Ted Nugent is one of the building blocks of rock as we learned it and still understand it today. His band paved the way for tons of double entendre and rather risque lyrics to accessorize hard, driving, and loud music underneath.

The band was nothing short of amazing in the 70s when they broke through with "Cat Scratch Fever" and took the world by storm. The screaming, insisting vocals and the pulsing beat was a perfect lure for an audience starved for an abrasive, coarse sound. Ted Nugent was there, and he brought it with determination and conviction.I had a chance to catch Ted Nugent on a recent trip to Lake Buena Vista which is right near Orlando.

My husband and I decided we'd give it a shot, and if it sucked we would head on out. We were happily surprised by not only the amount of people attending the concert but the variation in age, race, and all walks of life. An audience like that gives a band like Ted Nugent a future.

They took the stage, and between some songs told stories that related to the tune they were about to play or just had played. The whole performance felt very positive and very intimate.

When I looked at the DTE Energy Theatre's concert schedule this summer, Mr. Ted Nugent was at the top of my Must-See list. Despite my young age of 18, Ted and others within his genre have always captured my attention. My dad bought me the Nugent tickets for my 18th birthday. Despite the fact that the Motor City Madman is getting up there in age, this 66-year-old rockstar still has it. He plays the guitar better than anyone I know. He's got quick fingers, a fantastic band backing him, and a perfect sense of humor (even if it's a little...adult). He makes you laugh with his jokes bashing the president and he melts your face with his guitar shredding. I've listened to this man on the radio for as long as I can remember; from Cat Scratch Fever, to Stranglehold, to Fred Bear. This was the very first time I've seen him live and he didn't let me down. I loved every second of this concert. Even though I had lawn tickets for the hillside, everything was as perfect as I could have ever asked for. This was a great birthday present, and I'm glad I can add Uncle Ted to my list of Concerts I Must See AGAIN.

Awesome show. At 70 years old he is still the motor city madman. Great guitar work and his pro American attitude was exactly what I expected. If I had to pick something to complain about it would be that he didn't wear his native American headdress during "Great Whit Buffalo" like I have seen him do so many times. Not a problem...I left the Starland Ballroom with a smile on my fave and my ears ringing!

Great Show! Alittle repetitive and boring in the beginning but mid way through the atmosphere changed, the light show got brighter and better, the amps got louder, and they jammed like never before!! This 69 year old Rocker has more energy and enthusiasm then most Classic Class Acts. "Nugent" is a must see and definately an add to my list of future shows.

At 69 years old, Uncle Ted has still got the talent. He can still rock like he always has. The 3 man band makes a sound like no other. I remember in the 80's when he rocked thousands of us. The show was GREAT! If you get a chance to see him, spend the $$ and go! You won't regret it.

Had a great time, I just wish it had been longer. If you get the chance, go see him!

Nugent at Scoot Inn was incredible. Ted is in fine shape and still playing fantastic guitar. Stranglehold live was worth the trip by itself.

Never been to Scoot Inn - what a great venue. Small, intimate outdoor setting. Looking forward to going back.

Love Ted Nugent love him music. Wish I could see him in concert. Hope one day he will come near Dothan AL. I know we are a small town but there are a lot of people my age and younger that would go see him.

Awesome performance, a few things his mic was messed up but other than that it was awesome . The seats could have had more room to work with but love his music.

The Amboy Dukes were an American rock band best remembered for their hit single "Journey to the Center of the Mind", and for launching the career of Ted Nugent. The band's name comes from the title of a novel by Irving Shulman about a Jewish street gang of the same name in the Brownsville neighborhood of Brooklyn during the 1940s.

Taylor Swift: A sweet story of love and football? Or a plot against democracy? | Anderson

During semester, my Sunday afternoons consist primarily of tuning up “Canvas,” and grading, with the occasional ride for a break in the action.

I haven’t watched football in more than five years. I saw that awful movie about concussions on a plane ride once and decided to cut it out of my system. But I watched last Sunday – absolutely. And we all know why.

I lived in the Kansas City area (a lovely, enchanting zone in many other ways, I’ll attest) in the midst of the longest drought in Chiefs history. They’d managed to stay out of the serious end of the playoffs entirely from 1993 to 2018. Coming back was a little weird, but it wasn’t about the football, anyway. The game was almost irrelevant. It because of Taylor Swift .

Swift is not usually on my playlist, but she’s on the playlist of an awful lot of folks I know – primarily young, but she’s captured some older hearts, too. She hits the sweet spot of heartache and redemption in a way that drills into you. She’d had plenty, I guess, and a lot of other folks had, too. Her songs just hit ‘em.

She’s also one of the hardest working musicians out there: her Eras tour did 145-plus shows from March until November. She’s not only massively popular, she’s a nice person, too. She gives big bonuses to her workers. She contributes to food pantries.

And she’s in love. With a football player. Which means she goes to his games, hangs out with his family and cheers on the team in their apparently unstoppable drive to yet another Super Bowl.

So how is it that this harmless sidenote is “political” news?

Taylor Swift also registers voters. Young voters. New voters. Billboard reported that a single Swift Instagram post urging registration caused a surge of 35,000 new voter signups on Vote.Org.

“I’ve heard you raise your voices, and I know how powerful they are…” she wrote.

And the nervous nellies of the GOP suspect these voters might not be Republicans. Though Swift’s voter registration effort was non-partisan, she has endorsed Democratic candidates in the recent past. Swift is not known to be a fan of Donald Trump, and she’s young, talented and sings beautifully, so she’s suspicious .

The coverage of her fandom has dominated the story – if not the timeline – of this year’s NFL playoff wars. It’s charming, fun and light. Americans love a love story.

As the Chiefs wrapped up a stunning upset of the favored Ravens for the AFC championship, Swift and boyfriend Travis Kelce kissed on the field, and every warped keyboard mutant and an army of Russian bot farms screamed into a high-pitched, shattering internet shriek .

“X” was aflame with trolls , rat-scurrying to load up and fire every possible conspiracy thread — no matter how idiotic or nut-hatched — into the ether in a wretched, pathetic effort to sling swill in Swift’s general direction.

It was completely unhinged, but impressive in its sheer output. And in its absurdity. They tied together the DNC, the Kelce brothers, Travis’ mom, RINOs, Swift, Chinese communists and the insidious National Football League in one vast cabal that had somehow subverted football itself for their evil plots. Sigh.

Swift is a force of nature, heart and hard work. She has attracted a massive army of fans who could very quickly turn into an intense political force majeure , should she decide to enter the fray in a serious way. She does not strike me as a particularly vengeful person, even after this barrage of slander. But perhaps (after the Super Bowl, of course) all that might change.

But for the stodgy GOP, there’s hope. My understanding, enlightened by a famous Republican “influencer,” is that they’ve got an answer. Even as we fret, the GOP has closeted Ted Nugent, Kid Rock and Jon Voight in the caddy’s locker room of Mar-a-Lago, to plan the inevitable star-studded counter-punch. I, for one, can’t wait to see that matchup.
