyvat. The new housing system nudges miHoYo's free RPG ever closer to MMO territory, and there's plenty to get your painter-decorator hands on.

Once you've completed a surprisingly lengthy new quest, you'll be awarded the Serenitea pot, which lets you choose one of three Genshin Impact realm layouts (at least at first) in which you can place all sorts of fun furnishings—if you can find the different Genshin Impact wood locations for the relevant crafting materials. Even better, according to miHoYo, we may be getting new features like gardening and furnishings we can interact with in future, so expect the mechanic to expand with future updates.

So, if you fancy your own corner of Teyvat and want to know how to properly make it your own, let's get cracking with the following Genshin Impact teapot guide.

Genshin Impact teapot quest: How to complete A Teapot to Call Home and get the Serenitea Pot

travelling teapot salesman

Genshin Impact guide : 9 beginner tips Genshin Impact characters : Full tier list Genshin Impact map : All Anemoculus locations Genshin Impact code : Rewards and how to redeem Genshin Impact build : The best overall setups

Before you can even think about planning your dream hangout space, you'll need to be at least Adventure Rank 35 . Once you're there you can start the quest 'A New Star Approaches' and then tackle, 'A Teapot Called Home'. During this mission you meet Yanfei , the new 1.5 character—the other new face, Eula , should be coming in late May.

Anyway, during the two-part quest, you'll be tasked by Madame Ping in Liyue to find some rare materials with Yanfei in exchange for a present. It takes a little while and is mostly a series of chats and cutscenes, but when you need to show evidence to Krosl, do so in the following order:

  • 1. The Jade Mystery
  • 2. Mingxing Jewelry
  • 3. Bubu Pharmacy

When you're all done you'll get your present from Madame Ping: the Serenitea Pot Gadget. You use this as you would any gadget: In the 'Gadgets' section of your inventory, summon the teapot and interact with it so you can choose which realm layout you're going to call home.

Genshin Impact realm layouts: Which to choose

Next, it's decision time: Which realm do you choose? You've got three choices at time of writing—Emerald Peak, Cool Isle, and Floating Abode—but you'll only be able to claim one at first. You will be able to access more in future, but you should decide carefully for your first one, if you care about your environment. It's just cosmetic so just go with your gut.

The biggest gaming news, reviews and hardware deals

Keep up to date with the most important stories and the best deals, as picked by the PC Gamer team.

The trouble is you don't get to see each realm layout before you commit, so below are video overviews of each one:

Emerald Peak

Floating Abode

You will eventually be able to claim more realms by increasing your Trust Rank (and then by spending Realm Currency, more on that below), which is managed by your charming new avian friend, Tubby the Teapot Spirit, so you don't need to agonise too much.

You progress that rank by placing different types of exterior and interior furnishings for the first time only ; Placing a copy of an item already placed in a realm won't move your Trust Rank forward. For that reason you should be buying and crafting the materials for as many different blueprints you can get your hands on.

How Genshin Impact's Realm Currency works

Realm Currency is an automatically-generating currency, and the rate you amass it increases depending on the number and rarity of furnishings you have in your realm. It can only be used at the teapot's Realm Depot vendor and you can put it towards buying furnishings, blueprints, and items that speed up crafting.

Claim your Realm Currency by opening the Jar of Riches in Tubby's menu. To maximise your takings, avoid letting the jar reach max capacity.

The rate at which your Realm Currency accumulates is dependant on your realm's Adeptal Energy; The more you have, the faster the currency appears in the Jar of Riches. Increase your Adeptal Energy by placing more furnishings (rare ones, if possible) in your realm. That way you'll have more currency to spend on crafting blueprints to increase your Adeptal Energy, Trust Rank, and Realm Currency rate, and so on. Here are different energy levels:

How to find the Genshin Impact Teapot Travelling Salesman

Since you should be obtaining and crafting as many furnishing blueprints as possible, absolutely keep an eye out for the Teapot Travelling Salesman. This temporary vendor appears in your realm at the weekend selling unique items, blueprints, and even animals.

You can also visit a friend's realm and do business with their travelling salesman, too. So long as you're both friends in-game, click on your pal's avatar in the 'My Friends' menu and then 'Request to visit Serenitea pot'.
