Tour Information

Shortly after dawn on Tuesday 9th September 1975 two enormous articulated trucks edged out through the gates of a film studio north of London. They contained twelve and a half tons of electronic equipment – speakers, mixing-desks, amplifiers, lights and instruments. Nobody paid much attention to them, but they were the first tangible sign of one of the biggest roadshows in rock music history, the Wings tour of 1975-76, which was to take in ten countries and play to two million people. The US leg of the tour was the most extensive, with Wings playing 21 cities, performing 34 shows and entertaining an estimated audience of nearly 600,000 people. The first leg of the tour was confined to Britain and set the pattern for what was to come – songs from the Wings albums, Beatles favourites, features for band-members Denny Laine and Jimmy McCulloch and the celebrated “acoustic set”, in which they all sat in chairs at the front of the stage and ran through a programme of Paul McCartney’s best-loved numbers. The tour continued to the US and throughout Europe with the final concerts being held at Wembley, after which the band took a well-earned rest.

Wings 1975 tour book

September 1975

For me, the highlights from the ‘Wings over the World’ tour are Madison Square Garden, New York and The Kingdome in Seattle. And after a year’s work of trying to achieve the impossible – forming a band after The Beatles – we made it. The smell of success was sweet. Paul McCartney – From paulmccartney.com , May 30, 2013

From Wikipedia :

In 1975 and 1976, Paul McCartney’s band Wings embarked on the ambitious Wings Over the World tour. In contrast to Wings’ two low-profile, smaller-scale outings of 1972, this was a major, highly publicised concert tour that took place mostly in arenas. Around one million people attended 66 shows on three continents — Australia, Europe, and North America (where it was known as the Wings Over America Tour and represented McCartney’s first appearances in concert since the last Beatles tour in 1966). Touring Japan was also planned, but was cancelled by that country’s authorities because of McCartney’s 1972 Swedish marijuana arrest. The tour came upon the heels of two Wings album releases: Venus and Mars and Wings at the Speed of Sound. Both were described as “stadium rock” type albums, and the songs from both were heavily represented on the tour, as were numbers from the popular and critically-acclaimed Band on the Run. To emphasize that Wings was a real band and not just a McCartney showcase, Denny Laine sang several lead vocals, including “Go Now”, reprising his vocal on The Moody Blues’ first hit from 1965, and Simon & Garfunkel’s 1966 song “Richard Cory”. Jimmy McCulloch also sang lead on his song “Medicine Jar”. But most noteworthy was McCartney’s decision to perform a minimal sampling of five of his own Beatles songs – despite an earlier disinclination to do any at all. Performances of “Yesterday” and “The Long and Winding Road” used muted horn arrangements rather than their original strings, in the latter case vividly emphasising McCartney’s strong objections to Phil Spector’s heavy-handed strings treatment on the Let It Be album. Wings’ lineup for the tour was Paul and Linda McCartney, Joe English, Denny Laine, and Jimmy McCulloch. They were joined by brass and woodwind players Howie Casey, Steve Howard, Thaddeus Richard, and Tony Dorsey. For the tour, the graphic design firm Hipgnosis, who worked with Wings at the time, created a memorable group logo featuring a stylized letter “W” with a set of wings, and the logo continued to be associated with Wings even after the tour.

Someone imagines that the capital of Australia is Sydney or Melbourne but they are wrong as Canberra is the Capital of Australia. One of the fundamental reasons why these two urban communities weren’t picked was because of their hot climate in summer. As the English expressed they could just truly flourish and lead the nation in colder atmospheres. Despite the fact that this is a silly explanation, all government officials concurred it, with them bargaining not to pick either Melbourne or Sydney and finding a delightful city that involved an instructing position. Picking a city between the two significant urban communities and naming it Canberra, combining the European 'Cranberry' and the Indigenous 'Nganbra' to make an interesting title. The language of Australia is English and the currency name is the Australian Dollar.

The way of life of Australia is basically a Western culture with some neighbourhood impacts which you will experience in the course of Australia tour packages or Australia honeymoon packages. The culture has changed since British rule.  After some time, the various foods, ways of life, and social acts of settlers have been retained into standard Australian culture. Australia doesn't have one uniform culture on the grounds that the nation is comprised of so various societies on account of the emigrant movement following European colonization in the late eighteenth century. Australia's official language is English, and its national currency is the Australian Dollar. A seaside culture and a privately developed surfing lifesaving were then booming in the middle of the twentieth century, adopted the Hawaiian sport of surfing. With down-home music and subsequently Australia's wild clearing, American mainstream society and film were captured in the 20th century, bolstered by the brand new invention of  the TV and a sizable group of American’s substance. The Melbourne Olympics of 1956 depicted a specific rich nation, and the very new cultural idols like Dadaist Barry Humphries and Australian down-home musician Slim Dusty conveyed a distinctively Australian character.  Let you witness this extraordinary part of the land to its centre nature with the Australia tour packages. The conventions and ways of life of the individuals here have an alternate air through and through which include another appeal to the excursion. Australia Birding Tours

We have a range of exciting Australia birding tours which visit Australia’s top birding sites and target most of this island continent’s bird endemics while also encountering a multitude of fascinating mammal species. The Commonwealth of Australia (“Australia” hereafter) is a country comprising the mainland of the Australian continent, the island of Tasmania and numerous other smaller islands. Australia is the largest country in Oceania and the sixth-largest country by total area. It has a population of 26 million people found in the major cities, primarily along the east coast, these including Canberra (the capital), Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide, with Perth being the largest city in the southwest.

Australia has six states (most of which we visit on our Australia birding tours) – New South Wales ,  Queensland ,  South Australia ,  Tasmania ,  Victoria , and  Western Australia , and two mainland territories – the  Northern Territory  and the Australian Capital Territory. Several  external territories  are also administered by the commonwealth – these include Christmas Island, the Cocos (Keeling) Islands, the Coral Sea Islands, Heard Island and the MacDonald Islands, and Norfolk Island. Two other islands are part of mainland states, Macquarie Island (part of Tasmania) and Lord Howe Island (part of New South Wales). Australia is surrounded by the Indian and Pacific Oceans but nearby countries include  New Zealand ,  New Caledonia ,  Papua New Guinea , and  Indonesia .

Australia is the oldest, flattest, and driest inhabited continent, with the least fertile soil and is made up of a variety of landscapes ranging from deserts (“The Outback” and Uluru/Ayers Rock) to tropical and temperate rainforests. The Great Barrier Reef is the world’s longest coral reef and is located just off the northeast coast. The Great Dividing Range runs down the east of the country, the fertile Atherton Tablelands providing some great birding.

Read More About Australia

Humans have inhabited Australia for at least 65,000 years with people migrating across land bridges and short sea-crossings from what is now Southeast Asia. Europeans arrived in the 17th century and this led to a period of colonization. The Dutch were the first to map the west and north, naming the landmass New Holland and Captain James Cook was the first European to map the eastern coastline and he named it New South Wales and claimed it for Great Britain. The expansion of British control began in the early 19th century, but the incredibly hostile environment made it slow going.

Following  International Ornithological Congress  (IOC) taxonomy, v13.2 (December 2023), the Australia bird list is considered to stand at 989 species, with an impressive 363 of these Australian birds being endemics. Some of these endemic birds include:  Superb Lyrebird ,  Plains-wanderer ,  Orange-bellied Parrot ,  Southern Emu-wren ,  Purple-crowned Fairywren ,  Powerful Owl ,  Chestnut-breasted Whiteface ,  White-browed Treecreeper , and  Gouldian Finch . There are many other highly sought-after species including  Southern Cassowary ,  Black-necked Stork , albatrosses, penguins, parrots (including gorgeous  Red-winged Parrot ), fruit doves, Blue-faced Parrotfinch, grasswrens, and fairy wrens.

We currently have five fascinating small-group Australia birding tours for those people interested in going birding in Australia, these tours have all been designed based on years of exploring the different regions and varied habitats of the country, in order to give you the best possible (and ordered approach) to birding here. Testimonials from our australia birding tours.

Andy Walker is one of the truly exceptional guides in the world of birding. His skill at hearing and then finding birds is amazing. Couple this with an innate sense of getting his clients into the best possible position to both see and photo the given bird elevates him from "competent" to "top notch." I have been with Andy twice and intend to search him out again.

Took the "Eastern Australia: from the Outback to the Wet Tropics" tour, my first with Birding Ecotours. Itinerary fit my needs to a "T". Birds were spectacular and guides made a special effort at each stop to find the unique birds. Also bagged some fascinating fauna including tree kangaroo, platypus, koala, and echinda. Andy Walker was an excellent guide. He is personable with a great sense of humour. His ability to adapt to changing circumstances was excellent. He and his local guide knew the birds and terrain very well, optimized our birding time at each locale by knowing what key species occurred at each, and took pains to be sure everyone got on each bird.

We loved traveling with Andy. Thanks to Andy’s birding and organization skills, this trip exceeded our expectations. Andy is an excellent bird guide and tour leader! His knowledge of the birds, their songs, habitats, and ability to locate birds was amazing. We all appreciated his ability to make sure that we all saw good views of the birds.

Legendary musician Paul McCartney has announced he will bring his Got Back tour to Australia this year, with two regional cities on the line-up.

Key points:

  • Sir Paul will play Adelaide, Melbourne, Newcastle, Sydney, Brisbane, and the Gold Coast
  • His US tour featured a catalogue of Beatles, Wings, and solo hits across nearly 3 hours
  • The show features a duet with the late John Lennon using modern technology

The English singer-songwriter who gained worldwide fame with The Beatles will hold shows in Newcastle and the Gold Coast for the first time.

The tour will kick off in Adelaide on October 18, the city where The Beatles made history in 1964 on their first visit to Australia .

An estimated 350,000 people lined the streets between the airport and Town Hall to catch a glimpse of the band.

Sir Paul will then travel to Melbourne for a show on October 21, Newcastle October 24, Sydney October 27, Brisbane November 1, and the Gold Coast on November 4.

This will be his first time in Australia since his award-winning tour in 2017 .

Regional cities on the line-up

The tour will include first visits to Newcastle and Gold Coast.

Frontier Touring CEO Dion Brant said Sir Paul wanted "at least a few places different" to his 2017 tour.

" We saw when Elton [John] came just how Newcastle embraced the show and embraced Elton and his team," he said.

"We were super excited to suggest the [regional locations] to Paul and we're really excited that he's agreed to do it."

Mr Brant said the company had been wanting to get Sir Paul back after his visit six years ago.

"People were blown away and there was so much regret from people who didn't go, back in 2017," he said.

"To be honest, we started conversations then about coming back the following summer … and then Paul got quite busy.

"And you know, it's Paul McCartney … so you take the time frame you can get."

What can the audience expect?

Mr Brant said fans can expect a jam-packed show.

"In the US last year he was playing for just under three hours, plays dozens of songs, and the set lists are all over the internet. But it's hit after hit after hit," he said.

"I think that the interesting thing with Paul is he's got such a deep catalogue of Beatles songs, Wings songs, and solo hits, that you know it's impossible to fit them all in.

"But he has a fair go for somebody his age."

The show features a duet with the late John Lennon using modern technology.

Mr Brant said tickets start around $80, up to around $400.

VIP packages will also be available.

Compliance status

We firmly believe that the internet should be available and accessible to anyone, and are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of circumstance and ability.

To fulfill this, we aim to adhere as strictly as possible to the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (WCAG 2.1) at the AA level. These guidelines explain how to make web content accessible to people with a wide array of disabilities. Complying with those guidelines helps us ensure that the website is accessible to all people: blind people, people with motor impairments, visual impairment, cognitive disabilities, and more.

This website utilizes various technologies that are meant to make it as accessible as possible at all times. We utilize an accessibility interface that allows persons with specific disabilities to adjust the website’s UI (user interface) and design it to their personal needs.

Additionally, the website utilizes an AI-based application that runs in the background and optimizes its accessibility level constantly. This application remediates the website’s HTML, adapts Its functionality and behavior for screen-readers used by the blind users, and for keyboard functions used by individuals with motor impairments.

If you’ve found a malfunction or have ideas for improvement, we’ll be happy to hear from you. You can reach out to the website’s operators by using the following email

Screen-reader and keyboard navigation

Our website implements the ARIA attributes (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) technique, alongside various different behavioral changes, to ensure blind users visiting with screen-readers are able to read, comprehend, and enjoy the website’s functions. As soon as a user with a screen-reader enters your site, they immediately receive a prompt to enter the Screen-Reader Profile so they can browse and operate your site effectively. Here’s how our website covers some of the most important screen-reader requirements, alongside console screenshots of code examples:

Screen-reader optimization: we run a background process that learns the website’s components from top to bottom, to ensure ongoing compliance even when updating the website. In this process, we provide screen-readers with meaningful data using the ARIA set of attributes. For example, we provide accurate form labels; descriptions for actionable icons (social media icons, search icons, cart icons, etc.); validation guidance for form inputs; element roles such as buttons, menus, modal dialogues (popups), and others. Additionally, the background process scans all the website’s images and provides an accurate and meaningful image-object-recognition-based description as an ALT (alternate text) tag for images that are not described. It will also extract texts that are embedded within the image, using an OCR (optical character recognition) technology. To turn on screen-reader adjustments at any time, users need only to press the Alt+1 keyboard combination. Screen-reader users also get automatic announcements to turn the Screen-reader mode on as soon as they enter the website.

These adjustments are compatible with all popular screen readers, including JAWS and NVDA.

Keyboard navigation optimization: The background process also adjusts the website’s HTML, and adds various behaviors using JavaScript code to make the website operable by the keyboard. This includes the ability to navigate the website using the Tab and Shift+Tab keys, operate dropdowns with the arrow keys, close them with Esc, trigger buttons and links using the Enter key, navigate between radio and checkbox elements using the arrow keys, and fill them in with the Spacebar or Enter key.Additionally, keyboard users will find quick-navigation and content-skip menus, available at any time by clicking Alt+1, or as the first elements of the site while navigating with the keyboard. The background process also handles triggered popups by moving the keyboard focus towards them as soon as they appear, and not allow the focus drift outside it.

Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.

Disability profiles supported in our website

  • Epilepsy Safe Mode: this profile enables people with epilepsy to use the website safely by eliminating the risk of seizures that result from flashing or blinking animations and risky color combinations.
  • Visually Impaired Mode: this mode adjusts the website for the convenience of users with visual impairments such as Degrading Eyesight, Tunnel Vision, Cataract, Glaucoma, and others.
  • Cognitive Disability Mode: this mode provides different assistive options to help users with cognitive impairments such as Dyslexia, Autism, CVA, and others, to focus on the essential elements of the website more easily.
  • ADHD Friendly Mode: this mode helps users with ADHD and Neurodevelopmental disorders to read, browse, and focus on the main website elements more easily while significantly reducing distractions.
  • Blindness Mode: this mode configures the website to be compatible with screen-readers such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack. A screen-reader is software for blind users that is installed on a computer and smartphone, and websites must be compatible with it.
  • Keyboard Navigation Profile (Motor-Impaired): this profile enables motor-impaired persons to operate the website using the keyboard Tab, Shift+Tab, and the Enter keys. Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.

Additional UI, design, and readability adjustments

  • Font adjustments – users, can increase and decrease its size, change its family (type), adjust the spacing, alignment, line height, and more.
  • Color adjustments – users can select various color contrast profiles such as light, dark, inverted, and monochrome. Additionally, users can swap color schemes of titles, texts, and backgrounds, with over seven different coloring options.
  • Animations – person with epilepsy can stop all running animations with the click of a button. Animations controlled by the interface include videos, GIFs, and CSS flashing transitions.
  • Content highlighting – users can choose to emphasize important elements such as links and titles. They can also choose to highlight focused or hovered elements only.
  • Audio muting – users with hearing devices may experience headaches or other issues due to automatic audio playing. This option lets users mute the entire website instantly.
  • Cognitive disorders – we utilize a search engine that is linked to Wikipedia and Wiktionary, allowing people with cognitive disorders to decipher meanings of phrases, initials, slang, and others.
  • Additional functions – we provide users the option to change cursor color and size, use a printing mode, enable a virtual keyboard, and many other functions.

Browser and assistive technology compatibility

We aim to support the widest array of browsers and assistive technologies as possible, so our users can choose the best fitting tools for them, with as few limitations as possible. Therefore, we have worked very hard to be able to support all major systems that comprise over 95% of the user market share including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Opera and Microsoft Edge, JAWS and NVDA (screen readers).

Notes, comments, and feedback

Despite our very best efforts to allow anybody to adjust the website to their needs. There may still be pages or sections that are not fully accessible, are in the process of becoming accessible, or are lacking an adequate technological solution to make them accessible. Still, we are continually improving our accessibility, adding, updating and improving its options and features, and developing and adopting new technologies. All this is meant to reach the optimal level of accessibility, following technological advancements. For any assistance, please reach out to

What to pack for Australia

People packing for a tour

An empty suitcase

Tim Tams aren't easy to locate beyond the skirts of Australia. Pack an empty suitcase so you can return home with supplies and sweet souvenirs for family and friends.

Australian currency

There's no leniency in Australia when it comes to paying in foreign currencies. Pack Australian dollars in cash to avoid the fees of teller machines and currency convertors.

Australia is known for giant spiders and snapping crocodiles. But it's more likely to be tiny flying insects that get in your way. Pack bug spray to keep mosquitos at arm's length.

Goggles and a snorkel

Home to the world's most highly regarded reef, packing goggles and a snorkel will mean you can explore Australia's underwater world until your heart is content.

Sun protection

Trips to Australia typically involve a lot of time in the sunshine. Pack a wide brim hat and sunscreen to stay protected from the country's notoriously harsh rays.

Pack for sustainable travel

Consider your environmental impact when you next take a trip and go single-use-plastic-free by packing a reusable water bottle, a steel straw, your own shopping bags and refillable toiletry bottles.
