Dota 2 DPC SA Tour 3 Division 1: Schedule, results, format, teams, where to watch

The DPC SA 2021/22 Tour 3 Division I will begin soon, with a ticket to the PGL Arlington Major and The International 11 up for grabs.

Thunder Awaken and Beastcoast, the region’s top two teams, are almost certain to attend TI. At least one more South American team will compete in the TI11 group stages if they continue their great form throughout the year and finish first and second.

What is the DPC SA Tour 3 Division 1 for the years 2021/22?

The tournament is the DPC 2021/22 season’s third and final regional league.

The competition’s top four teams will qualify for the year’s final DPC Major, while the bottom two teams will be relegated to Division 2 for the first tour of the next DPC season in 2022/2023.

SA Division I takes place from June 8 to 14, with matches taking place at 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. GMT+8 on Fridays, Saturdays, and Mondays.

DPC SA 2021/22 Tour 3 Division 1 Format

Similar to last year’s Division 1 and 2 contests, all eight teams in the regional league will play best-of-three matches in a single round-robin format.

On August 4, the top two teams will compete in the PGL Arlington Dota 2 Major.

The regional league for the DPC SA 2021/22 Tour 3 Division 1 will feature a total prize pool of US$205,000 and 1,150 DPC points to be won.

As South Africa’s favorite snack, you’ll find biltong throughout the country, from markets to restaurants. Biltong is made from cured meat, usually beef and game, and is served in dried slices, spiced with herbs. In South Africa, game refers to the animals of the bush like ostrich, kudu, impala and wildebeest.

South African biryani is a traditional dish originating from the Cape Malay culture. It’s made with lentils, meat like goat or chicken, vegetables like tomatoes and potatoes, and seasonings like garam masala, turmeric and chilli powder. It’s served with parboiled rice for a hearty meal.

It’s looking spicy.

South American Dota is not just about passion — they’ve shown they have the skills to crush it on the international stage.

The SA DPC is back, though few threaten the dominance of its top two teams. Evil Geniuses and beastcoast have established themselves as perennial favorites — they were the only two teams with winning records in Tour 1 . Expect these two teams to dominate again — but there are always surprises in store.

What is the DPC SA 2023 Tour 2 Division 1?

This Regional League is the second of three Tours for the Dota Pro Circuit this year.

Besides prize money, teams fight for a variety of opportunities. The top two teams from the South American region qualify for the Major. The top six teams stay in Division 1 for the next Tour, while the bottom two teams will be relegated to Division 2.

5th to 7th tiebreaker

Format of DPC SA 2023 Tour 2 Division 1

All eight teams in the Regional League will periodically play each other in a round-robin best-of-three.

Tiebreakers will only be played if it affects qualification — for Majors and relegation. A two-way tie will trigger a best-of-three tiebreaker. If there are more than two teams tied, the tiebreaker will be a best-of-one instead.

The top two teams qualify for the Berlin Major.

3 week and longer South Africa Tours allow for you to be exposed to one of Southern Africa’s most diverse countries, making it a must do experience, especially for the first time visitor to Southern Africa.

When it comes to wildlife, South Africa’s world famous Kruger National Park is home to the ‘Big 5’ which allows for an up close and personal experience making it a perfect location for a budget Kruger safari .

We have a wide range of South Africa Adventure tours, from small group South Africa accommodated safaris providing comfort to budget camping safari travelling down the full length of the coastline.

The tours allow for you to be exposed to the melting pot of cultures South African’s call the “Rainbow Nation”.

Sapa is the misty and cloudy town with majestic valleys, golden terraces, and rich culture diversity. A trip to Sapa 3 days 2 nights is enough to discover the beauty of this mysterious mountainous town. There are a lot of Sapa package tours for you to choose from, yet traveling by yourself is more exciting and adventurous. As a result, this article will give you some necessary information as well as a planned Sapa 3 days 2 nights itinerary for you to refer.

How to go to Sapa?

The distance to Sapa from Hanoi is approximately 300 kilometers. You can go by bus, train, taxi, car or limousine to Sapa. Some tourists might want to go by motorbike to experience the traffic in Vietnam, but I suggest you not to try because the mountainous way is dangerous.

You will spend about 7 to 8 hours going by bus from Hanoi to Sapa. The ticket price is about 250.000 VNĐ, maybe more depends on the seat. You can go to My Dinh Bus Station or Luong Yen Bus Station to catch a bus. 

The price ticket for a limousine is higher, about 400.000 VNĐ per person. You can book a limousine online, or call their hotline. Taxi and car are the same, but the price can have a slight difference. You will spend about 5 hours traveling to Sapa.

If you want to save money, you can go by train. There are two types of trains: SP (fast) and LC (slow). They depart in Hanoi Train Station in the evening and arrive in the morning. However, the train only stops in Lao Cai Town. You will have to catch a bus to Sapa with a price of 50.000 VNĐ.

How is the weather in Sapa?

As Sapa in the highland area, the weather is quite cool and freezing. The average temperature is about 17°C. There will be rainy between May and August, the weather is quite humid and misty too. The temperature in the winter may decrease to below 0°C. The best time in the year to visit Sapa is from September to November, or from March to May. In May and October, the rice terraces are covered in golden color as it is time for harvest. 

Where to stay in Sapa?

There are a lot of hotels, hostels, and homestays in Sapa. The quality and the service is great and cozy as Sapa is a famous tourist destination. Moreover, the price is usually quite affordable. The most favorite place to stay in Sapa is a homestay because it has a warm welcome, tranquil ethnic decoration, cheap price and stunning view of the mountains. 

The room is abundant, so you don’t need to book accommodation before going to Sapa. However, you should book the room on Agoda or Booking first as you can read reviews and see real pictures. 

How to plan your Sapa 3 days 2 nights?

3 days and 2 nights is not a short amount of time. However, we need a specific plan so that you can explore all the mountainous rural beauties in Sapa. We would like to suggest a detailed itinerary for your Sapa tour. Depending on your schedule that you can stay anywhere longer or shorter. 

Day 1: Hanoi – Lao Cai – Sapa – Cat Cat Village 

You should start to go from Hanoi to Sapa in the early morning. After checking in the hotel, hostel or homestay, you can visit Cat Cat village in a 2-hour ride. Here you will experience the rich cultural customs, wear traditional ethnic clothes and accessories, interact with minorities and watch the rice terraces, floral valley, and astonishing Cat Cat waterfall. You will be given the village map at the gate in order not to get lost and experience all the highlighted spots here. 

Let’s spend a whole day in Cat Cat Village; there are a variety of natural destinations here for you to explore. At night, you can either stay in the village to integrate with minorities lifestyles or come back to your accommodation in Sapa. 

Day 2: Ham Rong Mountain – Silver Fall – Muong Hoa Valley  

It is a deficiency if you don’t visit just one in these three destinations. They are all the symbol of the most beautiful and breathtaking landscapes in Sapa. Ham Rong Mountain is famous for the natural biodiversity, unique imaginative decorating rocks, and picturesque scenery. It is considered as the most marvelous sightseeing in Vietnam. It takes you 3 hours to go to Ham Rong Mountain from Sapa. You can go to this spot in the morning for hiking. Then, you will travel to Silver Fall, which is 15 kilometers far from Sapa town. Here you will have a closer look at a natural silvering fall that can refresh your mind and spirit. You can take a lot of pictures as the view is extremely splendid and attractive. Last but not least, you can visit Muong Hoa Valley. This valley is where thrilling golden rice terraces, colorful staggering flowers, and distinctive limestone rocks having some unique ethnic symbols are located. You will need to spend at least 1 hour to go here.

At night, if it is weekends, you can join the local night market that sells a lot of handworks with traditional distinctive ethnic pattern, grilled food, etc. Or else, you can have your foot or body massaged as you have hiked and walked all day long. 

Day 3: Back to Hanoi

It’s time to come back to Hanoi. You can go jogging or walk around Sapa town, go shopping, buy souvenirs for your friends, and drink morning coffee. Many tourists have given compliments for Sapa coffee, even though it is not the special drink here.  

Still abundance of destinations that you can’t go in just 3 days 2 nights

There are a lot more places to visit in Sapa, for instance, Mt. Fansipan, Ta Phin Village, natural caves, the Stone Church, etc. You may spend a week here to travel to all the tourist destinations. And yes, depending on your health condition and budget that you can stay longer or shorter, add more or fewer destinations in your Sapa itinerary.

Doctors driving from London to Cape Town make it in three months

In a tale of remarkable endurance and determination, doctors James Weller, Karen Chang and James Spence have completed their journey driving from London to Cape Town. It's been more than three months since the trio set off in a Toyota Hilux affectionately named Edna.

After 179 hours of travel, covering a distance of 13,378km, they arrived in the Mother City.

The trip almost ended in Nigeria when Edna took strain and split in half.

“Edna made it to Cape Town. Thank you so much for your love and support throughout our journey,” the trio posted on Instagram .  They acknowledged being behind on their daily posts but promised to catch up and keep their followers updated with real-time stories during their stay in South Africa.

“We are still around two weeks behind our daily reels/picture posts. We will do regular stories in real time to keep you up to date! We look forward to our time exploring South Africa and can't wait for you to see what we get up to,” they said.

The journey garnered 477,000 Instagram followers who shared in the highs and lows of the trip. Among the highlights shared were spectacular sunset views in the Sahara Desert, being stranded at sea in Guinea-Bissau, voodoo rituals in Benin and the taste of African cuisine.

Another moment was when the trio found a puppy at a voodoo market in Benin. “We named Ibie after the voodoo spirit Ibeji. We found him in the voodoo sacrifice market and couldn't bear the thought of him being killed. We would love to keep him but unfortunately it wouldn't be possible for us with the border crossing,” they shared. Fortunately, Ibie found a forever home with Kunle, a worker they met at a mine. “They bonded immediately and Kunle already had two friendly good boys at home.”

The journey was not without danger. They faced threats from wildlife, harsh weather and human hostility. One of the most harrowing experiences occurred in Ghana when Karen was sexually assaulted by a man who masturbated while watching her sleep. This incident underscored the unpredictable and sometimes perilous nature of their expedition.

Frustration as London-to-Cape Town doctors decline new car after getting stuck in Nigeria

Edna, the star of the journey, was equipped for the gruelling trip from day one and played a pivotal role. The team made significant modifications to their vehicle, including a large roof rack with an inflatable cave tent, mud tires, spare wheels, a modified canopy, additional fuel tanks, pull out awning, mounted 13kg gas bottle and pull-out kitchen and fridge.

They crossed multiple time zones and terrains, almost ending after mechanical problems while driving from Nigeria to Cameroon. “Edna snapped in half and we're unsure if we can continue our trip. During the crossing from Nigeria to Cameroon we encountered the worst roads of the trip so far. This put a huge strain on Edna's already compromised chassis,” they posted at the time, appealing for donations to repair the vehicle.

Support poured in, particularly from South Africans who rallied to get Edna back on the road. News of their plight reached Toyota. Recognising the spirit of the journey and the situation of the travellers, Toyota South Africa offered to send a new Hilux GR-Sport to complete their journey. 

However, the trio chose to stick with Edna. “We cannot abandon Edna. She is our mother and one of the crew. We started the journey with her and we aim to complete the journey with her,” they said. Edna was repaired and they continued their journey, which not only showcased the beauty and challenges of travelling across Africa but also the resilience and camaraderie of three adventurers and their beloved vehicle. Users on X expressed relief and excitement as they learnt Edna had arrived in the Mother City in one piece, despite the challenges.

André 3000 Announces Fall North American Tour in Support of ‘New Blue Sun’

Following the release of his critically acclaimed solo album “New Blue Sun” on Epic Records, André 3000 has unveiled a North American tour set for this fall. The instrumental album, co-produced with Carlos Niño and featuring a talented ensemble including Nate Mercereau and Surya Botofasina, marks a new sonic territory for the celebrated artist.

The tour will kick off in New Orleans, including performances at renowned venues such as The Greek Theater in Los Angeles, the John F. André 3000 returning to Detroit on fall tour

André 3000 is heading back to Detroit's Masonic Temple after performing two shows at the venue in February.

The flautist (and greatest rapper alive candidate, though he's sidelined that pursuit for now) will perform at the Masonic's Cathedral Theatre on Oct. 22 as part of a newly announced string of fall concert dates, venue officials announced Tuesday.

Tickets for the show go on sale at 10 a.m. via axs.com. Presale tickets go on sale on Thursday.

The once (and future?) OutKast leader will be joined by his bandmates Carlos Niño, Nate Mercereau, Surya Botofasina and Deantoni Parks. The quintet performed two shows at the Masonic Temple's Chapel on Feb. 9, and performed at downtown jazz club Cliff Bell's a day earlier.

André 3000's instrumental "New Blue Sun" album was released in November 2023.

I tell the bowlers to stick to their strength and just giving them confidence and giving them field placement as they want - all of them, they did well and really happy and really proud that they are improving day by day. We will enjoy our win tonight, but there is a Test match and then a T20 series coming up, so we need to think about our plans for that as well.

Smriti Mandhana | Player of the Series: Unfortunate to miss out on a 100 today. Those kind of shots (sweep) sometimes come off and you need to keep backing yourself. The bowlers bowled really well and for us it is just about applying ourselves with the bat. We have a series left, Asia Cup and then the World Cup. After today's over I don't I will get to bowl again, tried my hand in the previous game and got lucky, always good to add a different skill and if it comes off then it is the best feeling.

Deepti Sharma | Player of the Match: Really enjoyed bowling today and we executed our plans perfectly. I always back my stock ball and stay ready for all kinds of situations. Sometimes you need to contain the batters, so I try to read the situation keeping the pitch in mind as well.

Laura Wolvaardt | South African skipper: Didn't have enough runs on the board, we had a good start and unfortunate to lose too many wickets in the middle and not build any partnerships after that. Looking at how they chased, I think we needed 300 again, just the lack of partnerships hurt us. We have played good cricket in patches, need to be a lot more consistent. Like to see more consistency. We don't play too much of red-ball cricket, have a few days to refresh and get onto the Test plans. I am really excited and looking forward to it.

Shreyanka Patil: When I bowled the first couple of overs (at the start of the innings) there was some turn on the wicket. I wanted Kapp's wicket badly and last night as well I was visualizing getting her out caught driving. Whenever the captain asks me to bowl, I'm happy to bowl at any given point of time and I am happy to bowl the first over today. When we got the first win, we thought we needed to maintain that momentum and make it 3-0. The approach was brilliant from the team today.

Arundhati Reddy: I have never been that great at taking caught and bowled and I was lucky that those catches (Wolvaardt and Bosch) stuck. The conversation with the skipper was to break that (opening) partnership and we stuck to plans and executed them well today. Today's wicket was on the slower side, the previous game the ball was coming on nicely. It was all about sticking to consistently bowling the same line and length on this pitch.

20:20 local, 14:50 GMT: All too easy for India during the chase. Smriti continued her brilliant form at the top, only to narrowly miss out on a third successive ton. Although Shafali and Priya Punia failed to convert starts, the Indian skipper calmed the storm with a 48-ball 42 and nearly stayed till the finish line. South Africa needed early wickets to make the game interesting, but the opening duo dominated in the powerplay to maintain a firm grip on the proceedings. André 3000 to Take His Flute on the Road This Fall for New Blue Sun Headlining Tour

T he former Outkast rapper and musician is embarking on a full North American tour this fall following the release of his 2023 flute-filled solo album, 'New Blue Sun'

André 3000 is no longer a wandering soul playing his flute around the world — he’s officially taking his instrumental act on the road for a full headlining tour.

Less than a year after releasing his critically lauded solo album, New Blue Sun , the former Outkast rapper , 49, is heading out on a North American run this fall, he announced on Tuesday, June 25, along with dates.

From Sept. 19 to Nov. 14, the New Blue Sun - Live in Concert Tour will make stops in New Orleans, Houston, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, Chicago, Brooklyn, and more, where fans will be able to enjoy the mellow sounds of the musician’s flute and his accompanying band.

Tickets go on sale on Friday, June 28, at 10 a.m. local time.

Following the release of his experimental flute album, which arrived on Nov. 17, 2023, André 3000 (real name André Lauren Benjamin) tested his new material on fans at the Atlanta Jazz Festival and Roots Picnic, plus a handful of intimate performances at New York City’s Blue Note Jazz Club earlier this year.

Last year, for GQ ’s Man of the Year series , the “Ms. Jackson” rapper — who got his start as one-half of his culture-shifting hip-hop duo with Big Boi — told the publication that his surprising pivot to woodwind music wasn’t inspired by anything particularly profound.

“Why anything? Why did we record these albums before in my career?” he probed after years of fans begging for a solo rap project. “It is just kind of: Those are the things that came.”

The Speakerboxxx/The Love Below artist added that he did attempt to make a hip-hop album at some point, but the inspiration just didn’t hit.

“Even now people think, Oh, man, he’s just sitting on raps, or he’s just holding these raps hostage,” he continued. “I ain’t got no raps like that. It actually feels…sometimes it feels inauthentic for me to rap because I don’t have anything to talk about in that way. I’m 48 years old. And not to say that age is a thing that dictates what you rap about, but in a way it does.”

Back in January, André 3000 appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert (with his flute in hand) to discuss his New Blue Sun album again, saying it was both “fun” and “scary” to share it with the world. 

“‘Cause you’ve been living with it for like the whole time and then you just kind of… it’s like if you cook for friends,” he explained. “If you cook food, you know what it tastes like, your taste buds have been popping, and you serve it to them and look at their face to see, ‘Are your taste buds kind of like mine?’”

Speaking on his album’s “no bars” warning label, the “Hey Ya!” rapper said it seemed “fair” to give listeners a heads-up that New Blue Sun wouldn’t feature the signature rhymes that earned him nine Grammy awards. “I wouldn’t want people to buy something thinking there was going to be a thing,” said the “Life of the Party” rapper, “so I wanted to let people know as soon as possible and as loud as possible.”
