I need a vacuum hose diagram for all vacuum hoses originating from intake throttle body area. If someone can tell me where I can find such a diagram I would greatly appreciate it. I am trying to find specifically the routing of the vacuum hoses that run from the intake to the area in front of the cruise control module on a 1998 S10, 4.3L . The hose tees into two hoses, the hose that runs straight (a 6 in hose is not connected and I can not find the connection point for this hose. Please help:neutral:???
http://www.chiltondiy.com Good Luck
I ran into a similar situation, in my case it ran to a vacuum ball that wasn't there anymore. Look in the area to see if you see where one may have been bolted or clipped in the past and removed for some reason.

Vacuum Hose goes into the fender??????
- Add to quote
Hey, Where does that darn hose go?????? I have a vacuum hose coming from the intake and going to the driver's side fender......where does it go from there???? It is really, the one I have, rotten and basically turning to dust....I need to change it........................ Thanks All......................ratrace2
it goes to the vaccum acumulator (ball) in driver's fender . only way to access it is to remove fender.....sorry
S10dude, said: "it goes to the vaccum acumulator (ball)" The what?????? So how do I change the vacuum line??? What the hell is that.................... "ball acumulator"?????
OK, Thanks beandip...but what the hell is a ball acumulator????? What does it do.......Can I get rid of it.....
Well in the older years there was literally a ball hanging from the hood, that was like a little reserve so you would always have vacuum when using vac operated items. when you move the heat/air to the floor, or direct it out of the front vents, or turn on "MAX A/C" it all uses vacuum. without this, it blows air out of the defrost vents, the floor vents, normal vents....all at once. 98+ has the vacuum in the fender where you dont see it, where this little hose goes to.
Holy Cow, Thanks so much guys....... I mean, I have the chiltons manual, the Alldata supscription and a couple of other bood about this truck-----plus I own one---and no one, and nothing has ever mentioned the location or function of this "Ball acumultor vacuum thing"...... Holy cow..................thanks all
Can i just plug the vacuuum line where it starts at since i dont have ac or heater since im body dropped? will this affect anything?
if you don't have vents at all then yea,m plug it at the intake manifold. Make sure it's plugged good though cause a leak will screw with your engine. ratrace2, don't feel bad man. My lines were missing on my 97 when I bought it and it took for freaking ever to find a diagram to figure out how to hook it back up. That info seems to be scarce.

* You all are the holy grail * Ive spent nights and days at the O'reillys parking lot with the hood popped trying to solve this dilemma. I'm new on this site and will be using it until my 98 tootoo runs no more! Thanks guys
This thread is dead and buried. Please let them rest in peace...in other words, don't dig up old threads. Thanks.

I need to replace all the vacuum hoses in my 98 SLT AWD but can't find the size of he hoses required. Right now, the heat is only coming out from the front windshield defroster. No heat from the vents & passenger side heater. My rear heater also blowing cold air? Is that related to the vacuum lines or a bad valve somewhere? Thanks.
No heat/air/vent control issues? Start here GenII
Thanks for the link, but that post did not mention anything about the size of the vacuum hoses needed. The first pic definitely help to see how the vacuum hoses layout.
1/4” rubber windshield washer hose from the LAPS should do. I replaced all my vacuum lines in the engine bay with 6mm silicone vacuum hose I found online.

Yep ID
Thank you.
I used 50211 armor mark 7/32 or 5.5mm hose from Oreilly when I had to replace the one from the PCV valve across the front of the engine to the tee, I was on the road so I just bought 2ft of it. Gates sells it as well https://amzn.to/3oDut9M At home I have a selection that I ordered online.

There was actually a recall for this. Go to your local GMdealer and have them check your VIN for a recall. If not under recall get out of there its easy to repair yourself don't let'em fool you.Remove the front pads caliper and rotors. Locate the abs sensor mounted to the wheelbearing assembly by a small socket head cap screw (Allen wrench). Removethe bolt and softly gently/wiggle the abs sensor around until it pops upout of the hole. some will break, which is why it wouldbe nice if the recall applies to your vehicle that way if they break gm replaces. Once you get both sides removed, clean themounting surface of all rust or build up with w-d 40 and small steel toothbrush then wipe off excess with clean rag and mild soap and warm water, dry completely make sure no spray residue exist on parts, Next apply a thin layer of lubricant grease to preventfuture rusting and reassemble. The rust build up under the sensor is causing the angle to change resultingin inaccurate wheel speed readings in the abs module your abs module will interprets this asa wheel is either slipping or skidding and applies your abs. This should make you happy with no more irritations. Please rate me. If you need further assistance you can always ask me. Good luck with this.
