Make sure you have a My Ticketmaster account

Get the basics covered before tickets go on sale by logging in and checking your Ticketmaster account ahead of time. If you don’t have a Ticketmaster Account then make sure you sign up in advance –  Ticketmaster.com.au .

Sign into your My Ticketmaster account ahead of time

Remember to triple check your passwords, account information, and billing information are all filled in correctly in advance, that way you’re not facing any last-minute account updates when trying to process your order.

Keep your options open with ‘Best Available’

Save time by searching “Best Available,” which scans all sections fast – it’s quicker than searching sections one at a time.

Keep an eye on the clock

There will be a time limit applied to all transactions as they’re progressed through the ticket purchasing stages. Remember to keep an eye on the timer on your screen and move through the processing pages as quickly as possible (this is even easier when you’ve completed the account set-up stage we mentioned above).

Don’t refresh your screen

Stick to one window while you’re in the  Waiting Room  and when you’re being pushed through  the Smart Queue  and always resist the urge to refresh.

Hitting the refresh button means you’ll lose your place in the queue and, as frustrating as it can get, patience is the only way to win this game. Ticketmaster is equipped with sophisticated systems that are designed to manage and process ticket purchases as quickly as possible. The queuing system that appears on your screen will place you at the front of the line as soon as possible.

Remember: there are a lot of fans

We’re expecting this to be a very popular event. When a popular event goes on sale there are hundreds, and sometimes thousands, of customers all attempting to purchase tickets at the same time. Tickets are sold as long as seats are available, and when an act is this popular, sometimes they go very quickly.

Be sure to follow the above tips to ensure you have the best chance of snapping up some tickets.

How do I purchase Accessible Seating tickets?

Fans who require accessible tickets can purchase these through the General Public page. Please select the number of wheelchair, accessible, and/or companion card tickets you would like to purchase to view the ‘Best Available’ seating currently available.

Accessible seats (including Companion Cards) can be purchased during the presales via Customer Service if you can quote a relevant password.

Accessible seating, both during presales and the general public sale period, can also be requested via our  Accessible Booking form . Please be sure to include your relevant presale code with your request if wanting to make a booking during the presale period.

If you need to talk to a Customer Service Representative, please call  1300 446 925.  Please note, this phone number is reserved for patrons with accessibility requirements and companion cardholders and can not process any other ticketing requests.

Fans can expect to hear  Englishman In New York, Every Breath You Take, Roxanne, Message In A Bottle and many more.

STING  will be accompanied by an electric, rock ensemble, with special guest  JOE SUMNER on his first Australian solo tour. Acclaimed singer-songwriter – and the voice of summer – JAMES REYNE  will join the line-up at all  a day on the green events. Tickets go on sale on Friday 16 September at 11.00am local time from   Ticketmaster   with the  a day on the green and AAMI members’ pre-sale beginning Tuesday 13 September.

Following a sold out six-night residency at the London Palladium, My Songs  was hailed “ a masterclass ” by UK’s The Times.  “Sting remains an undeniably skilled performer with a gold-plated back catalogue” .

A musical journey taking in hits like Fields of Gold, Shape Of My Heart ,  Roxanne  and  Demolition Man , the concert was described as  “a rare treat ” by The Telegraph and saw  STING  praised as “ near peerless ” by The Guardian with “ sublime pop alchemy “.

JAMES REYNE’s  songs have provided the soundtrack to endless Australian summers. Distinctly Australian – as legendary critic Ed Nimmervoll noted, “His voice is as familiar to us as the taste of Vegemite, as essentially Australian” – James is responsible for iconic songs such as  Reckless, The Boys Light Up, Beautiful People, Lakeside, Daughters Of The Northern Coast, Fall Of Rome, Hammerhead, Motor’s Too Fast  and  Slave . James has had 19 Top 40 singles – including six Top 10 hits – and 11 Top 10 albums. His latest album , Toon Town Lullaby , is his 12th solo studio album – “another fine record, which sits comfortably in his classic catalogue” (Rhythms magazine).

James first shared a bill with STING  nearly 40 years ago when Australian Crawl were part of the  Synchronicity tour – The Police’s final tour until they re-formed 23 years later.

sting tour australia

Talented singer, songwriter and guitarist, JOE SUMNER  learnt to play guitar and drums when he was a teenager inspired by Nirvana’s  Nevermind , forming rock trio Fiction Plane – going on to release four studio albums and opening for another trio, The Police on their 2007 worldwide reunion tour. His recent singles include  You You You  and  Looking For Me, Looking For You  from his forthcoming debut solo album  Sunshine In The Night , due for release in 2023. With echoes of his father Sting in his voice, his heart-stirring lyrics and folksy love songs are sure to be warmly welcomed by Australian audiences.

Throughout his illustrious career,  STING  has sold more than 100 million albums from his combined work with The Police and as a solo artist, including five Australian number one albums and 20 Australian Top 50 singles. Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee, composer, singer, songwriter, actor, author and activist –   STING is the consummate musical craftsman and has written some of the most memorable songs of the past four decades.

Re-live those memories and make new ones this summer at a day on the green . Don’t miss the musical mastery that is  STING .

Sting Announces Australian Tour For February 2023

Sting Announces Australian Tour For February 2023

Chris Singh

It’s been more than a decade since former Police frontman Sting has brought his unique buttery vocals down under. Yet it looks like the music veteran behind classic pub belters ‘Roxanne’ and ‘Every Breath You Take’ is finally ready to tackle a bit of a greatest hits comeback tour for any fans willing the invest in a nice little dose of 70s and 80s nostalgia. Announced today, Sting will head down to Australia next year for a massive eight-date tour, showing love to major capitals like Sydney and Melbourne while also popping around for a bit of open-air action at some of the country’s best winery estates.

There aren’t many concerts coming in the next few months that you could easily take mum and dad to, so consider the Sting Australia tour and a nice little op to get the olds out to some live music to kick off the new year. That goes double if you manage to nab tickets for one of the regional dates, which will take place at acclaimed wineries along our country’s east coast as part of the annual A Day On The Green concert series.

The city shows will mostly take place at theatres and entertainment centres, although Perth – the first show on the Sting Australia tour – will take place in the very relaxed surrounds of Kings Park.

More Sting

An Englishman in Australia equipped with an arsenal of hits like few others, Sting  cut a lean and commanding figure as he casually strolled onto the stage at Perth's Kings Park for the first show of his My Songs tour down under.

The Police legend, who has never been one for fanfare, strolled out wearing a headset mic, skinny black jeans and a tight grey t-shirt and paced the front of the stage in a spotlight to Message In A Bottle .

With one foot resting atop a foldback speaker, he firmly plucked away at his bass, offering up his trademark vocals as the song's melody gripped the audience.

He took a bow as if to wink to the audience, and harmonica ushered in fan favourite Englishman In New York , Sting belting out its chorus while subtly shaking his hips and then raising the neck of his bass to dive headfirst into its catchy runs.

Delicate piano from keyboardist Kevon Webster rang out through a wash of cymbals, and the entire venue was bouncing in time to Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic , with punters jumping, dancing, clapping and screaming. Through all the noise, though, Sting's bass always had a solid presence, proving to be a driving force throughout the night.

"You've heard some hits... I've got some bad news for you... I'm gonna play some new songs," he said with a grin. "You never know; they might be hits one day."

Perched upon a stool, he changed gears and turned down a road less travelled by many punters, playing If It's Love and Loving You , both from the 2021 album The  Bridge .

Tight verses opened to soaring choruses in Rushing Water , another new song that allowed backing vocalists Melissa Musique and Gene Noble to really shine, before ‘90s favourite If I Ever Lose My Faith In You had punters thrusting their arms into the air as Sting plucked away, visibility delighted.

He wasn't going to let anyone forget the scope of his hits, frequently offering up tracks such as Fields Of Gold , occasionally accompanied by much-welcomed anecdotes. Half the audience sat in silence during the hit while the other half whispered along.

"I wrote this song for the millennium," Sting said, introducing Brand New Day and challenging the youngest member of the band, Shane Sager, to undertake Stevie Wonder's harmonica part.

By the song's end, punters had whiplash from glancing back and forth between Sager and Sting, who gave one of his most compelling performances of the night during the track, digging into his bass while barking its uplifting and fast-paced lyrics.

sting tour australia

Sting leaned back while popping his bass to the funky groove of Heavy Cloud No Rain , knowing he had the audience exactly where he wanted them. A highlight of the evening, Musique graced the front of the stage towards the end of the song to unleash soaring vocals that led to a show-stopping jam.

From that point, it didn't matter what Sting was doing - whether gently laying melodies over Dominic Miller’s delicate acoustic guitar in Shape Of My Heart or performing the theatrical number What Could Have Been  to the vision of the Netflix series it features on, Arcane (an animation that no doubt most in attendance were seeing for the first time) - the audience was captivated.

The venue finally matched Sting's energy with Walking On The Moon , many rushing to the front of the stage, ready to scream the chorus of So Lonely back at the singer.

" Ya leel " pulsated throughout the venue in Desert Rose , punters possessed by the beat from drummer Zach Jones, before opener Joe Sumner returned to sing King Of Pain with his father.

The evening was cemented by closing numbers and seminal classics Every Breath You Take and Roxanne , the latter of which Sting joked, "I have no idea what you want to hear" before its punchy twang echoed out into the night.

"I always finish the evening with something quiet and thoughtful," Sting declared, equipped with an acoustic guitar to serenade the audience one last time, performing Fragile while everyone reflected on what was a damn near perfect evening.

Sting delivers a rousing show on My Songs tour with fan favorites: 'I am a very lucky man'

sting tour australia

VIENNA, Va. – Never mind when Sting talks about tantric sex .

His stamina as a performer and musician should be celebrated mightily.

At the scenic Filene Center at Wolf Trap Sept. 1, Sting played the first of two sold-out shows to kickstart the new North American leg of his My Songs tour , an outing that has circled the globe since 2019 – excepting a 2020 pandemic sidelining – and detoured as a Las Vegas residency.

Without pausing for a breath or break, the 71-year-old craftsman of some of the most sophisticated pop-rock in modern music barreled through an opening quintet of chestnuts that seesawed between Police mainstays (“Message in a Bottle,” “Every Little Thing She Does is Magic”) and his storied solo career (“Englishman in New York,” “If You Love Somebody Set Them Free,” “If I Ever Lose My Faith in You”).

These are not three-minute radio hits. They’re songs packed with challenging lyrics, complicated rhythms and serpentine codas. Intermingled elements of jazz, pop, rock and reggae. Poetic expressions of soul searching, quixotic love and yearning.

Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle.

And yet, there was Sting, his voice as muscular as his biceps, headset firmly locked to allow him to roam the stage, bass neck titled upward as he leaned into his nimble finger work, rolling through his repertoire with ease.

In a field of graying rock icons, Sting is a platinum-topped torch bearer.

Which hits is Sting playing on his My Songs tour?

With a resume spanning nearly more than 45 years of material, Sting’s musical cup overfloweth with options.

But the point of the tour is to spotlight hits – still an impossible task given his dozen Top 40 smashes as a solo artist and another nine with the Police – while also paying remembrance to a few meaningful album tracks.

The precise musicianship of his excellent band, including longtime musical partner Dominic Miller on guitar, Zach Jones on drums and Kevon Webster on keyboards, provided “Fields of Gold” with a silky warmth (the stage, naturally, bathed in a burnt-orange hue) and pushed the soaring melody of the erudite “All This Time.”

Jam sessions: Steve Miller recalls late '60s San Francisco music having 'a dark side' but 'so much beauty'

Sting teased ace harmonica player Shane Sager that he couldn’t match the proficiency of Stevie Wonder’s original playing on “Brand New Day,” but the twentysomething Sager met the challenge with his soulful squawking throughout the song’s lackadaisical sway.

The well-paced, 19-song set list is bookended with some of Sting’s most recognizable singalongs, including Police favorites “Walking on the Moon” (no one “eeh-yoh-oh”s like Sting) and “So Lonely,” which dovetailed into its spiritual mate, Bob Marley’s “No Woman No Cry,” a showcase for Sting’s fluid bass work.

One of the most dynamic aspects of Sting’s music is its broad-minded sensibilities. Not many pop-rock stars could fashion a hit out of a pairing with an Algerian singer, as Sting did in 2000 with Cheb Mami. Their worldwide hit, “Desert Rose,” still stimulated with its collection of chanting, atypical cadence and Sting’s suggestively jutting right hip.

Likewise, the pair of pre-encore tracks from the Police’s final album, the landmark “Synchronicity” from 1983, reminded of that band’s inimitable magic.

“King of Pain,” its lyrics stacked with elegantly bleak imagery, its bridge both puzzling and profound, proved emotionally searing (Sting’s son, Joe Sumner, who opened the show, returned to trade verses with his dad).

And of course, the song most associated with Sting and the Police , “Every Breath You Take,” elicited the expected roar from the crowd as they sang along to this speedier live version over Sting’s haunting bass line.

While the radio favorites are certainly worth commemorating, the chosen album tracks and smaller hits that Sting has curated for the show also warrant attention. Background singer Melissa Musique slayed during a joyful spotlight moment on “Heavy Cloud No Rain,” while fellow backup vocalist Gene Noble infused “Shape of My Heart,” its chiffon melody as gorgeous as ever, with meaningful soul.

Early in the show when he finally paused, Sting graciously offered, “I am a very lucky man to be standing here right now.”

Indeed, he is. But his fans share in that good fortune.

How long will Sting be on tour in North America?

Given the length of the My Songs outing, it’s no surprise Sting and his band present a taut, 100-minute production.

They’ll continue to unfurl this sleek outing through Oct. 15 – including Sting’s One Fine Day festival in Philadelphia Sept. 9 that will reunite him with unlikely musical buddy, Shaggy – before returning overseas.

Mine collapse causes sinkhole that engulfed part of soccer field: ‘Kind of like a movie’

ALTON, Ill. ( First Alert 4 /Gray News) — A mine collapsed in Illinois on Wednesday, damaging an Alton-area soccer field.

A representative for New Frontier Materials said an underground mine had a surface subsidence that opened a sinkhole at Gordon Moore City Park in Alton.

Alton Parks and Recreation Department Director Michael Haynes said they estimate the hole is at least 100 feet wide and up to 50 feet deep.

“The mines have been here and in this area for decades and decades,” Haynes said. “It’s never been brought up before, so I’m told it’s an anomaly. We’ll wait until the investigation is complete.”

The collapse engulfed one of the stadium lights.

“It was surreal, kind of like a movie where the ground just falls out from underneath you,” Haynes added.

The turf fields were added to the park in 2019. Haynes said the project was over $1 million.

Although it’s early in the process, Haynes doesn’t expect the city to have to foot the bill for any fixes.

“Hopefully, we can find a remedy and get plans together to move forward before we get into our busy season out here again,” Haynes said.

The incident was reported to the Mine Safety and Health Administration.

“We will work with the city to remediate this issue as quickly and safely as possible to ensure minimal impact on the community,” New Frontier Materials said in a statement.

Alton resident Richard Baird described seeing the giant sinkhole in the middle of the turf field as startling.

“A very sad occasion for the community because of the newness of this facility and No. 1, and No. 2, all the youth that participate here,” Baird said. “It puts all that on hold.”

Baird said this is a huge loss for Alton.

“Thousands upon thousands of people are impacted by this,” Baird said. “Parents and their children who participate as athletes.”

It was a working mine at the time of the collapse and no injuries were reported.

There have been similar occurrences in the area in recent years. Mine collapses closed the Ruler Foods in Belleville, temporarily shut down a Wolf Branch school in Swansea and a skating rink in Fairview.

“Probably a large portion of this park has got mines underneath it, so it’s not surprising to me,” Baird added.

The park is closed for the time being.

The impacted area was secured and will be off limits while inspectors and experts examine the mine and conduct repairs.

Notebook: 5 narratives that will light up this year’s tour de france, tour de hoody: a unique course, four favorites on uncertain form, and a peloton chasing history will make this tour de france one for the ages..

FLORENCE, Italy (Velo) — Tadej Pogačar and the Giro-Tour double. Mark Cavendish chasing the Eddy Merckx record. And Jonas Vingegaard , Remco Evenepoel, and Primož Roglič all on a desperate race against time to hit Tour de France peak form.

What’s not to love in the 2024 Tour de France?

Anchored around an atypical course, one that finishes beyond the realm of greater Paris for the first time in race history, coupled with the prestigious allure of the Olympic Games on the back of every racer’s mind, the 2024 Tour will be one for the ages.

And that is still the case despite a rash of pre-Tour crashes, illnesses, and drama that’s part and parcel of any elite men’s racing season.

If anyone is thinking that this year’s Tour might somehow be a lesser race due to three of the “Big 4” crashing hard at Itzulia Basque Country, don’t be fooled.

In fact, this Tour could be even better because of it.

And every Tour packs enough plot lines, treachery, and intrigue to fill a John le Carré spy novel — just cue the latest edition of the Netflix docuseries “Unchained” for a preview of what’s to come.

There is more than just the “Big 4” and Cavendish, and each and every rider and team are under intense pressure and expectations to deliver something, be it helping out their captain, reeling in breakaways, or chasing personal glory for themselves.

Here are the five storylines that will drive the narrative of this Tour:

1. Pogačar and ‘The Double’

Pogacar

“The Double” is one of cycling’s most elusive milestones, and Pogačar is looking prescient in his decision to race the Giro d’Italia this spring.

With a Giro course that was relatively “light,” and racing against a relatively “thin” GC field, Pogačar made relatively “easy” work of the Giro. No rival directly took it to him, and the one that tried to follow his wheel — Ben O’Connor in the first week — paid a heavy price across the rest of the race.

The Giro was about as easy for Pogačar as a three-week grand tour could be. He didn’t suffer any serious crashes or illnesses, never went into a base-burning red zone, and he danced his way to pink as if he were on a three-week training camp.

Now we will see if Tour will extract its price.

And the Tour always does. No race demands as high a toll as the grand boucle , and it’s no wonder that no one since Marco Pantani in 1998 has won both in the same season.

For a long time, no serious Tour de France contender even tried. Lance Armstrong — though his results are now officially scratched from the record book — never once started the Giro until his doomed comeback.

There were a few Giro winners along the way who won pink and pedaled into the Tour almost as a “why-not” jolly, like Ivan Basso or Vincenzo Nibali, only to run out of gas long before Paris.

The most serious Giro-Tour attempt came with Chris Froome in 2018. He recently told me at the Critérium du Dauphiné before finding out he would not be racing this year’s Tour that the huge dig required to win the 2018 Giro cost him what might have been a record-tying fifth yellow jersey.

Froome, of course, crashed in 2019, and that 2018 Giro marks his last professional victory, and he missed out on selection for the second year in a row. Froome’s Tour story looks finished.

No more white jersey for Tadej at Le Tour After winning the youth classification four times in a row at the Tour de France, Tadej Pogačar is now too old to compete for the white jersey at this year’s race Getty Images ______________ #TDF2024 pic.twitter.com/Mynl2pIghm — Road Code (@RoadCode) June 22, 2024

The list is long why not to race the Giro first — the demands of the race, the short window of recovery before the Tour, and financial and sponsor importance placed on the Tour — and there is the risk not hitting the Tour with the best possible options of victory.

Pogačar is snubbing his nose at those nay-sayers, and proving that in modern racing that old-school records can still fall. Or at least he’s putting a very solid foot forward.

The crashes of his rivals coupled with the relatively low cost of the Giro places Pogačar in pole position to win back the yellow jersey.

Get out the popcorn. Even when Pogačar is on cruise control he is capable of making things interesting.

2. Cavendish chasing Merckx

Cavendish

Mark Cavendish and quest to break the “Merckx mark” will carry the suspense into the other half of this Giro. Normally, the sprinters and the hunt for the green jersey is a secondary story line that only occasionally hits headline status.

That will change this year as Mercurial Mark and his Cavendish Express hunt for one — just one — victory to surpass Eddy Merckx on the all-time victory list.

Of course, some detractors will argue that Cavendish’s wins have only come in the bunch sprints, and point out that Merckx won in all disciplines, from sprints and time trials to mountaintop finales and breakaways.

And that’s true. But to win 34 of anything in the hyper-competitive, worldwide peloton of modern cycling is also arguably harder than when Merckx was racing against a handful of Belgians, French, Italian, and Dutch riders, some of whom were not even on full-time salaries.

Today’s peloton represents that the absolute best of the 1 percent of the 1 percent across the globe, with riders from the Americas, Australia, the former Eastern Bloc, and, as Cavendish represents, the UK.

It’s impossible to compare eras, and there’s no arguing that Merckx isn’t the GOAT, but no one should take anything away from Cavendish’s accomplishments.

Will he win one more? It won’t be easy.

Though on paper he has the best leadout train in the Tour, this year’s Tour isn’t ideal for Cavendish.

A brutal opening weekend could even see some riders getting time cut. Cavendish and Co. should see four chances in the first half — stage 3, 5, 6, and 10 — and the common consensus is that if he’s going to do it, he needs to do it before the race dips into the Pyrénées and Alps in the back-half of the race.

Of course, everyone says they’d be happy to see popular Cavendish get the record, but none of his direct rivals will be squeezing the brakes to let him win.

Jasper Philipsen and Mathieu van der Poel represent the most mortal danger to the Cavendish quest, with Fabio Jakobsen, Dylan Groenewegen, Michael Matthews, Sam Bennett, Mads Pedersen, Arnaud De Lie, and a host of others are just as desperate for the win.

I am a huge fan of the bunch sprint, and if Mercurial Mark can get that one W, more power to him.

Part of me would like to see him stay tied with Merckx, and force him to race one more season. Let the circus roll on!

3. Remco and Roglič drama

Roglič Evenepoel

Perhaps no two riders deliver more drama-per-kilogram than Remco Evenepoel and Primož Roglič.

These two are natural-born showmen, and bring a bit of football-style bravado from the pitch to the bitumen.

Both are desperate for Tour de France success, with Evenepoel under huge pressure in his Tour debut. At the other end of the spectrum is Roglič, out to prove he can win on a new team at Bora-Hansgrohe and take on not only his former bosses at Visma-Lease a Bike but also beat his bête noire in the form of Pogačar, who stole his Tour crown in 2020.

The fact that both are also coming off injuries, more so for Evenepoel than Roglič, will only make them more unpredictable and dangerous.

The opening weekend across the Apennines should set things up for a firecracker-laden opening salvo that will quickly illuminate the field about where everyone stands. Both will be swinging for the fences.

Staying power will be the biggest question mark for these two.

Evenepoel always seems to find trouble, be it his own doing or others, and Roglič showed woeful hints of a late-race collapse at the Critérium du Dauphiné that nearly saw Matteo Jorgenson ride away with the win.

Roglič will be a fan favorite, especially with time running out for the former ski jumper who’s had an extraordinary career despite coming very late to the sport. Supported by a very strong “Band of Brothers” at the newly backed Red Bull team, Roglič will be racing with nothing to lose.

Evenepoel has time on his side, and if he’s unable to follow the Pogačar flares in the high mountains, he could quickly transition into stage-hunter mode similar to what happened in last year’s Vuelta a España.

No one knows what will happen with these two, and that’s what will make this Tour even greater.

4. How far can Vingegaard go? Enter GC Kuss and Jorgo

Vingegaard

Evenepoel and Roglič all enter this Tour a touch off their ideal best, but at least they raced at the Dauphiné showing signs of their glittering potential.

Vingegaard will race into the great unknown.

The two-time Tour-winning Dane is a late addition to the “Killer Bees” lineup that’s lost a bit of its sting due to a seemingly endless string of crashes and bad luck. Wout van Aert and Christophe Laporte are also coming off the injury ward for late-hour bids to chase elusive Tour magic.

Sometimes that uncertainty can be liberating.

Since there’s no pressure or expectations, the two-time defending champion will be free to race on instinct and feeling. Mystery can also mess with a rider’s head.

Vingegaard is logical to his core, and if he knows he doesn’t have the numbers to win, he will accept it without drama, and either will methodically race for the podium, or even tune down the ambitions even more.

After missing so much training and racing ahead of this Tour, it’s hard to imagine him having the legs to hold out across three weeks against a finely tuned Pogačar.

Last year, the tables were turned, and a recently injured Pogačar accepted his fate in the Alps. The same thing could happen to Vingegaard.

Will ‘GC Kuss’ take off this week at the Dauphiné? Or at the Tour de France next month? Velo sits down with the Vuelta a España winner to find out —> https://t.co/uG6vmquD9f — Velo (@velovelovelo__) June 2, 2024

And if he does fade, what about Sepp Kuss or Matteo Jorgenson stepping into the void?

On paper, Vuelta a España winner Kuss has the GC credentials to stand and deliver, but looking at performances so far this season, it’s Jorgenson who could emerge as the team’s best GC alternative.

Visma-Lease a Bike will be on eggshells trying to nudge all of its leaders out of Italy and back into France with GC options fully intact.

Pogačar, Roglič, and Evenepoel will surely attack not just to win but to try to eliminate Vingegaard in the opening two stages if they can.

5. Non-traditional Tour route to spice things up

Tour de France

The Olympics in Paris put a spanner in the works for Tour de France organizers ASO.

French officials were too worried about security risks and logistical problems associated with the looming Olympic Games that the Tour de France was forced to end the race beyond the realm of greater Paris for the first time in race history.

ASO turned that Olympic hurdle into a blessing thanks to some maneuvering that sees the Tour bringing its grand départ road show to Italy for the first time as well as reviving the closing-day time trial.

Since the Tour ended on the Champs-Éysées in 1975, the race ended every year with all the pomp and circumstance of a royal wedding, capped by a tidy bunch sprint, except one.

In perhaps the Tour’s most famous finale, Greg LeMond nipped the pony-tailed Laurent Fignon in a brutal and historic reversal of fortunes in 1989, the last year the Tour concluded with a time trial.

Could this year see a repeat on the Promenade des Anglais? Very much so.

While it’s likely that Pogačar could very well have a commanding grip on yellow, the closing podium spots — and perhaps even the maillot jaune — could be up for grabs.

The 34km course tackles La Turbie and Col d’Eze in a technical, challenging route that could crush the dreams of anyone riding on fumes and deliver nirvana to a rider on a rocketship.

Between Florence and Nice, this year’s Tour also delivers some unique wrinkles that will make the race deliver plenty of surprises.

Let the hype begin!

Kam Saunders sends heartfelt message to Travis Kelce after surprise on-stage appearance at Taylor Swift's Eras Tour show

T ravis Kelce has now officially performed with both of the Saunders brothers. One was on the football field and the other was on stage.

Kam Saunders, who is an dancer and has quickly become a fan-favorite during Swift's famous Eras Tour, is the older brother of Travis' former teammate, defensive tackle Khalen Saunders.

And Kam got to share the stage with Travis on Sunday night at Wembley Stadium when the tight end made a surprise appearance during the singer's transition to her hit song, 'I Can Do It With A Broken Heart," from her newest album, The Tortured Poets Department .

So following this exciting moment, Kam posted a sweet message for Travis on his Instagram.

"I know I'm posting pics that everyone has already seen at this point but whatevs. 😂😂😂 I wanted to highlight this moment from London!!  Trav.. I had the time of my life being an absolute HAM with you on stage. 😂😂😂 This was such a full circle moment for me. I have been to countless Chiefs games with my family over the years to support my baby brother. Three of those 4 years he was with the Chiefs we went to the Super Bowl and won twice... ABSOLUTE LEGACY!!! 😮‍💨 And now for you and I to share the biggest stage in the world with the boss lady... full circle! The Saunders family loves you, Trav! (Including our mom LMAO) thank you for your heart and kindness and goofiness 😂," Kam wrote on Instagram.

And Travis even took a moment to respond to this kind message.

"Kam! The Saunders brothers were already my favorites. From winning super bowls with Sir Bink @khalennotkaylen to having fun bringing Tay back to life on the stage with the other night... and even hanging with Mama Saunders, cheering on in Australia! 🍻 More memories to come!!," Travis wrote in the comments.

Kam's younger brother, Khalen, also saw the video. And afterwards, he  took to social media with a funny reaction.

"Just a couple of the Bros 🥹 That boy T-soul was made for this 😂@tkelce x Big Bro And @taylorswift let me get an audition for the next tour 😂❤️ #ProudBrother 🤞🏽," Khalen wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Khalen was selected by the Chiefs in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft, and was with the team up until the end of the 2022-23 season. He won two Super Bowls alongside Travis.

Live Nation is pleased to announce that Sting will extend his critically-acclaimed world tour, Symphonicity, to Australia and New Zealand in January and February, 2011.

The Australian tour will begin January 22 in Perth (Sandalford Estate) followed by performances in the Barossa Valley and Melbourne (Music Bowl), with an additional two-night engagement at the renowned Sydney Opera House. The tour will also make stops at the Hope Estate Winery in Hunter Valley and the Brisbane River Stage before continuing to New Zealand, where Sting will perform at the Westpac Arena in Christchurch, before concluding at the already sold-out Mission Estate Winery, on February 12 in Napier Valley.

Following sold-out performances throughout North America and Europe, Symphonicity finds Sting performing his greatest hits, re-imagined for symphonic arrangement, conducted by Maestro Steven Mercurio (Pavarotti, Bocelli). For this portion of the tour, Symphonicity will feature the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in Perth, Barossa Valley and Melbourne, the Sydney Symphony in Sydney, Brisbane and Hunter Valley, with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra performing in Christchurch and Napier, NZ.

Fan Club presales for all dates, with the exception of the Napier show which was previously announced and went on sale in August, will begin on Tuesday, October 12 at 9AM (local time), with legacy Fan Club members enjoying a one hour advance window at the start and presales then opening to all members at 10AM (local time). Public sale for all newly announced shows will commence Wednesday, October 22 at 9AM (local time).

The Australia/New Zealand itinerary is:

Sting will also be joined by a group of accomplished musicians, comprised of Dominic Miller (Sting's longtime guitarist), Rhani Krija (Sting's longtime multi-genre percussionist), David Cossin (a multi-percussion specialist in new and experimental music and featured member of the Bang on a Can All-Stars), Jo Lawry (Australian vocalist) and Ira Coleman (bassist).

"I am looking forward to performing in Australia and New Zealand, having a whole new palate of musical colors to work with and reinventing the songs that have been the staples of my live shows for over thirty years," says Sting.

Drawing from a diverse and illustrious career that has produced numerous multi-platinum albums, a staggering list of number one songs, countless accolades and worldwide record sales of nearly 100 million, Sting's most celebrated songs have been re-interpreted with brand new orchestrations arranged by Jorge Calandrelli, David Hartley, Michel Legrand, Rob Mathes, Vince Mendoza, Steven Mercurio, Bill Ross, Robert Sadin, and Nicola Tescari.

Selections, created especially for this tour, will include fan-favorites such as The Police hits 'Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic', 'Roxanne', 'Next To You' and 'Every Breath You Take', to notable songs from Sting's enduring solo career - 'Englishman In New York', 'Fragile', 'Russians', 'If I Ever Lose My Faith In You', 'Fields Of Gold', and 'Desert Rose'.

To accompany Sting's celebrated world tour, Deutsche Grammophon/CherryTree Records, recently announced a live CD/DVD package, 'Live in Berlin', featuring the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, conducted by Steven Mercurio, available internationally on November 26, 2010. This exclusive collection features previously unreleased material and many of his greatest hits, such as 'Roxanne', 'Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic', 'King Of Pain', 'Fields Of Gold', and more, all re-imagined for symphonic arrangement. Featuring special guest Branford Marsalis on select tracks, this live concert experience is quintessential Symphonicity!

Deutsche Grammophon/CherryTree Records also released a companion studio album, 'Symphonicities', to critical acclaim. Highlights include fan-favorites culled from The Police songbook such as 'Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic', 'Roxanne' and 'Next To You', as well as songs from Sting's solo career including 'Englishman In New York', 'I Burn for You', 'Why Should I Cry for You' and 'She's Too Good For Me', among many others.

Sting's first venture into the classical realm began with the success of his #1 album 'Songs from the Labyrinth', a lute-based interpretation of the music of 16th century composer John Dowland, released in 2006 on Deutsche Grammophon. After completing the enormously successful Police reunion world tour, Sting returned to pursue his passion for combining musical genres with his most recent release 'If On A Winter's Night...' which debuted at #1 on Billboard's classical chart.

Prior to starting his solo career, Sting was the principal songwriter, lead singer and bassist of the rock band The Police. As a solo musician and member of The Police, Sting has received 16 Grammy Awards, two Brits, a Golden Globe, an Emmy, three Oscar nominations, Billboard Magazine's Century Award, and MusiCares 2004 Person of the Year. He is also a member of both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

"We are thrilled to be a part of bringing this exciting and unique tour with Sting to the world," said Arthur Fogel (CEO/ Chairman Live Nation global Touring). "The arrangements, combined with Sting's brilliant songwriting and musicianship, will no doubt result in a magical evening of music."

The world tour is promoted by Live Nation and produced by RZO Entertainment, Inc. in association with Universal Music Classical Management & Productions.
