A railway journey | A railway journey essay with quotations | A railway journey paragraph

It is said that to go to travel is to go to school. It means that by travelling from one city or country to another, we can learn a lot about life, the world around us, human nature, man's behaviour and his actions and reactions in odd circumstances. Those who are inquisitive by nature travel extensively and gain knowledge about customs, traditions, rites, rituals and ways of living of different people belonging to different creeds and countries. They communicate this knowledge to us through their travelogues which are read with great interest and admiration throughout the world.

Unfortunately, I am one of those who are though not idle and dull, hate moving from place to place reading people's faces, commenting on their behaviour and inferring some bad results. Whenever I have to travel to some other city, I just feel sick. On the train, I occupy a seat near a window, close my eyes and dive deep into the ocean of sleep But last month, during my journey from Multan to Lahore I had to keep my eyes wide open because I was forced to keep standing on my thin and lean legs for hours by a fat, piggish a woman who had occupied my seat.

Eld brings blessings of God who purifies our souls. But it also brings golden opportunities for those who like to collect illegal gratification to fill their children's bellies with the fire of hell One such rogue had resold my seat to the lady. The compartment was jam-packed but still more passengers were trying to enter it. They were pushing and pulling one another. Some were abusing the railway authorities who had not made proper arrangements for the people to travels on the occasion of Eid.

Three educated persons who were discussing moral values, social problems and political chaos of the country refused to give some space to the old man who pleaded that he was sick and would not be able to stand.

An old man bought a newspaper but he could not read it himself. The passengers who were sitting beside him requested him to give them the inner pages. The old man grumbled but handed over the newspaper to them. The newspaper travelled in the whole compartment and after an hour or two when it came back in the hands of the old man it was worn and torn. It could now be used as toilet paper only.

In the meantime, beggars kept pouring in, Lame, blind, widows, sick and orphan all kinds of beggars were there to expose our social, moral and economic bankruptcy.

I was now dead tired. My legs were also numb. I could not stand it anymore. The big, fat lady was snoring like an elephant. All of a sudden, the train stopped with a jerk and I losing my balance fell into her lap. I felt as if I had fallen on some big balloon. The lady screamed loudly, opened her eyes and with her giant hands threw me to the front seat. Now it was my turn to close the eyes. Perhaps I was unconscious. When I opened my eyes, I was in my Chachu's bedroom. He was standing near me and singing,

"Kinnae kinnae jana ay Billo thay ghar". I cried, "No, no! I'll not go anywhere. Not even to Billo's ghar".

A Journey by Train Essay/Paragraph

During last summer vacation, I went on a family trip to Puri with my family. This was my first long journey by train. We reached the Howrah railway station with all our luggage quite early. The train departed from Howrah at around 9 o’clock in the morning. When I looked outside everything was running behind, I loved that scene. The train was moving quite fast. The whole train was crowded.

After boarding, we had our breakfast. I always prefer a window seat, because I can enjoy beautiful nature from there. I was impressed by the beauty of the landscape. Watching the beautiful natural scenes outside gave me extreme happiness. The train finally reached the Puri station at 6 o’clock in the evening. It was an exciting train journey.

Short Essay on A Journey by Train

Train journeys are always very exciting. We get to meet a lot of new people. Two weeks back had a train journey. The name of the train was Howrah-Dhanbad Black Diamond Express. My destination was Asansol. The train departed from Howrah around 6.40 in the morning. The weather was pleasant and I took a window seat.

Most of the passengers inside the train compartment were either reading a newspaper or sleeping. I started reading one of my favourite novels. The constant yelling of the hawkers forced me to close the book and look out of the window. Around 8.30 in the morning I bought a cup of coffee and a packet of biscuits from a hawker. Having small sips in the coffee concentrated on the visuals and images that changed rapidly outside the train compartment.

I noticed that concrete jungle have paved its way to lush green fields and ponds with trees surrounding them. Farmers were tilling children were going to school through the mud track. The ambiance outside was serene and in complete contrast with the atmosphere inside the train.

Introduction:

Once I read a poem. I still remember some of  its lines as follows:

“All of the sights of the hill and the plain Fly as thick as driving rain; And ever again, in the wink of an eye Painted stations whistle by.” (From A Railway Carriage-RL Stevenson)

A journey by a speeding train is an exciting experience. The modern age seems to be obsessed with speed. So people prefer to travel by the railways than by road.

Description of the Journey:

One day, my father announced that we were going to visit Shantiniketan during the winter holidays. I was simply thrilled. On the scheduled day, we reached Howrah station in the morning. The Shantiniketan Express stood majestically at the platform. The station was humming with the din and bustle. There were rings of people before the ticket counters. We entered a compartment and settled down for the journey. I managed a seat beside a window. Soon the signal was green at the far end of the platform. Within a minute, the train began to move. We glided out of the station. Then it picked up speed.

As the train thundered on, I surrendered my ears to the rattle of the train wheels. They were making rickety-rackety sounds when they rolled over the tracks. I looked outside through the window to get a view of the Nature outside. The train was passing by harvested fields, meadows, brooklets, and small ponds. Through the window, the world outside looked like a motion picture. Everything looked very bright and pleasant in the morning sunshine.

I looked about my compartment. Father was flipping through a magazine. Mother was chatting with an elderly couple. The hawkers and vendors were selling various foodstuffs. A beggar was singing a song while begging. In the meantime, the train reached at Guskara station. After half an hour it reached Bolpur.

My Feelings:

I got spellbound to see the fantastic wild beauty of nature through the window. The greatness of God manifested in nature’s creations. I remembered some lines of a poem-

“The true pleasing spirits sight’s That may breed true love’s delights” (Nicholas Breton)

The breeze was gentle, fresh, glorious, and a pleasure to breathe. It was pouring into our compartment from outside. I sometimes lost my sense of individuality and seemed to expand through the window. Thus, I wanted to establish a magical link with nature.

Conclusion:

Thus ended my first train journey. This journey was so pleasant that l experienced an intense high.

Trains Are More Than Transportation

Not only is a train a means of transportation, it links individuals and gives them access to resources like employment, communities, and commodities. It provides necessary social services. An additional significant advantage of train travel is the stunning scenery one gets to see enroute to their destination. One may take in the scenery while the train goes, including views of the countryside, farms, woods, factories, etc. This makes train trips more thorough than those by air. There are several ways to spend time on trains. One could read a book, chat with fellow passengers, watch movies, or even play games. Trains usually provide a friendly atmosphere as people often gel with their fellow passengers and form new friendships.

My Train Journey To Shillong

One of my uncles manages a tea plantation in Shillong. He invited my family to visit during the harvesting season. We decided to go for a vacation. We arrived at the Kolkata train station at 9 am on the scheduled day and bought 3 tickets for the 11 am train. The station has improved significantly since it first started. Coming from Kolkata, it was a lengthy journey.

During my journey on the train, many hawkers entered while I was inside the train. They were selling a variety of goods. Some were selling candies and snacks, others were selling copies of documents, perfumes, and so on. These local railway hawkers were known for their ability to outsell any copywriter with their own sales pitch. They did not use boring or lifeless sales pitches.

While selling goods, some people performed songs while others impersonated politicians. They had a really unique appreciation for books. This journey was one of my core memories as it was my first train journey ever. Me and my family had a lot of fun on the train journey from Kolkata to Shillong.

My train journey from Lucknow to Kathgodam is probably 8-10 hours duration. However, I enjoy every minute of it in spite of the journey being so long. Furthermore, all along the journey, one can purchase items of food and drinks. I almost always purchase meals and refreshments at least twice in the journey.

When slumber overtakes me, I make use of the sleeping berth. I personally find sleeping on the train berth very comfortable. When I wake after a deep sleep, mountains are visible from a distance. Moreover, as the train approaches Kathgodam with menacing speed, the view of mountains gets bigger and bigger. Also, my amusement greatly rises as I see the Himalayas draw closer. Essay on Journey By Train 200+ Words

Picture this: You’re sitting by the window, watching the world go by, as the rhythmic clatter of wheels on tracks fills the air. A journey by train is not just a means of transportation; it’s an adventure filled with scenic beauty, historic significance, and a touch of nostalgia. In this essay, I will argue that a journey by train is a unique and captivating experience that offers a window into the heart and soul of a region.

The Scenic Beauty

One of the most captivating aspects of a train journey is the stunning scenery that unfolds outside your window. Whether you’re crossing vast landscapes, traversing rolling hills, or gliding alongside rivers, the views are often breathtaking. For example, a train ride through the Swiss Alps offers panoramic vistas of snow-capped peaks and lush valleys.

Experts in travel and tourism highlight the scenic beauty of train journeys as a major attraction. Many travelers choose train travel specifically to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the regions they pass through.

The Historical Significance

Trains are more than just a mode of transportation; they are a symbol of progress and history. The construction of railroads played a pivotal role in shaping countries and connecting distant regions. For instance, the Trans-Siberian Railway in Russia is a marvel of engineering that spans thousands of miles, linking Moscow to Vladivostok.

Historians emphasize the historical significance of train travel. Trains have been central to the development of nations and the movement of goods and people.

The Nostalgia Factor

There’s something nostalgic about a journey by train. It harks back to a time when travel was more leisurely, and the journey was as important as the destination. The sound of the train’s whistle, the clickety-clack of the wheels, and the cozy compartments evoke a sense of nostalgia for days gone by.

Literature and art often romanticize train travel, capturing its nostalgic charm. Films, books, and songs have celebrated the allure of trains and the emotions they evoke.

The Sense of Connection

A train journey provides a unique sense of connection to the places you pass through. Unlike air travel, where you often land in large airports far from the heart of a city, trains take you right into the heart of towns and cities. You can witness daily life unfolding outside your window, from bustling markets to serene countryside.

Travel enthusiasts praise train travel for its ability to create a deeper connection to the regions and people you encounter. It allows you to engage with local culture and experience the authentic essence of a place.

Environmental Benefits

Trains are also an environmentally friendly mode of transportation. They produce fewer greenhouse gas emissions per passenger mile compared to cars and airplanes. Trains are energy-efficient and contribute to reducing air pollution and congestion on the roads.

Environmental experts emphasize the sustainability of train travel as a way to reduce the carbon footprint of transportation. Choosing trains over other modes of travel can have a positive impact on the environment.

Conclusion of Essay on Journey By Train

In conclusion, a journey by train is more than just a way to get from one place to another; it’s a captivating experience that offers a window into the world’s beauty, history, and nostalgia. The scenic beauty, historical significance, and sense of connection make train travel a unique adventure. Moreover, the environmental benefits of train travel make it a responsible choice for those who care about our planet. So, next time you have the opportunity, consider embarking on a journey by train, and let the rails take you on a magical ride through both space and time.

Essay on Train Journey

A train is not just a vehicle. It carries emotion; it carries the joy of moving forward, it carries the thrill of speed. Many times, when we read about any train journey in a book or on the internet, we are told the story of traveling in inter-state trains. However, a local train-journey is not devoid of thrill, adventure and happiness either. There is a thrill of being on time, the adventure of exploring local sites and the happiness of being able to travel comfortably and safely.

Details of My Memorable Train Journey

Last week I traveled to ____________ from _____________ on a local train. It was my maiden train journey. I had always dreamt of visiting ___________ and too by a Train. I was very excited and had made all the arrangements on the previous night. I woke up earlier that day, had my bath and  breakfast. I prepared myself for the journey I was very excited about, I wore my favorite clothes and took some light snacks with me.  I reached the station at 10 am. Just from the first look at the station I knew this was going to be a very thrilling and adventurous journey. The station itself had many stories to tell. There were so many people- families, office-goers, masons, laborers, vendors, the fruit hawkers and food sellers and so on. All looked so busy, so full of life.  I checked into the station and located the platform where my Train was going to arrive. I reached the particular platform no. and sat on one of the many available benches. There were many people waiting for their respective trains. One train arrived just 5 mins after I reached the platform but that was to a separate destination and my train was coming after that. People boarded that train, it waited for a few minutes and after that it departed. As I was sitting in the station for my train to arrive, I saw many trains come and go at different platforms. A deep realization engulfed me- the trains come and go, the station remains the same.

My Experience of Train Journey

Almost 15 minutes later, our train arrived. The train was pretty new and had a very attractive color combination of maroon and blue painted on it. It had “Made In India” written on it in  big letters and our national flag was painted next to it. I felt very proud about it and got more excited about this journey. Since this was my first time travelling by train, I wanted to experience the moment at its fullest and thus before boarding the train I waited to see how the passengers boarded the train and how people wanted to get in first so that they could sit on a seat. After I was done with my experience, I boarded the train before its departure time. I got into the train and was eagerly looking for a seat so that I could sit.  There was so much rush as it was office hour. At first, there was no seat for us to sit. All those who were standing were trying to get themselves a seat but once we moved for a few minutes, everyone settled with their position in the Train, some got a seat and some didn’t. The train started moving and the station moved backwards. The sound it created as the Train moved was something new to me, I had heard it in the movies and dramas but experiencing it first hand was something very enthralling. I was imagining how this sound was being created as the train rolled on the tracks, the giant size and huge weight of the train could be realized as the train accelerated and the sound got louder. It felt so amazing to imagine that the train was still but the trees and the houses were moving. However, it was hard for me to look out from the window because of the crowd. I still managed to stand near the window and get myself a look outside. There were green meadows somewhere and at some places we could see the concrete jungles, buildings and houses constructed alongside the train track. The beauty of green meadows is what I liked the most and wished we could have more of them, the beauty of nature I experienced in the moving train seemed to be more lively and soothing than the commercial areas. There were different kinds of people in the train involved in distinct activities of their own, some in the groups and some alone. The office goers were the regular commuters, so they remained in their group and talked about politics and the sports. The women in the train were sitting and wiping the sweat off their faces. I saw two senior citizens. They were standing. It felt good to see that some of the passengers offered their seats to those two people. However, there were some rowdies too in the train who were standing near the door and were blocking the entrance. People were finding it hard to enter the train because of them.

As two or three stations passed, the crowd in the train became thin. Now, I can enjoy the journey. I got a seat. The typical sound of the train moving had a rhythm to it. It felt musical. While seated, I could feel the rhythm of the moving train in a better way. I grabbed the snacks I had with me and started to enjoy the journey. Outside the window, I could see the meadows, the houses, the cows and goats. The train was moving at a decent speed and the air from the window brushed my face. It felt good in the sweltering heat. There was a couple sitting on the opposite seat. They had a 5-year old daughter traveling with them. Somehow, the family and I started a conversation and it felt good to meet new people.

I talked to other people in the train as well and they told me about the conveniences the train travel gives them over taking a cab or driving a car themselves. They also explained the difficulties they face in the Train travel like rushin the train, delays in the train timing, cancellation of trains at times and inadequate  seating capacity of the trains. But most of them were very happy with the new trains, people explained that these trains were more comfortable and affordable to them and also the cancellation and delay problems were very less with the new trains.

While I was on the train, many hawkers boarded the compartment. They were selling different kinds of things. Some were selling toffees and snack items, some were selling files and copies, some were selling perfumes and so on. The speciality of these local train hawkers was, they can outshine any advertisement-writer with their own sales-pitch. Their sales pitches were not bland and dry. Some sang songs, some imitated the politicians while selling things. They had a very distinct sense of literature.

At this point I realized how different forms of employment were generated by introduction of railways and I couldn't even imagine the number of families that were dependent on the trains for their livelihood. I also got to know the fact that Indian railways is the largest employer in India and employs about 1500000 people. The hawkers were changing frequently, they boarded at one station and unboarded after a few stations. Then new hawkers came in at that station and the cycle continued.

There was one thing that I wish I had not experienced. Apart from the green meadows and huge constructions that I saw from the windows, I also saw countless huts and tin-shade houses. There were many slums that were present beside the rail line. The poverty all around was disheartening to see. I could see the children living in these huts and tin houses, somewhere playing and some were helping their parents in doing their work. I wished that they could go to the school and get education so that they could be earning good and could then help their parents and build themselves decent houses. I promised myself to help these poor people when I start earning money.

The train was about to reach my destination station, the rush had again built up and I thought of going near the exit so that it would be easier for me to unboard. I prepared my bag and offered my seat to another person who was standing near my seat. As the train stopped at my destination station, I got down. After leaving the station, I felt like I was living on another planet for the past 40 minutes. It was not a train journey. It was an epiphany.

A long journey by train is just an exciting experience. At times, it can be tiring, but we get a lot of pleasure. I remember when I was in Class 8th, I went to Bangalore with my whole family to spend the summer vacation. Flight journeys might take only a few hours, and train journeys are time-consuming, but I love to travel by train with them. We see a lot of vendors coming in to sell tea, ice cream, biscuits, peanuts, etc. Those are the most exciting parts of a train journey when we buy food and share it with everyone. We meet a lot of new people around us and spend some time with them.

A train journey is the most precious thing for me. It is even more exciting when I am travelling with my friends and family. I remember when I was travelling to Mumbai with my whole family for my cousin’s marriage. It was a great experience for me because it was the second time when I was travelling out of my hometown. It was beautiful to watch people crossing the train, which looked like a train and bike competition, and some kids waved their hands to say goodbye. Compared to a flight journey, sitting on the window seat and enjoying nature is so precious. It is even more beautiful to watch the sunset between the hills while enjoying the evening tea. Every time a tea vendor crossed, my mother would call him and buy us some snacks. Even if you are on a diet, it becomes hard for you to restrict yourself to rush to the food stall in every station. If you are bored, you can read a newspaper or a magazine, a story book, etc.

Train journey is the most exciting and most enjoyable experience of my life. I remember when I was travelling to Bangalore with my friends. My friends were the add ons to my excitement. We were seven friends travelling together and we enjoyed the most in those 24 hours. We were the attraction of all the passengers around us as we engaged them all with different games, music, and dance. We bought food and shared it with them. The beauty of nature can be enjoyed while travelling by train and it is more exciting when you are with your friends or family. When the train stops, we would rush to a food stall and eat different foods of our choice and they gave us immense satisfaction. When the vendors cross by us shouting and repeating all the foods, we would just look at each other and order the food without even a second thought. We would have eaten tummy full but still order the food just to satisfy our cravings. After we reached there, my friend’s family waited for us and treated us really well. But we were not so satisfied with those hours. We shared the contact numbers of our fellow passengers and are still in contact with them.

I have travelled many times with my family. I have travelled by flight, by train, etc. But the most exciting one was when I was travelling to Mumbai with my family. The plan to visit Mumbai was made just to have a great time by train. There was no specific reason to travel or visit Mumbai but the train journey is so fascinating for us that we decided to travel by train. We just spent three days in Mumbai and had a great time shopping but we spent 5 days travelling by train. A train journey can never be compared with any other journey or any other excitement. Travelling by flight would just take a few hours and it is the fastest means to travel and saves a lot of time. But at times, we just miss our train journeys, we miss the continuous calls of the stall vendors shouting biryani, chai… garam chai…, bread omelette, etc. When we miss the train journeys, this chorus would just bounce in our ears. The train would pass through the villages, forests, seas, rivers, etc. This makes the train journey so exciting because we meet nature closely.

While travelling from one place to the other by train, we get in contact with different people. We make new friends, the children enjoy the most, and there are a lot of memories. It is so hard to control our cravings while travelling by train. We would rush to a food stall and buy any food, and parents would not even stop us.

Essay on My First Journey by Train in 500 Words

Travelling by train is so much fun, cosy, and interesting. Indian railways have made intercity and interstate journeys so interesting and smooth. My first journey by train was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I will never forget.

My First Journey by Train

My first journey by train was from Delhi to Dehradun. This was a 6-hour 20-minute journey with my family, where we all laughed, ate lunch, and watched the beauty of the Ganga Plains.

When I saw the New Delhi Railway Station, I had a mixed feeling of excitement and anxiety, nervousness and exhilaration. Everyone at the station was in a hurry, the platform was filled with passengers waiting for their train, and the classic Indian Railway announcement was over the speakers.

As I stepped off the train in Dehradun, a sense of achievement swept through me. I was amazed not only by the destination but also by the amazing journey. My wanderlust was sparked by this first train trip, which was a treasure trove of experiences that left me with lifelong memories.

Advantages of Journey by Train

  • Trains let you stretch out and sleep on long journeys, unlike buses or cars.
  • There isn’t a luggage limitation. Unlike flying, where there is a weight limit, travelling by rail allows one to bring as much luggage as they desire.
  • Long trips are made more comfortable by the restrooms on trains.
  • On a train, one can work or study in comfort using a laptop. As a result, the time spent travelling can be used effectively.
  • Trains are much more cost-effective than taxis and aeroplanes. It is possible to travel large distances at a low price.

Disadvantages of Journey by Train

  • The requirement to arrange the trip and purchase tickets several days in advance is one of the main drawbacks of taking the train. This is not like travelling by bus or vehicle, where one can make plans and start the journey the next day.
  • Purchasing a ticket might be rather demanding. When purchasing tickets at the train station, customers must wait in queue for hours. Purchasing train tickets online also takes a lot of time because the railway booking website might occasionally become quite slow owing to high usage.
  • Although there are restrooms and washrooms on the trains, they are not as sanitary and clean as they ought to be.
  • There are several reasons why trains are frequently delayed. This can be very tiresome and irritating.
  • Train travel takes far longer than aeroplane travel. For people who have an urgent need to get somewhere, it is not a good alternative.

Travelling by train has its benefits and drawbacks. While making advance plans, purchasing tickets, and adhering to rigorous train schedules might be annoying, they also have certain benefits, such as comfortable travel and efficient use of time. I truly enjoy taking train trips, having taken several of them.

Watching villages, cultures, and houses pass by as you speed across the countryside has always piqued my curiosity for better. It’s truly fascinating how a train journey can enhance your knowledge about cultures, regions, languages, and cuisines. The journey is like reading a captivating book that has all the ingredients to keep you entertained until you reach your destination.

One significant advantage of a journey by train is that it provides an excellent opportunity to interact with people from completely different ethnicities and linguistic backgrounds. The diversity of passengers on a train is like a Railway Journey Narrative in itself, where you can learn from the stories and experiences of your fellow travelers.

Short essay on ‘a journey by train’ – essay 1 (200 words).

Train journeys are super fun, especially when traveling by train with a group of friends. One of my most memorable journeys by train was my journey from Delhi to Jaipur. It was a school trip, and we were all really excited about it. We had numerous plans for the trip and were especially looking forward to having a great time on our way.

We all reached the railway station by 6 in the morning, and the train ride started within a few minutes. I occupied the window seat to see the view outside. The view of the green fields, muddy roads, and huts on the way was delightful. My best friend sat beside me, and we chatted as we looked outside.

Soon, it was time for breakfast. I loved the cutlets and bread served on the train. We also had hot tomato soup after having a plate of bread and cutlets. After breakfast, we all decided to play antakshari . Playing antakshari in large groups is always fun. Our teachers also joined us, thereby adding to the fun. We played antakshari for the rest of the journey, and before we even knew it, we had reached our destination. It was a great experience. The company of my friends made this train journey all the more gleeful.

Essay on ‘A Journey by Train to Shimla’ – Essay 3 (300 words)

Train journeys hold a unique charm, especially when they lead to enchanting destinations like Shimla. However, what makes the journey even more captivating is the special toy train that runs from Kalka to Shimla, winding through breathtaking landscapes. A trip to Shimla remains incomplete without experiencing this iconic train ride. Thus, we planned our Shimla trip well in advance and secured our tickets for this much-talked-about train journey.

Our Journey to Shimla by Toy Train

During last year’s autumn break, we embarked on a memorable journey to Shimla. We began our travel by bus to Kalka, the starting point of our adventure with the toy train. Initially, I expected it to be just another train journey, offering glimpses of mountains and valleys. However, it turned out to be an exhilarating and extraordinary experience. Throughout our journey, we found ourselves immersed in the lap of nature, not merely observing the mountains, valleys, and lush greenery, but feeling like an integral part of this natural wonder as the train gracefully traversed the mountains.

Spanning a duration of 5-6 hours, this journey was filled with thrills and excitement. The route featured a multitude of tunnels and bridges that added to the allure. There were more than 100 tunnels and approximately 800 bridges along the route. I remained glued to the window seat, relishing the splendid vistas outside. At one point, the train made a brief stop at a quaint station, affording us a brief ten-minute break to explore.

Throughout the journey, my parents and brother shared in my delight, finding it as enjoyable as I did. We chose the same train for our return journey, unwilling to miss out on a second opportunity to savor this captivating experience.

Undoubtedly, this train journey stands out as the most remarkable one in my life. My deep love for nature made this journey even more special. I sincerely hope for a chance to traverse this enchanting route once more, as it left an indelible mark on my heart.

Essay on ‘My First Train Journey’ – Essay4 (400 words)

My First Train Journey

My very first train journey was an unforgettable experience that I embarked on when I was in the 2nd standard. It was a special trip to attend my maternal aunt’s wedding in Dehradun. As soon as the news of the wedding spread, excitement and joy filled our home. My mother began planning her outfits, while my father organized our travel arrangements. We decided to travel by train, accompanied by a few relatives, marking my maiden voyage on a train.

Planning the Train Journey

Train journeys require meticulous planning for a smooth and enjoyable trip. My parents carefully studied the available trains on our route to select the most convenient option. We booked our tickets well in advance, packed our bags, and ensured that all necessary arrangements were in place for our journey.

The Journey Begins

Our train journey commenced as a night voyage. We arrived at the railway station on time, settled into our seats, and, within a few minutes, the train began its journey.

Fun on the Way

As we greeted our relatives and settled in for the long journey, there was an air of excitement. Many of us hadn’t seen each other in months, so there was plenty to catch up on. I sat with my cousins, and we eagerly planned to make the most of this train journey. They had brought along board games, and we engaged in an entertaining one.

After a few rounds of the game, it was time for dinner. The food served on the train was surprisingly delectable. Following dinner, I found a cozy spot by the window. Despite the darkness of the night, I enjoyed the rhythmic sounds of the moving train, a novel experience for me.

As everyone finished their meals, we decided to play antakshari . Our relatives enthusiastically joined in, and we sang songs and played antakshari for an hour before it was time to rest.

A Scenic Morning

The next morning, I awoke early and was greeted by a stunning view outside the window. The lush green fields, the rising sun, the distant hills, and the charming huts along the way — everything appeared exceptionally beautiful. This scenic morning view was the highlight of my train journey.

In hindsight, my first train journey was incredibly exciting and fascinating. I cherished every moment of it, and the delightful company of my cousins added an extra layer of enjoyment to the experience.

Long Essay on Journey by Train

Essay on ‘a memorable journey by train’ – essay 4 (500 words).

Introduction

I have gone on many train journeys with my family as well as friends. Travelling by train is comfortable and enjoyable. I always prefer train journeys over road trips for the experience they offer. I have made great memories on these trips. While I have enjoyed all my train journeys, my train travel from Delhi to Goa is the closest to my heart.

Journey from Delhi to Goa

I went for a trip to Goa with my classmates when I was in seventh standard. The trip was planned by the school. After much persuasion, my parents agreed to send me on the trip. Most of my friends also got the consent from their parents. We planned to do a lot of fun things on the trip.

Besides, site-seeing and having fun with friends on the trip, I was also excited about the train journey. The train journey from Delhi to Goa was for around one and a half day. This was the longest journey I had ever gone on. I was really looking forward to it.

My parents dropped me to the station. They were a bit anxious as this was the first time I was travelling so far without them. My mother gave me last minute instructions and I nodded obediently as I eagerly awaited the train. We left from Delhi at around 5 in the evening. I sat by the window with one of my friends by my side.

Travelling with Friends

Travelling with friends is always fun. I had been to Jaipur, Nanital and Shimla with my friends. All these trips were planned by our school. We travelled by train on all these trips and had a lot of fun on the way but none of them involved so much travelling. Most of these were overnight journeys. But on our trip to Goa we spent one night and one and a half day in the train.

I kept sitting by the window for the first two-three hours of the journey. I loved the view outside. As it started getting dark, I joined my friends who were playing dumb charades. We kept playing this game until it was time for dinner. After having our dinner, we chatted until late night. We shared our experiences, narrated interesting stories and mimicked our teachers. It was all great fun. I slept comfortably at night and woke up late.

The breakfast was served almost immediately after I woke up. After having the breakfast, I went and stood by the train door which was half opened. The view outside was beautiful. I love nature and I can watch the trees, hills and the water bodies for hours. It soothes and pleases my senses and offers a delightful experience.

I kept standing there for a long time. One of my friends joined me there. We enjoyed the view and spoke about our love for travelling and nature. During the rest of the day, we played games, had food and chatted with each other. We reached Goa at around 11 at night.

This train journey was an awesome experience. I enjoyed it thoroughly and made several beautiful memories on the way.

I have been on many train journeys since my childhood. I have gone to Mount Abu, Udaipur, Varanasi, Shimla, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Bombay and many other places with family, friends and relatives. I have travelled to most of these places by train. What I love most about train journeys is the view outside. I love to sit by the window and watch the natural surroundings that come by during the journey. I often take a novel along as I love reading while travelling.

Train journeys become all the more fun when we are travelling in groups. There are so many fun things to do on the way. We crack jokes, sing songs, play games and chit chat for hours during the journey. We also get a chance to meet new people. It feels great when we meet like-minded people on our way. It makes the trip quite enjoyable. There is so much to talk about and share. I have made quite a few friends during my train journeys.

Train journeys have their set of advantages and disadvantages. While planning ahead, booking tickets and strict train schedules can be a put off; comfortable travel and good utilization of time are some of the advantages it offers. I have been on several train journeys and I really look forward to them.

Essay No. 01

A Scene at Railway Station

A railway station is an interesting place. It is a human museum or a fair of human faces. Yesterday, I went to the Railway Station to see off my friend. We reached there half an hour earlier than the time arrival of the train. There were only a few persons in a queue before the booking office window. We bought tickets and went to the platform. There was a big crowd of people. The coolies were carrying luggage from one platform to another. Some passengers were looking in the direction of the incoming train.

All the waiting rooms were overcrowded. There were some passengers in the refreshment room. There was a great rush at the tea stalls at the refreshment the train reached in then everybody was hurrying. People were trying to get good capacity. People threw language through the windows. There was a great rush in and out. The hawkers were crying the names of their wares at the top of their voices. Watermen were supplying water to thirsty passengers. Porters were loading and unloading parcels from out of the parcel van. The whole station staff was busy.

Luckily, my friend got a comfortable seat in the second-class compartment. The guard whistled and waved the green flag. The train moved on. People on the platform left the place one by one. Now the noise and uproar were gone. I also took my way home. The platform looked like a deserted place. All its hustle and bustle was over in a few minutes.

A Scene At The Railway Station

In front of the second class booking window, there was a long queue of passengers. They were waiting for their turns to get tickets. When the window opened, they pushed one another. An old man fell. At once a policeman ran for his help. he saved him from being crushed. He purchased a ticket for him.

At the platform, there was a large number of passengers. They were waiting for the train. Some were sitting on the benches. They were talking. The villagers were sitting on the floor or on their boxes or trunks. Some gentlemen were walking up and down the platform. Every now and then they were looking in the direction of the train. When the distant signal became yellow, they felt happy. They knew that the train would shortly arrive. As soon as they caught sight of the engine, they got ready. All stood up. There was a movement on the platform. Some people put their bundles on their heads. Others held them under their pits. Some engaged coolie for their luggage. Ladies caught hold of the arms of their children.

When the train arrived, all got ready. All were anxious to get seats. The passengers who wished to get down opened the doors. The other people who were eager to get into the compartment, tried to get in. there was a great tussle between them. After a little discussion, the in-going passengers made way for the outgoing passengers. There were seats enough for only a few passengers and not for all. Those who got in got seats or remained standing. Others were running up and down the platform to find room for themselves. When they failed to get a room in the compartments, they caught hold of the handles outside some carriages. They stood on the footboards.

Members of the station staff looked busy with their duties. The ticket collector was at the gate. He collected tickets to drink. The hawkers went up and down with their wares. All were busy. After a few minutes, the engine gave a long whistle and the train left the platform.

When the train left, the crowd melted away. The hawkers went to some other platforms. They stopped their crying. The station staff retired to their rooms. The platform became dull.

The Scene at Railway Station

My father along with my elder sister were going to Kanpur the other day to attend the marriage party of my cousin. I went to the railway station to see them off. It was a pleasing sight at the railway station.

Many taxis, cars, scooters, rickshaws, and tongas were parked outside the waiting hall. The waiting hall was full of passengers. There was a long queue of people at the booking window. People were buying their tickets one by one. The coolies were busy. They were carrying the luggage of the people to the platform or from the platform to outside. My father bought a platform ticket for me. He hired a coolie to carry our luggage. We reached the platform from where the train was to depart.

The railway platform was full of people. Rich and poor, young and old, women and children were seen thereof all hues. Everyone was waiting for the train to come. The railway stalls were doing brisk business. Cold – drinks, tea, coffee, snacks, etc. were available everywhere. The coolies were carrying huge luggage of the passengers. Some were looking for the tickets. the police personnel was seen quite on alert. Frequently there were announcements about the timings of the trains, incoming and outgoing, there was high danger of luggage’s being taken away or pockets being picked. Everybody stood guard to their belongings. Everybody was restless but some had occupied benches and places and were sleeping comfortably evidently waiting for the late trains. There were some scenes of painful partings of parents seeing off their children going for distant destinations and some eager to met their nears and dears arriving after a long time. The waiting at the Railway Station seemed to pass off very fast while looking at all these things.

Soon there was a signal of the arrival of the train. There was a lot of commotion. Everybody began to move, catch hold of his luggage and making way towards their respective compartments. Some began to negotiate with the  TTE’s to confirm their unconfirmed seats. Most of them seemed dejected. In no, the whole crowd seemed to dwindle away leaving the whole platform almost deserted. I said goodbye to my father and sister and the train moved. Everyone around was seen waving hands for their departing nears and dears. It was really a sight to see. I also came out and headed towards my home.

A Scene at a Railway Platform

A railway station is a very busy place. Big railway stations numerous trains continue coming and going day and night. The real charm of the railway station can be enjoyed by standing at one of the platforms.

Last Sunday, I had to go to Bareilly. I went to the local railway 1 station at about 8.00 a.m. I bought a ticket at the booking window and entered platform No.1 from where the train was scheduled to go.

I learned that the train was late by one hour. I had come in a hurry and hadn’t taken my breakfast. So, I took my breakfast there at the platform.

I sat on a bench and began to look idly here and there to kill time. I saw coolies rushing from one platform to the other. They had heavy loads of luggage on their heads.

The vendors were crying for their wares. They were selling all kinds of eatables. Fast food in particular was in great demand. Most of the people were drinking tea. A few were having cold drinks.

I found some people sitting on the benches and just staring in different directions like me. Some passengers who were waiting for one or the other train were reading newspapers or magazines. Some were chatting or discussing politics. Some were blaming the government for various social and economic ailments.

I was amused at the sight of incoming and outgoing trains at various platforms. The signaling and interlocking system particularly impressed me.

As the train came, I moved towards it and boarded it. Soon the signal was down. The guard waved the green flag and the train steamed out.

Essay No. 06

Railway Station is the busiest place in this world today. It is also the noisiest. It hums with activity round the clock. Numerous trains arrive and depart every day. Many people do business at the railway station. There is confusion all over the place. Thousands of people go in and out of the railway station in any given hour.

On arriving at the railway station, one can see people and luggage all over the place. Some occupy the few benches that are there on the platform. Others sit on their suitcases, hold-alls or trunks. Some can be seen sleeping on the platform. Those who are hungry crowd around the refreshment stalls and can be seen eating and drinking. People who wish to move from one part of the platform to another in a hurry find it very difficult to negotiate through the thick crowd of people. There are many people standing in a queue in front of the drinking water taps.

There are many vendors on the platform. They sell a variety of things like food, tea, coffee, fruits, soft drinks, decorative items and fancy goods. They shout at the top of their voices to attract customers. There are many bookstalls in the railway station. Passengers who like to read come here and buy books to read on the train.

Many porters can be seen on the platform. They wear red coloured dresses. They carry the luggage of the people on their heads from one platform to another and from train to their vehicles outside the railway Station

Loudspeakers inside the railway station announce the arrival and the departure of trains. They inform the waiting passengers about the number of the platform on which the trains would come.

A part of the railway station consists of the booking offices. People queue up in front of the booking windows to buy tickets and to get the reservation done. There are also many information counters from where the information about the trains can be obtained

As the trains come on to the platform, there is a great hustle and bustle everywhere. People rush to get inside their compartments. They push and jostle each other. Many times small quarrels erupt between people. Things settle down when the train moves out of the platform. Friends and relatives wave their near and dear ones goodbye.

This scene repeats itself every time a train comes and goes. Life inside and outside the railway station is constantly on the move.

Essay a Scene at Railway Station in English class 10

Man has never been contented with the natural way he is able to walk or run because he thinks that this is only a limited ability that can never keep pace with his ever-increasing demand for quick mobility. That is the reason he has been attempting to devise various ways of upgrading his capacity to move quickly through significant distances. He came up with the wheel in an effort to accomplish this, which changed the way life on Earth works in general. Another miraculous development in this regard is the British’s development of the railroad and locomotive. In order for the trains to connect the various towns and villages along the route, a rail track was laid. At locations known as railway stations, the train, pulled by its powerful engine, would make a brief stop for the passengers.

“The railway station is a place which presents a blend of feelings of sorrow and joys.” (Quotation)

essay a scene at railway station with quotations

During the last few days, I also happened to visit the Lahore Railway Station in order to receive my friend who was coming from Karachi by ‘The Shalimar’. The train was due at 10:00 p.m. and I reached the respective platform at 9:50 p.m. in a jubilant mood as my friend was coming to me for at least after two years. I was quite eager and curious to see him and observe the physical changes that might have taken place in his personality. There was a great hustle and bustle all over the platform. Men, women, and children have thronged the place. Passengers who wanted to travel to different destinations were buying tickets and many were waiting for their respective trains while standing along with their luggage.

“A railway station obviously has typical scenes.” (Quotation)

a scene at railway station essay for class 10

A good many people had come to receive or see off their dear or near ones. There was a huge crowd crying all around and a deafening noise. There were a number of vendors and hawkers doing a roaring trade. They were selling meals, fruits, books, magazines, souvenirs, knick-knacks, etc. with an appreciable zeal and zest. The brightly lit colorful stalls and carts at different points attract the passengers who visit them quite frequently. Many people were roaming around looking at the colorful ads with their wistful eyes twinkling brightly at different attractions. There were few who could be seen worrying about the journey.

“The prospect of a long arduous journey ahead worries the passengers.” (Quotation)

Essay On “Scene At The Railway Station” In English With Quotations

The smart stationmaster along with his efficient staff was moving about hurriedly because the rain was about to come shortly. The posters were looking for some good, handsome business and so were moving about in agility. I saw a few persons reading magazines, novels, newspapers, and other things of this sort sitting on the waiting bench. Some passengers were offering their prayers in one corner of the platform, neglecting the whole clamor all around. I got very much impressed by their preoccupation and appreciated them a lot in my heart.

In the meanwhile, a loud noise of ‘train’, ‘train’ came from the platform and everything got in full swing in the wink of an eye. There was a strange atmosphere that made everyone to be in a hurry which was beyond all senses. The passengers alighting from or getting into the train were set against each other in a thorough quarrelsome mood. They were pushing one another just for nothing and the overall result was zero. Nobody was willing to wait for this train and do the courtesy to his fellow beings. In addition to this, the potters were doing their own job by pushing the luggage in and out of the different compartments. While shouting at the vendors together with the frightful cries I was forced to think that we, as a nation, stand far behind the comity of a cultured nation.

Quotes for The scene at a railway station (Essay) class 10

I was so engaged in all this that I forgot my friend at the moment and got shocked or startled when he called me loudly from inside the compartment. I rushed towards him and after a long struggle against various obstacles; I managed to get him outside the train. Both of us were thankful to Allah that after all we were safe and sound. This was truly a fun experience that shall always remain in my heart with all its specialties. It was just like a fair

Life is a train that stops at no stations; you either jump abroad or stand on the platform and watch as it passes.

Our life is a constant journey, from birth to death. The landscape changes, the people change, our needs change, but the train keeps moving. Life is the train, not the station.

A story is like a moving train: no matter where you hop onboard, you are bound to reach your destination sooner or later.

There are so many different reasons as to why I love riding trains. But I think ultimately it's the romantic feeling of it. There's something about it that just transports me into old films.

Life is a train, get on board.

If a train doesn't stop at your station, then it's not your train.

Nowhere can I think so happily as in a train.

An artist has to train his responses more than other people do. He has to be as disciplined as a mathematician. Discipline is not a restriction but an aid to freedom. It prepares an artist to choose his own limitations.

Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there.

Dwight D. Eisenhower quote: Neither a wise man nor a brave man lies down on the...

Neither a wise man nor a brave man lies down on the tracks of history to wait for the train of the future to run over him.

I train for the first shot – it’s all I need.

The only way to be sure of catching a train is to miss the one before it.

I seen her in the subway, on my way to Brooklyn. "Hello, good lookin, is this seat tooken?" On the A Train, pickin at her brain, I couldn't get her number, I couldn't get her name. I said, "I still like your style and fashion, But I hate your hot sadiddy attitude wit a passion. Is it because brothers like to hawk a lot? Is it because your sign don't talk a lot?" She turned away, no play, I said, "OK, You don't really look good, I hope you have a bad day."

If there is no element of asceticism in our lives, if we give free rein to the desires of the flesh (taking care of course to keep within the limits of what seems permissible to the world), we shall find it hard to train for the service of Christ. When the flesh is satisfied it is hard to pray with cheerfulness or to devote oneself to a life of service which calls for much self-renunciation.

When a train goes through a tunnel and it gets dark, you don't throw away the ticket and jump off. You sit still and trust the engineer.

There isn't a train I wouldn't take, no matter where it's going.

It was a train full of strangers, and they were all the same.

Dream delivers us to dream, and there is no end to illusion. Life is like a train of moods like a string of beads, and, as we pass through them, they prove to be many-colored lenses which paint the world their own hue. . . .

It doesn't matter which side of the tracks your from, the train still rolls the same.

I knew I was going to take the wrong train, so I left early.

The light from the oncoming train focuses the mind.

Life is a train ride, and at the many stations along the route, people important to us debark, never to get aboard again, until by the end of the journey, we sit in a passenger car where most of the seats are empty.

Railway termini are our gates to the glorious and the unknown. Through them we pass out into adventure and sunshine, to them, alas! we return.

There was a long queue in front of the booking window . But a lady helps me to get a ticket . She purchased the ticket for me. I went to the platform with my bag. The platform was overcrowded.

After some time the signal was lowered. I saw the train approaching the platform. The train arrived and stopped. Everyone rushed towards the compartments and tried to get in. The train started and soon it was steaming off at a great speed.

The night was cool and it began to rain. I closed the windowpane and covered myself with a blanket. I looked out through the glass window. The trees , houses , and huts seemed to wheel back. The passengers were doing something or the other. Some were gossiping and chatting . Some were discussing the burning questions of the day.

The train reached Kalka. I changed my train to Shimla. After some hours I reached Shimla and meet my friend.

Essay on Train Journey | My Memorable Train Journey Essay For Students

We were in September and the autumn break was just about to begin. Our first term exams were just over, and we were free from the stress of studying for a few days. During the autumn, our school plans excursion trips to various places. I have always wanted to go on a trip like this and have fun with my friends.

My First Train Journey with Friends

My parents had always been skeptical of sending me on out stations trips even though they allowed me to go on school excursions in the local area. They considered me too young and careless, so they feared sending me. Every year I would try to convince my friends about these school trips but they would refuse.

When I was in class VII, my mother promised me she would send me when I reach class IX because I would be more mature by then. So, last year I reminded her of her promise. Though reluctant, she agreed to send me on my school trip to Jaipur.

She also convinced my father and he gave the written consent along with the deposit for the trip. My joy knew no bounds. I had the consent of my parents, as well as a few of my closest friends, and we were so excited to take this trip. Not only was I excited about visiting Jaipur, I was also excited about the train journey .

My Train Journey Experience

I got the window seat. It was a long day journey of around 5 hours and there was a lot to see out the window. I was fascinated by the sight of green fields, small sand hills and long roads for most of the trip. We played charades and antakshari for the remainder of the trip, which was a lot of fun.

It would have been nice if the journey never ended. Despite that, we arrived at the Jaipur station before we even realized it. I wandered from fort to fort in the Pink city, dreaming of the train journey back to my hometown. The train journey back home was as much fun.

Conclusion:  Train journeys have always fascinated me. It was even more special this time because I went with friends. I anticipate more train journeys like this one.

Essay on Train Journey for class 1 & 2 Students

When traveling with friends, train journeys are the best. The train trip from Delhi to Jaipur is one of my most memorable train trips. We had all been looking forward to this school trip for a long time. Our trip was full of plans, and we were hoping to have a great time while on it.

The train started within a few minutes after we arrived at the railway station at 6 in the morning. For a better view of the outside, I occupied the window seat. As we walked, we enjoyed the green fields, mud roads, and huts that we saw along the way. While looking outside, I chatted with my best friend.

It was time for breakfast soon. On the train, we had cutlets and bread. Our meal also included hot tomato soup and a plate of bread and cutlets. As soon as we finished breakfast, we all gathered to play antakshari. I enjoy playing antakshari with large groups. It was also fun to have our teachers join us. Our play continued until we reached our destination before we had even realized it had been so long. I had a great time. It was a joyous train ride with my friends by my side.

Train Journey Essay for  3rd,4th,5th Class Students

The train journey between Kalka and Shimla, which runs along this route, is even more interesting than the hill station of Shimla itself. It is mesmerizing to watch the route it takes. If one does not travel on this train on their trip to Shimla, their trip will not be complete. While planning our trip to Shimla, we bought tickets in advance to take part in this much-discussed train journey.

Journey to Shimla by Toy Train

While we were on break last year, we visited Shimla. After traveling by bus to Kalka, we took the toy train from there to Shimla. It appeared like an ordinary train journey with mountains and valleys along the way, but it was actually a very thrilling and thrilling experience. Our journey was filled with nature. As the train went through the mountains, we felt like we were a part of nature and were able to see mountains, valleys, and greenery.

It was a five- to six-hour journey that I thoroughly enjoyed. As the route went through tunnels and over bridges, there was an added experience. On the route, there were more than 100 tunnels and approximately 800 bridges. For the entire journey, I sat by the window.  Additionally, we hopped off the train when it stopped at a station along the way. The train stopped at the small station only for ten minutes.

As well as my parents, I was accompanied by my brother. The trip was as enjoyable for them as it was for me. On the way back, we took the same train.

In fact, this was the best train ride I have ever taken. Nature is my favorite place to be. Because of this, I enjoyed it even more. This is a route that I would like to take again.

Essay on Train Journey for class 6,7,8th Class Students

When I was in my second grade, I took my first train ride. My maternal aunt was getting married in Dehradun, so we had to travel there to attend. Everyone was filled with joy and excitement when the news broke. Mother started picking out the dresses for the wedding, and my father began to plan our trip. We have decided to travel by train with a few of our relatives. It was my first time riding a train, so I was very excited about the experience.

Planning the Train Journey

It is different to travel by train than by car. In order to travel smoothly, one must plan in advance. After studying all of the trains operating on that route, my parents chose the most convenient and suitable method. It took days to book the tickets. We had packed our bags and made all the necessary arrangements for the trip. The journey took place at night. Within minutes, the train started and we reached the station on time.

Fun on the Way

In preparation for our long journey, we welcomed our relatives. Our first meeting with many of them had been months ago. We talked about a lot of things. The two of us talked about fun things to do along the way as we sat in the car. Some of the games they brought were tabletop games. Our group started playing a fun board game.

When my mother called us for dinner a few rounds into the game, we had just finished the game. On the train, we were served a delicious dinner. In the evening, I sat at the window after having dinner. The quiet of the running train fascinated me as it was night and I couldn’t see much outside. For me, it was a unique experience.

During dinner, we played Antakshari. This was a fun game we played with all our relatives. After playing antakshari for an hour, we went to bed.

All of the middle berths were soon open and people fell asleep. When I woke up the following morning, the view outside was delightful. As I drove along, I noticed the green fields, rising sun, and hills that were at a distance, along with huts along the way. I liked this most about my train trip.

All in all, I found my first train trip to be very exciting and interesting. I enjoyed every minute of it. All the more fun was having my cousins along.

The wild breeze and blaring sun, children skipping on the tracks, the distant sound of a mountain train- memories of summer.

Hold my hand and count to 10 because we have a long track to go.

Let’s run wild on those tracks letting our young hearts jump out in joy- Reliving life

When I saw the green flag flash from across the tracks, I knew my life was destined with you.

The days I walked, lived and witnessed life around the tracks are the most beautiful days of my life.

If you ever get lost, look for the tracks to guide you back to me, back to our love.

One must always be careful on the tracks and about the tracks they choose- I have watched the golden sun, the grass clothed in light, fireflies in the night as the tracks kept me company throughout my life.

With you as my track, I know my journey will be smooth.

Happy families always have a happy track story to share.

The tracks are the witnesses to stories of love, friendship, hatred and lives that crossed paths on them.

Maybe you have been searching for me on the wrong track.

As the land shudders the tracks lay still with every passing train, it is from them I learnt to stay calm even when dealing with avalanche situations.

Every mischievous sound train check on tracks says how much we bonded as siblings.

Train sounds, coffee on tracks, an old newspaper to shelter from rain, the familiar smell of freshly baked buns- Life has so much to look forward to.

As the morning mists lifted, amidst the thick green cover, it flashed like a silver lining filling hearts with hope for a better day.

Left my rain-soaked umbrella and love soaked heart on the track- For I hope one day you will return in search of them.

You are the train that I always wait for silently with hope.

I can wait forever as long as it’s on the right track.

Life moves on the tracks silently with every journey one takes, with every destination and with every decision.

Life comes a full circle when one gets back to the tracks they always wanted to be in.

You and me, the blue moon and silvery tracks, a warm light shade and the cricket songs – Love letters.

The tracks are adorned with fall leaves, painting a rustic charm, I have my white gown on, will you come my darling to create stories of endless love?

Downtown or upstate, no matter where it is, these tracks pull me like a magnet, drowning me in its old-world charm and doesn’t let me leave without goodbyes.

Standing before a level crossing has its own perks, to view, to choose and to move are some of them and the same goes for life.

Caught in a crossing, neither here, nor there, I hope the tracks can lead me on.

Wooden tracks, fall trees, full moon and the lit lamps – Living the yesteryear life.

Somewhere between the rustic tracks and the green moss I see myself tracing back to the faint sounds of the past, the glasses clinking and the toasts made all vanishing into thin air.

Trains have the magical power to take people to paradise.

How something as simple as a train journey can fill you with sheer thrill and let your heart race is always a mystery.

Watching the summer day melting into the evening through this window as the pink sky colours the clouds, makes me embrace life and to live every moment.

Waltzing through the mountain tunnels the train romanced the ethereal beauty blowing warm kisses on a silvery night.

The colors of nature splashed all around me, taking advantage of my lonely train journey, tempting me to turn open the far away pages making me long for adventures.

The longer the journey, the more I immerse myself in the sights of golden skies and orange clouds. Lost in wonder, they cast a magical spell on me.

Somehow train journeys become a missing puzzle piece that my life needs at the moment,  revealing what I need to know to go on.

Train journeys are reminders to live life at the moment,  wild, creative, fearless, fierce and curious.

Some of the best connections are always made in trains.

When you are on a train journey,  the world becomes your muse, your creativity gets that nothingness to let it flow and in a while you see a plethora of nameless feelings stir inside you to make a masterpiece.

In simple words, train journeys make you fall in love with yourself,  daring you to dream and to dance with it.

Watch the sun go by the sunflower fields, the moon romancing over the waters and give yourself the permission to wander, to dream, to dance and to wake up to bliss.

As the train takes its course, let your spirits soar as you seek out the beauty around, making every moment of this solitude count, painting vivid memories for life.

As the golden hour light bathed the fields, I dream of dreams beyond boundaries and the train horns reminding me to dream until it becomes a reality.

Surprise and delight dropped in every frame as the train plunged through, pricking my curiosity, reminding me to shake away and to tread ahead.

Trains bring out new dreams in old souls, inking their black and white walls with hues of bright colors and soft pastels,  nudging to live the moment and to relax for a refreshing start.

This noisy lullaby and wiggly rocking are the best sleeping pills I have ever known.

You make my journeys limitless,  my sceneries beautiful and when you hold my hand, let this train lull us to a deep dream where love runs wild and free.

The train’s distinct sounds filled the heavy air as the cold rains splashed through the windows. Another journey,  another dream yet feels new every time.

What fascinates me the most in a train  journey is how different people with different interests come together, share the same journey and stories, each leading to new reflections.

Train journeys let you see life in different  colors and different lenses.

Train adventures are my way of telling myself to embrace the wonder child within and to never think it’s too late to start a new dream.

If you ever travel with your love on a train, never miss to lean on, read together, share a blanket, laugh out loud and to watch one sleep.

Take my hands, let me tell you stories that provide respite from the heavy mundane life, let’s look through the window for a shooting star or a few drops and make this time sweet.

Every sight pulled a stray key in my heart, creating music and memories that I will remember for a lifetime.

Join me, let’s take refuge in this breathtaking beauty,  leaving all trails of sadness in the tracks and walk towards the hope nature fills us with.

Train journeys made me alert, smart, curious, punctual and of course a hopeless romantic.

Those packed home foods and fellow travelling happy families are my weakness in train journeys. I don’t mind though.

Pass it on the winds and spread it in the clouds, the girl is back, chasing her dreams like the trains to the wilderness.

Of all the experiences that life offers, train travels are one of the best because they connect you so close with life itself.

Trains, they let you escape only to be caught- Be it in wonder or worry depends upon how you choose it.

Trains have the distinct ability to detach you from everything else and connect you to what you need to see.

Trains give you an all pass ticket to freely learn and experience the culture, perspectives and lives of people beyond borders.

Life moves at lightning speed and trains teach you to appreciate it.

Creating familiarity with unfamiliar faces and conversations that run for hours is a trait that train journeys can teach you- If you love people and stories, it is the place to be.

The joy and excitement in little voices echo through the air as the train runs through the dark tunnels, maybe it’s a reminder to hold on, enjoy this phase and let the light engulf you.

My favourite childhood memories are of train sounds, window seat snacks, nature’s warmth and excitement to see what lies ahead from a train cabin.

Another dawn breaks filling everything with life, another day, another story, I wonder what would mine be.

Looking for what foods are available at train stops has become my favorite game because it’s fun, fills your senses with warmth and it lets you learn new things about the place.

A train journey isn’t only about the hours you spend in a train but its impact stays with you throughout and touches your soul in a special way.

Behind the blue mountains on a misty morning, the retro colors painted the station as the lights flashed through when the train reached. A part of me has never been back from there.

The chill breeze touches the soul as the green canopy sways above, a moment of bliss caught as a blurry image forever.

Dusk wraps up a beautiful day in a blanket of grey letting one to look at the glass windows to reflect. The ride is long, so are the thoughts.

I wonder what a beautiful sight it would be in the minds of the kids who see the magic of nature unfolding in front of their eyes from a glass window.

The tall old trees anticipate its arrival as they blush and sway when the train whistles. The romance goes on as they fill the jungle with their earthly aroma.

Every time I peep out to see how long the coaches are, it reminds me that life goes on despite anything and you must give your best.

The magnificence of a train stands out anywhere and I like it best amidst a green oasis with the blue backlights.

Maybe the train travels are a  journey through light or through time but to me it is always mostly a journey within me.

On a train journey you are never a stranger nor alone.

Riding with the light riders.

I hope you liked my train journey quotes. I would love to know your thoughts, so feel free to drop a comment in the section down below.

a railway journey essay quotations

Dreams through Quotations: a Journey of Insight and Inspiration

This essay about dreams explores their significance through insightful quotations spanning literature, philosophy, art, activism, and science. From Edgar Allan Poe’s view of dreams as both nocturnal experiences and waking aspirations to Carl Jung’s exploration of their symbolic depths, each perspective illuminates their role in human creativity and self-discovery. Artists like Salvador Dalí use dreams to challenge reality, while figures such as Martin Luther King Jr. harness their metaphorical power to inspire social change. Scientifically, researchers like Dr. Rosalind Cartwright study dreams’ impact on mental processes, highlighting their essential role in emotional well-being and memory consolidation. Overall, this essay showcases how quotations about dreams reveal their profound influence across diverse domains of human experience.

How it works

Since ancient times, dreams have intrigued and captivated humanity, offering a glimpse into the subconscious mind and inspiring profound reflections across cultures and disciplines. Quotations about dreams from various sources create a rich tapestry of perspectives, illuminating their enduring significance in literature, philosophy, art, and beyond.

In literature, dreams often serve as portals to alternate realities and inner landscapes. Edgar Allan Poe, a master of Gothic fiction, once mused, “Those who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night.

” Poe’s words resonate with a dual understanding of dreams: not only as ephemeral nocturnal experiences but also as conscious aspirations and visions that shape our waking lives. This perspective underscores the idea that dreams are not confined to sleep but permeate our daily thoughts and actions, influencing our perceptions of reality and identity.

Across the spectrum of philosophy, dreams have been a subject of profound contemplation, particularly in the realm of psychoanalysis. Carl Jung, a pioneer in the field of analytical psychology, viewed dreams as windows into the unconscious, declaring, “Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.” Jung’s exploration of dreams emphasized their symbolic nature and their role in uncovering hidden truths and unresolved conflicts within the psyche. Through this lens, dreams are seen not only as enigmatic phenomena but also as vital tools for self-discovery and personal growth.

In the world of art, dreams have long been celebrated as wellsprings of creativity and innovation. Surrealist painter Salvador Dalí, known for his bizarre and evocative imagery, embraced dreams as a means of challenging conventional reality. He famously proclaimed, “Surrealism is destructive, but it destroys only what it considers to be shackles limiting our vision,” highlighting his belief in dreams as liberating forces that defy logic and invite exploration of the subconscious mind. Dalí’s artworks, such as “The Persistence of Memory,” depict dreamlike landscapes where time bends and morphs, inviting viewers to question the boundaries between imagination and reality.

Beyond artistic expression, dreams have played a pivotal role in shaping cultural narratives and movements. Martin Luther King Jr., in his iconic speech during the civil rights movement, articulated a powerful vision for a more just and equitable society, stating, “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” King’s use of the word “dream” as a metaphor for social justice resonated deeply, galvanizing a nation and inspiring generations to strive for equality and unity.

In the realm of scientific inquiry, dreams continue to intrigue researchers who seek to unravel their neurological and psychological complexities. Dr. Rosalind Cartwright, a prominent sleep researcher, observed, “Dreams are the touchstones of our character,” emphasizing their role in emotional processing and memory consolidation. Cartwright’s studies underscore the importance of dreams in maintaining cognitive function and mental well-being, suggesting that they serve as essential mechanisms for integrating and understanding our waking experiences.

In conclusion, quotations about dreams offer a kaleidoscope of insights into their profound impact on human consciousness and creativity. Whether examined through literature, philosophy, art, activism, or science, dreams emerge as powerful symbols of imagination, introspection, and human potential. As we delve into the words of Poe, Jung, Dalí, King, and Cartwright, we glimpse the multifaceted nature of dreams—revealing not only the mysteries of the subconscious mind but also the aspirations that propel us toward greater understanding and fulfillment.

Within the tapestry of human experience, dreams weave a thread of continuity, connecting past visions with future aspirations. They remind us that within the depths of our own minds lies a reservoir of creativity and insight waiting to be tapped. As we navigate the landscapes of our dreams, we discover not only profound truths about ourselves but also the limitless possibilities that unfold when imagination takes flight
