Sustainable and Safe Travel: Teaching Resources for Schools

These resources challenge pupils to get active, look after their environment and stay safe, whether walking, cycling or scooting to school. They have been selected based on their ease of use for educators, engagement for pupils and curriculum-relevance.

The resources have been selected from a range of external websites, including other local authority areas. They are all free to use. In some instances you will need to register to access the resources.

Suitable for: KS1

Suitable for : KS2

Engage pupils with this online game, which teaches them about potential dangers on the route to school and helps them discover which types of transport can reduce their carbon footprint.

Suitable for : KS3

PSHE Lesson resource which looks at the idea of staying safe, this covers how to stay safe in a variety of contexts including when out with friends, online, with family and when using public transport. A great lesson to use as an introduction or to consolidate learning.

This is an easy to follow power point lesson (no prior planning, printing or preparation required . The resource is designed to be delivered as one 60 minute session but all of our resources are fully editable and designed to allow sections to be added, removed or changed should you need to do so.

No previous knowledge in the subject area is needed, the lesson is easily deliverable by someone who is not a subject specialist or an experienced PSHE teacher. Lesson meets PSHE guidance .
