We are pleased to announce that NTO is now a client of ICM Partners / Primary Talent International for worldwide representation ex-North America.

The story behind NTO started with a match made in heaven, a kid from the South of France always hooked to his guitar and electronic music. After going to the Sziget Festival when he was 18, NTO started to hang out regularly at La Villa Rouge, and Bar Live, two legendary clubs in the South of France. At the time, German minimal techno music was booming and NTO would spend his nights listening to Stephan Bodzin, James Holden, or the very beginnings of Paul Kalkbrenner.

Today, NTO is about to start a new chapter of his career. His debut album “APNEA” was just released on October 8, 2021, featuring collaborations with Monolink and Tricky, and he will be embarking on a 30+ date world tour culminating in a headline show at Le Zenith in Paris in April 2022

nto tour 2023

Line-Up: NTO (live), Read The News, Thyora

Anthony Flavier, also known as NTO, has come a long way, culminating two years ago in an album that made waves far and wide, titled ‘Apnea.’ This LP was the result of two years of passionate work, with the active participation of notable artists like Tricky, Monolink, or Paul Kalkbrenner. Fan magazines attest that the album hits the zeitgeist precisely while remaining unique. It is the deeply personal vision of a musician who doesn’t follow trends but creates them. Alongside the Frenchman, Read the News and Thyora will perform. The visuals are curated by Reckless.

Here’s a reason to be happy ever after... Directed by Lear deBessonet ( Hercules ), this theatrical event honors Sondheim’s legendary memory and his Broadway masterpiece like never before.

“A glorious revival with a wonderful cast who deliver rich and very human performances. I listened. I am still listening. You should, too.”

$NOT cut through the screen and captured the hearts of Gen Z with a sly smile and nonchalance for miles on his breakout single “GOSHA” in 2018. He emerged with a flair for lyrical subtlety, expert pop instincts, and a monotone delivery that has, on one occasion, titled him an “ASMR rapper” (LA Times). Four years later and $NOT has taken subtlety to new heights. In 2020, the 300 Ent. artist released two albums, – TRAGEDY + and Beautiful Havoc (which got praise from Pitchfork, Complex, PAPER, and more), surpassed 9M Spotify monthly listeners and topped Complex’s list of Rappers to Watch in 2021. It’s hard to say that Complex was wrong, when Cole Bennett told the Miami Herald, “I think if he wants to be one of the top five biggest artists in the game in the next five years, I think he can do it.”

The Five: Top DP World Tour grads succeeding on the PGA TOUR

Need to Know

Change Text Size

The Genesis Scottish Open field will feature names much of the American golfing public may not be familiar with. They'd be smart to start learning. The field includes 75 DP World Tour members. More than a few will likely be on the PGA TOUR next year.

As part of the Strategic Alliance with the PGA TOUR and DP World Tour, the top 10 players on the final Race to Dubai Rankings who are not already exempt on the PGA TOUR earn TOUR cards for the next year. Players hold status on both tours, giving the best on the DP World Tour access to the TOUR while still maintaining the flexibility to play in Europe. Think Matthieu Pavon and Robert MacIntyre. They were two of the DP World Tour grads from the inaugural year of the pathway, established before last season.

As the summer continues, the next crop of talented Euros will continue to take shape, but as the PGA TOUR heads over for its annual summer stint in the United Kingdom, it's an apt time to take a look back at who is performing best from the 2023 class. As a whole, they've proven successful. Two of the 10 have won on TOUR, three are currently projected into the Playoffs and six are inside the top 125.

Here's a look at the five top performers.

Matthieu Pavon

The frontrunner for Rookie of the Year is also the top-performing European from last year's DP World Tour top-10. And he very nearly didn't earn a TOUR card at all.

A veteran DP World Tour member, Pavon was ready to return there full-time in 2024. If not for four straight birdies to close his final round of the DP World Tour Championship, he would have. But the Frenchman found red numbers in droves, holing birdie putts of 11, 16 and 13 feet and then tapping in a two-footer on the 18th to cap his miraculous run up the leaderboard. It earned him a T5 finish and, more importantly, moved him inside the top 10 in the last week of the Race to Dubai Rankings – PGA TOUR Eligibility ranking to secure a TOUR card.

Matthieu Pavon wins 2024 Farmers Insurance Open

Pavon was a late bloomer on the DP World Tour, winning his first event in his 185th start. He needed just three starts to earn his first PGA TOUR victory, outlasting fellow Europeans Thomas Detry and Stephen Jaeger to win the Farmers Insurance Open. A week later he jumped to No. 1 in the FedExCup standings with a solo third at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He finished T12 at the Masters and fifth at the U.S. Open, further illustrating his mettle.

Robert MacIntyre

It's been an up-and-down year for MacIntyre and his acclimation to TOUR life. He eloquently spoke about his struggles adjusting to living and playing the majority of his golf in America in an interview with Bunkered in May. It was both off-course and on-course. The courses are different, the grasses are different and, most notably, the people and culture are different.

"It's just basic stuff to be honest with you that you take for granted back home in Europe. It's just simple things. Sitting in player dining, you do it in Europe and you've got all the Scottish boys, you've got all the British boys. A lot of the European guys, if you're sitting on you're own, they will come and join you," MacIntyre said. "Out here, because you don't know many folk, you don't know them in that same kind of depth, they don't come to sit with you. It does become a lonely place at the golf side of it."

He carded just one top-30 finish in his first 10 starts but began to find his stride in the spring. He notched three top-15s in a four-event stretch, including a T8 at the PGA Championship. Then he broke through at the RBC Canadian Open, winning his first TOUR event in an emotional scene with his father carrying his bag.

Robert MacIntyre wins RBC Canadian Open

MacIntyre is 39th in the FedExCup, well on his way to playing the FedExCup Playoffs in his first season on TOUR, and in position to earn exemptions into all of next year's Signature Events.

Victor Perez

Perez was one of the most experienced Europeans to earn dual membership last fall and that veteran acumen has been on display. After a rough start to the season, Perez has stabilized and is playing some of his best golf at the best time.

Perez finished a season-best third at the RBC Canadian Open, which was enough to earn exemptions in the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday and Travelers Championship via the Aon Swing 5. He finished T12 at the Memorial and T44 at the Travelers, earning enough FedExCup points to slip into the coveted top 70. The top 70 players following the Wyndham Championship will make the FedExCup Playoffs.

This week's Genesis Scottish Open is a bit of a homecoming for Perez. He's not Scottish, but he lived in Scotland for six years before relocating to Nassau, Bahamas, and the Albany Club for this TOUR season. The first-year member had lived in Scotland full-time (first in Dundee, then Edinburgh) since 2017 and was based at The Renaissance Club, home of the Genesis Scottish Open.

Sami Valimaki

A former DP World Tour Rookie of the Year, Valimaki has work left to do to earn the same title on the PGA TOUR this season. At 86th in the FedExCup, he's well behind Pavon and Knapp. Still, he's in a solid position to keep his TOUR card.

Sami Valimaki buries a 53-foot birdie putt at RBC Canadian

Valimaki earned a bulk of his points with a solo second at the Mexico Open at Vidanta in March. The Finn has struggled to replicate that form with much consistency. His T12 at the John Deere Classic was encouraging, but, along with the Mexico Open, it's the only two times Valimaki has finished inside the top 30 of an event.

Ryo Hisatsune

Count Hisatsune, 21, among the up-and-coming young players who are quickly establishing themselves on the TOUR. Hisatsune hasn't notched the top results like some of his peers, but his consistency has put him firmly in a position to keep his card for another year.

Hisatsune, one of just two Japanese players with full status TOUR this year, has four top 20s this season and amassed nearly $1 million in earnings. He's currently 97th in the FedExCup. Hisatsune's T11 at The American Express in January remains his best result.

The youngest player in the DP World Tour top 10 from a year ago, the 21-year-old Hisatsune's rise was rather remarkable. He became the first Japanese golfer to win in Continental Europe in 40 years with his maiden DP World Tour victory during his rookie season at the 2023 Cazoo Open de France.

Scottie Scheffler, The Open

The world’s best players have descended upon Royal Troon for The 152nd Open Championship , the final major of the season. This course last hosted golf’s oldest major in 2016, when Henrik Stenson fended off Phil Mickelson in a historic duel for the ages.

Stenson prevailed at 20-under-par that year, an Open record, while Mickelson finished three strokes behind at 17-under. Remarkably, the third-place finisher, J.B. Holmes, posted a 6-under-par score, 13 strokes back of Stenson. Only 17 players finished under par that week, a testament to Troon’s difficulty and how well Stenson and Mickelson played.

This week may not see scores that low, as the forecast calls for inclement weather on Thursday and Friday. But regardless of what the weather does, it all comes down to the wind, which plays a massive role at Royal Troon as it sits along the Firth of Clyde.

So, to help break down the tournament, we ranked the top 50 players in this week’s field, ranked by their chances of winning the Claret Jug:

50. Jordan Spieth

Ah, the curious case of Jordan Spieth , the man with an otherworldly short game who won the 2017 Open Championship at Royal Birkdale. But he has looked like anything but a major championship contender in 2024, missing the cut at the Masters and tying for 43rd and 41st at the PGA Championship and U.S. Open, respectively. His iron play has been an issue lately, which explains why he missed the cut at last week’s Genesis Scottish Open . But his putter let him down, too.

Jordan Spieth, The Open

49. Harris English

Harris English had a solid start to the season, posting four straight top-25 finishes in February and March. But the former Georgia Bulldog has struggled since then, recording only two top 25s, which, funny enough, came at Augusta and Valhalla .

48. Thomas Detry

Thomas Detry has played well in both major championship starts this season, tying for fourth at Valhalla and 14th at the U.S. Open. He also tied for 13th at Royal Liverpool at The Open a year ago, as he had a well-rounded performance that week. Detry is also a terrific putter and could be a great pick to finish in the top 10 at Royal Troon.

47. Adam Hadwin

Adam Hadwin last made the cut at The Open in 2019 and tied for 57th at Royal Portrush. He does not have the best record in the British Isles, as evidenced by his recent T-34 at the Genesis Scottish Open. But the Canadian is a solid putter, which always helps.

46. Tom Hoge

Tom Hoge , one of the best ball strikers on the PGA Tour, has had an up-and-down stretch as of late. He missed the cut at the U.S. Open, tied for third at the Travelers, and then failed to make the weekend at the Genesis Scottish Open. Hoge missed the cut in both of his Open appearances.

45. Si Woo Kim

After a poor weekend on the greens at Valhalla, Si Woo Kim has rallied to make five straight cuts, with his best finish being a T-15 at the Memorial. Kim does everything well from tee to green, but putting has been his downfall this season. He missed the cut at Hoylake last year.

44. Christiaan Bezuidenhout

The South African withdrew during the second round of the Genesis Scottish Open due to an undisclosed injury, which should cause some concern. But the latest word is that he will play this week at Royal Troon. Before his WD, he made four consecutive cuts, which included a solo fourth finish at the Memorial and a T-32 at the U.S. Open .

43. J.T. Poston

J.T. Poston ranks 10th on the PGA Tour in driving accuracy percentage, which helps explain why he has made five straight cuts. Poston is also a solid putter, so if he can hit his approaches closer to the hole, he could be a longshot contender this week.

42. Dean Burmester

Dean Burmester will play in his third straight major championship at Royal Troon after tying for 12th at Valhalla and finishing in solo 69th at Pinehurst No. 2. He did not qualify for last year’s Open at Royal Liverpool but did so in 2021 and 2022, finishing T-40 and T-11, respectively. Burmester can hit the ball a mile, but the question around the LIV golfer revolves around his accuracy and short game.

Dean Burmester, LIV Golf

41. Byeong Hun An

Byeong Hun An is one of the longest hitters on the PGA Tour, but he has struggled to keep it in play lately. Two missed cuts at the U.S. Open and the Genesis Scottish Open have An looking to bounce back in a big way at Royal Troon.

40. Sepp Straka

A poor week at the Genesis Scottish Open has Sepp Straka trending downward, but he is a very accurate player off the tee and into the greens—a must for Royal Troon. Straka has four top 10s this season and tied for 16th at Augusta, his best finish in a major this year.

39. Min Woo Lee

Min Woo Lee recently tied for second at the Rocket Mortgage Classic but could not replicate that success at the Genesis Scottish Open, finishing in 73rd. He has struggled with his iron play and accuracy off the tee, but if he can avoid Royal Troon’s bunkers and not make grave mistakes, Lee has the game to vie for the Claret Jug.

38. Jason Day

The Aussie has struggled over the past month or so, with his best result being a T-23 at the John Deere Classic —a tournament that did not boast a strong field. Despite his recent slide, Day has the game to contend at, and possibly win, The Open.

37. Cameron Young

Two straight top-10 finishes for Cameron Young have him trending in the right direction as he still eyes his first career PGA Tour victory. But perhaps it comes this week, as Young has finished solo second and T-8 in the last two Opens. If he can hole some putts and maintain his focus, perhaps the Claret Jug will head back across the pond in Young’s possession.

Cameron Young, PGA Tour, Rocket Mortgage Classic

36. Max Homa

Max Homa has fallen off a cliff since tying for third at the Masters, posting only one top-10 finish—a T-8 at Quail Hollow. His last three starts: a missed cut at the U.S. Open, T-63 in Connecticut, and a T-70 at the Renaissance Club.

35. Denny McCarthy

An uncharacteristic week on the greens led to Denny McCarthy’s missed cut at the Genesis Scottish Open. But hopefully, for his sake, he gets a better understanding of the pace at Royal Troon. Even the best putters in the world have off weeks.

34. Louis Oosthuizen

Louis Oosthuizen has not played in a major yet this year, yet here he is. In December, he won twice on the DP World Tour in his native South Africa. He also has five top-10s on LIV Golf this season, most recently finishing fourth in Andalucía. The 2010 Champion Golfer of the Year loves playing links golf, so it should surprise no one if he contends in The Open again.

33. Justin Thomas

Justin Thomas had the golf world buzzing on Thursday after he began the Genesis Scottish Open with a bogey-free, 8-under 62. But then he stumbled over the weekend, finishing the tournament at 4-under and in a tie for 62nd—a microcosm of Thomas’ season, which has featured five top 10s but two missed cuts at Augusta and Pinehurst.

32. Davis Thompson

Davis Thompson blitzed TPC Deere Run to win the John Deere Classic with a record-low score of 28-under-par. But he came back to Earth this past week with a T-46 at the John Deere Classic.

31. Aaron Rai

Aaron Rai was not in The 152nd Open Championship field as of Sunday morning. But his strong T-4 finish at the Genesis Scottish Open awarded him with a trip to Royal Troon, and rightfully so. Rai is trending in the right direction, posting five straight top-20 finishes, including a tie for second in Detroit.

Aaron Rai, PGA Tour, Genesis Scottish Open

30. Sungjae Im

If you take the major championships away, Sungjae Im has had a remarkable season. He has six top 10s and 10 top 25 finishes overall, but he somehow missed the cut in each of the three majors. Go figure. Yet, Im has a phenomenal short game, a much-needed attribute for The Open.

29. Keegan Bradley

Keegan Bradley last made a cut at The Open in 2018 but finished in 79th. Still, the newly minted Ryder Cup captain may have some fire in his belly, knowing that he is the man to lead the Americans next year.

28. Matthew Fitzpatrick

The Englishman tied for fifth at the Memorial, primarily due to a final-round 3-under 69, but has not played well since then. He barely made the cut at the U.S. Open and did not contend in Connecticut and in Scotland, but Fitzpatrick still has the game to contend at Troon.

27. Shane Lowry

The 2019 Champion Golfer of the Year has played well as of late, tying for 19th at the U.S. Open and ninth at the Travelers Championship. He has also demonstrated the ability to go low, shooting a 62 at Valhalla and TPC River Highlands. Maybe another low round—and a Claret Jug—is on the horizon for the Irishman.

26. Adam Scott

Adam Scott posted his best finish in almost three years at the Genesis Scottish Open, so perhaps that will serve as a harbinger of things to come this week. He nearly won the 2012 Open at Royal Lytham and St. Anne’s but bogeyed the final four holes to lose to Ernie Els by a stroke. That is well in the past, however, and Scott is as optimistic as ever about the state of his game now.

25. Akshay Bhatia

Since tying for 22nd at the Memorial, Akshay Bhatia has played wonderfully. He tied for 16th at the U.S. Open and finished in the top five at the Travelers Championship and Rocket Mortgage Classic. A three-putt on the 72nd green sealed his fate in Detroit, but Bhatia has the game to vie for an Open title.

24. Tom Kim

Tom Kim almost took down the top-ranked player in the world at the Travelers Championship and also showed that he has the guts to handle pressure down the stretch. He tied for second at Hoylake last year and has made the cut at all three majors this year.

Tom Kim, The Open

23. Russell Henley

Russell Henley has quietly put together a solid season but has not threatened the winner’s circle. Henley has struggled in The Open throughout his career, but you can never say never. He has a terrific short game.

22. Sahith Theegala

Sahith Theegala most recently tied for fourth at the Genesis Scottish Open, primarily due to a putter that cooperated. If his flat stick can stay hot, watch out for Theegala at Royal Troon. But if his driver gets erratic, he will be a non-factor—a lot of variance in possibilities here.

21. Robert MacIntyre

Maybe Robert MacIntyre would rank higher on this list if not for his massive celebration after his electric Scottish Open victory. All jokes aside, MacIntyre has all the confidence in the world going into Royal Troon, so who says he couldn’t go back-to-back?

20. Sam Burns

After three weeks off, Sam Burns arrives in Scotland feeling refreshed and ready to go, much like his good friend Scottie Scheffler. But Burns has struggled in his three Open appearances, with his best finish being a T-42 at St. Andrews in 2022.

19. Wyndham Clark

Wyndham Clark has had a poor major campaign in 2024, missing a pair of cuts before tying for 56th at the U.S. Open. But maybe his back-door top 10 at the Genesis Scottish Open, where he shot a final round 8-under 62, will give him a spark.

18. Brian Harman

Brian Harman has not won since he decimated Royal Liverpool a year ago. Still, the former Georgia Bulldog has had a solid run since his missed cut at The Masters. He most recently tied for 21st at the Scottish Open and also tied for ninth at Pinehurst.

Brian Harman, Brooks Koepka, The Open

17. Brooks Koepka

Brooks Koepka has four top-10 finishes at The Open, but he tied for 64th a year ago and missed the cut the year before last at St. Andrews. Still, Koepka is a 5-time major champion, and it would surprise nobody if he hoisted the Claret Jug on Sunday.

16. Corey Conners

Corey Conners has played steady golf all season, making every cut. His best result came at the U.S. Open, where he tied for ninth, but Conners arrives in Scotland looking for more. He has the game to win a Claret Jug, and after making three straight cuts at The Open, maybe this is his week.

15. Joaquin Niemann

Earlier in the year, Joaquin Niemann was arguably the hottest player in the world. However, the young Chilean has struggled in major throughout his career, with his best result coming at The 2023 Masters, when he tied for 16th. Perhaps that changes this week.

14. Hideki Matsuyama

Hideki Matsuyama could not find a groove on the greens, which explains why he missed the cut at the Genesis Scottish Open. Otherwise, he has had a solid season, with his best major finish being a solo sixth at Pinehurst. Matsuyama also tied for 13th at Royal Liverpool last year.

13. Viktor Hovland

Viktor Hovland looked like one of the best players on the planet one year ago when he won the FedEx Cup in Atlanta. But he has struggled with his short game this season, which has produced a scatterplot of results. He missed the cut at Augusta and Pinehurst but somehow sandwiched a T-3 in between at Valhalla.

12. Tony Finau

A terrific ball striker, Tony Finau’s best finish at The Open came in 2019 at Royal Portrush, where he finished solo third. He missed the cut at Royal Liverpool last year but recently posted a T-3 result at Pinehurst No. 2. He then tied for 5th at the Travelers in his latest start.

11. Cameron Smith

Cameron Smith has three top 10s in majors since his triumph at the Old Course two years ago. He has one of the best short games in the world, which can carry him to victory this week.

10. Tommy Fleetwood

A popular pick this week, Tommy Fleetwood has not missed a cut since the Arnold Palmer Invitational in early March. Fleetwood’s game matches up well with links golf, as evidenced by his three top 10s in the four previous Opens. He tied for 10th at Hoylake last year.

9. Patrick Cantlay

After missing the cut at the Memorial, Patrick Cantlay posted his best career finish in a major, tying for third at Pinehurst No. 2. He then posted a T-5 finish at the Travelers Championship and arrives in Scotland fresh and in form.

8. Jon Rahm

After missing the U.S. Open due to a foot injury, Jon Rahm returns to major championship golf after a pair of top 10s on LIV Golf. He missed the cut at Valhalla and tied for 45th at Augusta National , so anything short of that this week will no doubt frustrate the Spaniard and lead to more questions about his decision to join LIV last December.

Jon Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton, The Open

7. Ludvig Åberg

Ludvig Åberg held the 36 and 54-hole lead at the Genesis Scottish Open but struggled on Sunday to tie for fourth. Still, he has the game to contend and win on any course, as nothing seems to faze the 24-year-old.

6. Tyrrell Hatton

The Englishman has made the cut at all three majors so far this season, with his best finish being a T-9 at Augusta National. He also tied for fifth at the 2016 Open, the last time Royal Troon hosted, and arrives in Ayrshire fresh off a LIV Golf win in Nashville and a T-3 finish in Andalucía.

5. Collin Morikawa

Collin Morikawa has had an outstanding season as his ball-striking looks to have returned to its top-tier form—the form that won him a pair of majors in 2020 and 2021. That said, he has struggled to close out tournaments in 2024, but Morikawa can easily win a second Claret Jug this week.

4. Xander Schauffele

Xander Schauffele remains in solid form two months after his major breakthrough at Valhalla. He has posted four straight top-20 finishes, with his best result coming at the U.S. Open, as he tied for seventh. Schauffele most recently finished T-15 at the Genesis Scottish Open.

3. Rory McIlroy

After his heartbreaking finish at the U.S. Open last month, Rory McIlroy rebounded nicely at the Genesis Scottish Open. If his putter can cooperate throughout the week, McIlroy will be a factor in the end.

2. Bryson DeChambeau

Bryson DeChambeau’s best Open Championship finish came two years ago at St. Andrews, where he tied for eighth. But now he arrives as the U.S. Open champion, looking to win back-to-back majors. Nobody has played better in the majors this year than DeChambeau.

1. Scottie Scheffler

A win at Royal Troon would cap a historic season for Scottie Scheffler , who has already won The Masters, The Players, and four Signature Events. His last start came at the Travelers Championship, where he bested his good pal Tom Kim in a playoff. Scheffler arrives in Scotland fresh and ready to vie for the Claret Jug.

Get your coffee ready as the pga tour heads to scotland for a couple of weeks.

The PGA Tour goes international for its annual two-week stretch in Scotland beginning with the 2024 Scottish Open, which wraps up Sunday. Welcoming a full field to The Renaissance Club, the PGA Tour is once again teaming up with the DP World Tour for the co-sanctioned event. Originally only apart of the European circuit, the Scottish Open has doubled as a PGA Tour event the past two seasons.

In doing so, it has identified a couple of big-name winners in Xander Schauffele (2022) and Rory McIlroy (2023). Making birdies on his final two holes, the Northern Irishman skirted past Scotland's Robert MacIntyre and into the winner's circle for a one-stroke victory. McIlroy is defending his title this week in what is his first start since his runner-up performance at the U.S. Open last month.

Ludvig Åberg arrived in stellar form and sat atop the leaderboard entering Round 4 with MacIntyre, two-time major champion and Australian Adam Scott all in contention. 5 takeaways from LSU's turn at SEC media days

L SU kicked off SEC Media Days on Monday in Dallas. [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] did the usual head coaching tour while bringing [autotag]Garrett Nussmeier[/autotag], [autotag]Harold Perkins Jr.[/autotag] and [autotag]Mason Taylor[/autotag] to represent the players.

You can probably guess what the biggest topics were. Much of the conversation centered around Nussmeier taking over for Heisman Trophy winner [autotag]Jayden Daniels[/autotag] as well as the wholesale changes LSU made on the defensive side of the ball.

Media days represent the final stretch of the offseason. Once they arrive, talking season is in full swing as fall camp fast approaches. Before you know it, toe will be touching leather in Las Vegas as LSU begins the year against USC .

Until then, the preseason media swarm will have to hold us over. Here are five takeaways from LSU's session at SEC Media Days.

Brian Kelly not afraid to admit defensive failures in 2023

In his opening statement, Brian Kelly didn't hide from LSU's poor defensive performance in 2023.

"We had a record-setting offense last year, but we didn't play to the standard that we need to play at times defensively," Kelly said.

Since he arrived at LSU, Kelly has embraced the expectations that come with coaching in Baton Rouge. Kelly's openness about the defensive struggles continues the trend of facing the demands head-on.

Kelly didn't shy away from it when talking to the SEC Network Monday morning and when he was asked about the Ole Miss loss later, Kelly offered more thoughts.

"That game cost us a chance to be in the playoffs," Kelly said, "In many ways, it forced our hand to evaluate our defense and what we needed to do in the offseason."

"That game really became the mark for where we can't go again," Kelly said.

The change Kelly mentioned was the firing and replacing of the entire defensive staff. Kelly knows LSU can't afford to have another letdown like that on one side of the ball. This year, the aim is look like a much more complete team.

Tigers feel great about Nussmeier

Kelly was asked about Nussmeier and his response echoed what we've heard all offseason long.

"We feel really good about the transition to Garrett Nussmeier. He's been with us, he knows the offense, he knows the structure. He's been immersed in everything that we've done since we've got here," Kelly said.

Despite being a first-time starter, Nussmeier's name is being thrown around in the Heisman trophy mix and conversations about next year's NFL Draft.

Kelly said there's not a more comforting feeling as a head coach than handing the reins to a QB who he felt all along could lead LSU to a championship.

The expectations are high, but all the talk indicates Nussmeier is prepared to meet them.

Kelly offers more insight on PJ Woodland

PJ Woodland saw his profile rise immediately after arriving at LSU. He shot up the depth chart as an early enrollee, competing for a starting spot at cornerback. Woodland was highly recruited, but he wasn't a blue-chipper according to On3's Industry Rankings.

Kelly was asked about Woodland on Monday and offered his thoughts on the young corner.

"To play corner, in my opinion, you have to do three things. You gotta be able to play the ball down the field. There are many guys that can be in man coverage but the ball is in the air and they can't find it. The second thing is, you gotta be able to tackle, and he's a ferocious tackler. He loves to tackle the football," Kelly said.

Kelly said the third aspect is the ability to play man-to-man coverage, and Woodland can do that too.

However, Kelly said Woodland was 157-159 pounds when he arrived. It can be difficult to play at that weight week in and week out in the SEC.

"When he physically develops, he's going to be a really good football player," Kelly said.

It's hard to say if Kelly's comments provide a reason to pump the breaks on the Woodland hype. Kelly isn't shy about playing true freshman, but LSU will want to be sure he's physically ready. This could mean LSU rolls with its veterans early in the year with Woodland forcing his way into the lineup later in the year.

Still, it was another positive review for Woodland.

Kelly's program is fully in place

Another heavily discussed narrative on Monday was Brian Kelly's history of turning a corner in year three.

At Central Michigan, Kelly took CMU from six wins to nine in his third year. At Cincinnati, year three meant a BCS bowl appearance for the Bearcats. Notre Dame went all the way to the national title game in Kelly's third year.

Now in Year 3 at LSU, Kelly's program is in place.

"This is the most accountable team that I've had. This has got to be the best leadership that I've had here at LSU, and not because they're better kids, it's that they've just been at this process now for three years," Kelly said.

Kelly said this group shares some of the characteristics with his other year three teams. That stuff usually translates to winning games, but Kelly knows it needs to show up with a consistent performance on the field.

Depth at wide receiver is strong

Kelly was asked about LSU losing Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr, especially about how LSU plans to replace its top two receivers from 2023.

"At the wide receiver position, there are probably 6-8 players that will get the opportunity to contribute and make an impact. I think that's what I like about our receiving core more than anything else, is the depth."

Kelly highlighted Kyren Lacy as a guy who will emerge and mentioned the speed Chris Hilton put on display in the bowl game.

Kelly likes the flexibility of this group and said LSU brought in the right mix of players to provide depth inside and out.

QB Garrett Nussmeier offered his appreciation for the pass-catching depth during his media session too.

Despite how commonplace tipping is in the U.S., it can still seem confusing to understand how much to tip for which services. Though common advice says to tip 15 percent to 20 percent, it may not always be obvious how much to tip for a service — or even when to tip at all.

Around two-thirds (67 percent) of Americans who dine at sit-down restaurants always tip their server, according to Bankrate’s Tipping Survey . For other services, whether or not to tip can be less clear. Fewer U.S. adults always tip when they go to coffee shops (at 20 percent) or when pick up takeout food from a restaurant (at 11 percent).

Customers are also increasingly prompted to tip for other services, such as car maintenance, retail stores and self-serve food, and many are feeling confused and frustrated as a result. More than 1 in 3 (35 percent) Americans believe tipping culture has gotten out of control, and 11 percent are confused about who and how much to tip.

Tipping may feel frustrating, but it’s vital for some fields. Because the expectation is that tipped workers will make more through tips, they legally only need to make $2.13 an hour in the U.S, according to the U.S. Department of Labor . As you plan your next local outing or luxurious trip , here’s how to show your thanks and tip appropriately for a wide range of services.

Bankrate’s insights on tipping behaviors

  • Tipping etiquette isn’t always obvious. 11% of U.S. adults are confused about who and how much to tip.
  • But pre-entered tip screens don’t necessarily make tipping easier. 34% of U.S. adults are annoyed about pre-entered tip screens; 25% tend to tip less, or not at all, when they’re presented with the screens; and only 14% tend to tip more when they see them.
  • Some find tipping gratifying. 29% of U.S. adults say they feel good when they leave a generous tip.

How much to tip at restaurants

For waitstaff at sit-down restaurants , the tip should be at least 18 percent of the pretax bill, according to Cortney Norris, an assistant professor of hospitality and tourism management at Oklahoma State University who studies tipping habits.

Beyond that, the size of a restaurant’s gratuity depends on how well you’re served, including whether your order is correct and whether the server checks on you after you receive your food. Check your tab carefully, because some places add a gratuity to the bill. You may or may not want to supplement that.

“I think that percentage range has moved up, based on inflation and cost of living,” Norris says. “(Waitstaff) wages haven’t. $2.13 has been the sub-minimum wage since 1991. That tip amount has to increase to offset everything else going on in today’s economy.”

Tips are not necessary at fast food restaurants, counter-service restaurants or for take-out orders. Counter-service restaurant workers will likely appreciate any tip for fantastic service, but unlike waitstaff, they likely already receive a full hourly wage, Norris says.

Additional tip: Some restaurants include a menu item such as “Beers for the kitchen,” where you can add several extra dollars to your bill to tip the cooks and dishwashers behind the scenes.

How much to tip at bars

Tip $1 per drink for beer or wine the next time you’re at a bar, according to Norris. For cocktails, which take more time and expertise to make, tip at least 18 to 20 percent of your bill.

If you know you’ll be ordering multiple drinks over the course of a night, tipping $5 on the initial drink and then $1 for each drink after can be a show of goodwill to the bartender. For open bars, consider tipping at least $1 per drink.

How much to tip at coffee shops

At coffee shops and cafes, tipping your barista around 10 percent to 15 percent on coffee or about $1 on a drip coffee would likely be appreciated.

You can also pay your Starbucks barista by leaving a tip with the app.

How much to tip delivery drivers

Delivery fees can be quite high, but that money usually doesn’t go to the driver.

Delivery giant Grubhub advises tipping $5 or 20 percent of your meal price — whichever is greater — if it’s a simple delivery. If your area has severe weather, if the driver has to walk up several flights of stairs or if you are making a large order, tipping an extra 3 percent to 5 percent shows your appreciation for a difficult job.

How much to tip at hotels

Expect to pay a variety of tips at hotels , and the bigger and more luxurious the property, the greater the amount.

How much to tip while traveling

If you are traveling outside the country , do a little research on tipping customs before you go. Tips are expected in Canada, for example, but not in Japan. And always tip in cash and in the currency of the country you are visiting.

How much to tip at weddings

The size and scope of the wedding determine the amount you should pay in tips. Carefully read the contract for the wedding and reception venues before deciding on gratuities, as they might be included in the price. Also, if you are the host, make sure service workers at the party do not leave out tip jars, since you would not want to burden your guests with leaving tips.

How much to tip at salons and spas

Hairstyling and other beauty services are licensed, skilled crafts. Elaine Swann, a lifestyle and etiquette expert and the founder of the Swann School of Protocol in California, recommends tipping 5 percent to 20 percent for beauty services, depending on the quality of service.

Some independent massage therapists charge all-inclusive rates for their services, but generally tipping 20 percent for spa services like massages, facials and more is advised.

Most all-inclusive resorts , however, don’t encourage tipping.

How much to tip for transportation

Most ridesharing apps allow you to tip your driver through the app, but make sure to keep cash on hand if you’re taking a shuttle, taxi or limousine.

“With Uber rides, the least amount is 3 to 5 percent, and it goes up from there,” Swann says. “Make a judgment call. Was the vehicle clean? Was the person pleasant? Did they do something extra? It just depends on the level of service.”

Generally, the longer the trip, the larger the tip.

How much to tip child care

Regardless if you’re showing appreciation to a teen babysitter or a daycare worker, tipping 15 percent to 20 percent for childcare workers is generally advised.

Additional tip: Consider giving your children’s daycare teachers a small gift or handmade treat during the holiday season.

How much to tip movers

How much you’ll tip movers depends on many factors, such as if you own a lot of heavy furniture or if the movers will be expected to bring items upstairs.

Tip more for a more difficult, labor-intensive move, and be sure to tip for each individual mover. Offering water bottles, especially on a hot day, can be another kind way to show appreciation for a difficult job.

General guidelines for tipping etiquette

Tipping is more of an art than a science. These guidelines are a great place to start, but don’t feel like you have to stick to them if a worker gives you fantastic service and you want to show your appreciation. Otherwise, if you receive poor service, try to show empathy to the workers and bring up your complaint with them before leaving a small, or no, tip.

“In general, for things like sit-down restaurant meals, haircuts and taxis/rideshares, I’d say a 20 percent tip is recommended,” Bankrate Senior Industry Analyst Ted Rossman says. “Unfortunately, many people are tipping far less — sometimes even nothing at all. But for all of those services, I think a 20 percent tip should be standard practice. These people are working hard and depend on tips as a big part of their salary.”

Generally, if you don’t know whether or not to tip for a service, Norris, the assistant professor at Oklahoma State University, advises tipping if you couldn’t do it yourself or if the person added value to your overall experience.

This isn’t an exhaustive list of tipped services. Additionally, don’t forget about tipping for other personalized or highly-skilled services, like tattoos or housekeeping.

  • Tipping is required for sit-down restaurants. For most services, tipping is optional, albeit appreciated, and is typically based on exceptional service. But at sit-down restaurants, tipping is the majority of a worker’s pay. Make sure to tip at least 18 percent.
  • Tip according to the service provided: The more skill and experience that goes into a service, the more you should consider tipping. Someone who you have a personalized relationship with that knows your preferences also might earn a bigger tip, since they can offer knowledgeable advice and higher quality services.
  • Cash is not necessarily king: Check the tipping policy at a company before using their services. If there’s no way to tip a worker when you pay, ask if they prefer to be tipped via a peer-to-peer payment platform, such as Venmo or Zelle, or in cash. Just make sure to leave cash in a visible spot when you might not be present to speak to the worker in person, such as for hotel housekeeping.
  • Show appreciation for favors, too: You may tip a professional, but you’re unlikely to pay and tip a friend who’s helping you move your couch. Paying back a friend with a meal or a favor in turn is a kind gesture when you receive help for free.

Bankrate commissioned YouGov Plc to conduct the survey on tipping habits. All figures, unless otherwise stated, are from YouGov Plc. Total sample size was 2,445 US adults. Fieldwork was undertaken between 29th April – 1st May 2024. The survey was carried out online and meets rigorous quality standards. It employed a non-probability-based sample using both quotas upfront during collection and then a weighting scheme on the back end designed and proven to provide nationally representative results.

Cycling-Roglic will not start Tour de France stage 13 after Thursday’s crash

nto tour 2023

(Reuters) – Primoz Roglic will not start in the stage 13 of Tour de France following a crash the previous day, his team Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe said on Friday.

The 2023 Giro d’Italia winner Roglic was brought down 12 km from the finish line on Thursday, a day after losing 25 seconds after another crash on stage 11.

“Primoz Roglic underwent careful examination by our medical team after yesterday’s stage and again this morning. The decision has been taken that he will not start today,” Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe wrote on X.

Roglic was sixth in the standings after he finished Thursday’s race.
