How to allow pop-ups in Safari on iPhone, iPad and Mac

Learn how to enable pop-ups in Safari on iPhone, iPad, and Mac to access essential website features with ease.

It seems like we put so much effort into blocking things like pop-ups and ads when we’re browsing the web that we forget about sites that actually use pop-ups for good reasons. It could be a shopping site where you get a confirmation, a CMS where you can use tools or a social site where you log in.

In Safari on iPhone or iPad, you can allow pop-ups globally; and on Mac, you can even allow them just for the specific sites you want.

Allow pop-ups in Safari on iPhone and iPad

On iPhone and iPad, you cannot currently specify which sites you want to allow pop-ups for. It’s a global setting that you can enable or disable. The best option to allow pop-ups for a particular site is to turn off the setting, visit the website you want to see the pop-ups for, and then turn the setting back on.

Open the Settings app and select Apps > Safari .  Turn off the toggle for Block Pop-ups .

When you finish visiting the site whose pop-ups you want to see, you should strongly consider turning the Block Pop-ups setting back on. Otherwise, you could end up inundated with ads or even unsafe pop-ups on your device.

Allow pop-ups in Safari on Mac

You have a couple of ways to allow pop-ups in Safari on Mac for the sites you trust. You can do this in the browser settings or with the site active in Safari. By taking a few moments to configure certain sites, you’ll save some aggravation later, waiting for that pop-up that never comes.

Allow when on the website

Let’s assume you clicked a link that triggered a new pop-up window. But if you have restricted pop-up windows in settings, the pop-up window won’t open and display a message temporarily in the Safari address bar. Besides that, it will show a tiny pop-up icon . Simply click that icon in the address bar, and it will open the blocked pop-up window.

When starting a live chat with Apple Support or downloading booked train tickets, I always use this method to allow the website to open the requested pop-up window.

Allow pop-ups in Safari settings

• Open Safari and click Safari > Settings or Preferences from the menu bar.
• Select the Websites tab.
• On the left, scroll down to and pick Pop-Up Windows .
• To the right, you have your Currently Open Websites at the top with any Configured Websites at the bottom. Next to each, select the drop-down box and pick Allow for those you want to allow pop-ups.

For sites that you don’t want to allow or that you want to be notified — select either Block or Block and Notify in that drop-down box.

At the bottom, next to When visiting other websites , you have a drop-down box with those three options as well. This is a global setting that covers all other sites you visit that you have not yet configured.

Allow pop-ups in the Safari window

• Right-click the address bar for the site you’re viewing and select Settings for site name or Settings For This Website .
• In the small window that appears, go down to Pop-up Windows .
• Use the drop-down box to choose Allow to see pop-ups for that website. Obviously, you can choose Block or Block and Notify for those you don’t want to see pop-ups.

When you use this method to adjust pop-ups for particular websites, these sites will then be added to the Configured Websites list in your Safari Settings, as explained above.

Hopefully, Apple will offer the ability to configure pop-ups for specific sites in Safari on iPhone and iPad at some point, just like on Mac. But in the meantime, you do have a way to allow pop-ups for the sites you want on all your devices.

Allow or block Popups in Safari

By default, Safari blocks popup windows from automatically appearing. But since some popups are legitimate and useful this guide will show you how to tell Safari to allow those pop-ups, block others, and change your settings to how you want them.

Go to the webpage with the pop-up window that you want to allow

To allow a pop-up window to open in Safari, you first need to go to the web page that tries to open the pop-up.

If you want to just test these steps out, you can use our Pop-ups detection page to experiment with; it will open a pop-up window you can test with.

Temporarily show the blocked pop-up window in Safari

When you visit a page that tries to show you a pop-up window but is blocked by Safari, you will see a warning in the Address Bar:

This is a temporary change - Safari will only remember that you want to allow pop-ups from this website just in this tab , and only while it is still open. If you close the tab or open other browser tabs/windows and go back to the same website, you will have to click the icon again and allow Safari to open the pop-up window. However you can tell Safari to remember your preference for this website and permanently allow pop-ups from a website...

Permanently allow pop-ups from a website in Safari

The easiest way to tell Safari to always allow pop-ups from the website you are visiting, is to go to the website and right click (or hold ⌃ Control and click) on the address bar. You will see a menu appear that contains an item: Settings for This Website... .

Click Settings for This Website... and in the small dialog window that appears, next to the section that says Pop-up Window - click the Block and Notify option and you will see three options appear:

• Block and Notify is the default behaviour for Safari and will cause Safari to block pop-up windows from this website, Safari will show you the small notice in the Address Bar every time a pop-up is blocked.
• Block will cause Safari to block pop-up windows from this website and not even tell you
• Allow will cause Safari to let the website you are visiting always open pop-up windows

Choose the option you want for Safari, remembering that this is changing the setting just for this website .

Once you have selected the pop-ups setting for this site, you can click away from the little window and keep browsing. If you have enabled popups for a website you can refresh the page in Safari and it should allow the popup window to open this time.

Change saved pop-ups settings in Safari

Even if you have saved custom settings for pop-ups in Safari, you can reset or modify them easily. First, open Safari's preferences by clicking the Safari menu and then choosing Preferences.

Click the "Websites" tab

In Safari's Preferences window, click the Websites tab, to show preferences for websites.

Click "Pop-up Windows" in the side-menu

Click the Pop-up Windows item on the "Websites" configuration screen to reveal the configuration screen for popups.

Remove site settings, and change the default pop-up behaviour

On the Pop-ups settings screen, you can do a few things:

• Change custom settings for sites , by clicking the select field next to the site and choosing a new option
• Removing the pop-ups preference for a website , by selecting it and then clicking Remove
• Configure the default pop-ups behaviour for all new websites by

• Block – Safari will simply block pop-ups without informing you. Suitable for focused work and reading

Alternatively, you can also allow Safari pop-ups for selected websites while surfing. When the website is active, right-click the website’s address from the address bar and select Settings for (website name).

Next, from the menu, click the drop-down menu next to the Pop-up Widows and select between Block and Notify, Block, or Allow.

Completely Turn Off or On Pop-up Blocker on Mac

Step 1 : Open Safari and select Safari → Setting from the top menu.

Step 2 : Go to the Website tab and select Pop-up Windows from the left bar.

• To completely unblock pop-ups – Uncheck Block pop-up windows.
• To create exceptions – Click Exceptions and add the website.

Enable or Disable Pop-Ups on Edge Browser

Step 1 : Launch Edge → click Edge from the top menu and select Settings/Preferences.

Step 2 : Select Cookies and Site Permissions from the left.

Step 3 : Scroll down and select Pop-ups and redirects.

• To completely block or unblock all pop-ups – Toggle on or off the switch next to Block.
• To create exceptions – Click Add next to Block or Allow accordingly.

FAQs Regarding Disabling or Enabling Pop-Up Blocker

While macOS security doesn’t easily allow viruses or bloatware to be installed, there are certainly risks involved. Moreover, hackers can use these to collect personal information. So, overall allowing all pop-ups is definitely not safe.

As a general rule, it’s a good practice to block all pop-ups by default. However, you can choose to Allow or Block and Notify them for trusted websites that require pop-ups for essential features.

Safari’s built-in pop-up blocker is generally sufficient for most users. How to allow pop-ups on Mac in a Safari browser

1. Launch Safari.

2. In your menu bar at the top of the screen, click "Safari." Find and click "Preferences" in the drop-down menu.

3. Once in Preferences, click on "Websites" — the icon that looks like a globe.

4. On the left menu, click "Pop-up Windows."

5. Where it says "When visiting other websites:," there will be a dropdown menu with two blue arrows. Click on it.

6. Here you can select "Allow" and it will automatically save this setting. You can also select "Block and Notify" if you'd like to choose to allow or block a pop-up when it appears.

How to change the default settings for pop-ups on individual websites in Safari

To change default settings for individual sites, make sure the website is open in Safari when you access "Preferences."

1. In the menu bar up at the top of the page, select Safari > Preferences.

2. Click "Websites," and find "Pop-up Windows" on the left.

3. Here you'll see the URL of the site you have open in Safari and a drop-down menu with two blue arrows.

Pop-up windows on the web may be annoying in general, but many financial, banking, and tax websites use pop-ups to display documents or additional information. Thus while many people think of web pop-ups as frustrating or bad, sometimes they’re a necessary part of using a particular website or accessing some material. But pop-up windows are disabled by default in Safari for the Mac.

If you’re a Safari user on the Mac and you need access to pop-up windows for whatever reason, there are several options available to enable pop-ups for websites viewed in Safari. We’l show you how to enable all pop-up windows for all websites, and two ways to enable pop-ups for specific websites in Safari.

How to Enable Pop-Ups for Specific Websites in Safari for Mac

If you know of a specific website that uses pop-up windows, you can enable pop-ups for that particular website rather easily through Safari preferences:

• Open the Safari app if you have not done so already, then navigate to the web site you want to enable popups for
• Pull down the “Safari” menu and choose “Preferences”
• Select the “Websites” tab then click on “Pop-Up Windows” from the left side menu
• Locate the website URL in the list, then click the dropdown selection menu next to that URL and choose “Allow”

• Close Safari Preferences

This is a great approach because it allows you to block all general pop-up windows in Safari still, while allowing them on specific websites that you know require the use of pop-ups to function properly.

How to Quickly Enable Pop-Ups on a Website in Safari for Mac

If you’re on a given website and it attempts to open a pop-up, Safari will notify* you of it doing so, and then you can act on that to allow the pop-up window to become visible, here’s how:

• From Safari, navigate to the web site you want to enable popups for
• When a pop-up window is attempted to display, you’ll notice the URL bar changes to a message stating ‘Pop-up Window Blocked’, now click the little pop-up window icon to allow pop-up windows for the currently active website

* Note this particular feature requires the “Block & Notify” setting to be enabled in the “Pop-Up Windows” settings section of Safari Preferences.

How to Enable All Pop-Ups in Safari for Mac

If you want to enable all pop-up windows in Safari for Mac, here’s how to do that:

• Open the Safari app if you have not done so already
• Look for the dropdown selection menu next to ‘When visiting other websites:’ and choose “Allow” to allow all pop-up windows in Safari from all websites

Enabling all pop-ups for all websites is generally not recommended since inevitably you will encounter some website that is going to misuse the feature (which is why they are disabled by default in many modern web browsers in the first place). But if you require this setting, it is available.

Note that sometimes sites will launch pop-ups as opening new windows but Safari opens them as new tabs instead of pop-ups or new windows, depending on how they are initiated from the site itself, and how Safari is configured.

Whichever approach you use to allow pop-up windows in Safari, you can always adjust the settings again later if needed.

Obviously we’re focusing on Safari for Mac here, but you can also enable or disable pop-up windows in Safari for iPhone and iPad too , so if you find yourself needing to use pop-ups in iOS Safari that’s just a matter of tweaking some settings as well.

Simpler solution, use Firefox which will prompt the user with pop ups blocked when its a popup for something legit. Furthermore Firefox is a far better, way less bloated browser that syncs across idevices easily

As you may already know, pop-ups are a menace. Not only do they get in the way of the content you're trying to read or watch, they can also present security concerns, directing you to nefarious websites. Needless to say, then, blocking them is pretty much a necessity.

But how do you block pop-ups on your iPhone? You'd be forgiven for thinking you have to sign up for or purchase one of the best ad blockers . But although those are great, luckily, you don't need them — your iPhone comes pre-loaded with a Safari pop-up blocker. All you need to do is make sure it's turned on, and this guide is here to show you how.

1. Open the Settings app , then scroll down and tap Safari .

Stop "Sign in with Google" pop-ups

I have a Mac air. I am not a big Google user (or Google fan for that matter). However, I do have a Google account that I have accessed via my Safari browser. However, just about every other website is now causing a pop-up that asks me to "sign in with google" as many of these sites have a SSO with Google. I have removed all of my Google sign-in's from Safari, removed cookies, removed history but these annoying "sign in with Google" prompts still exist. I have removed this "opt in" check-box on my Google account as well without any success. How do I stop the annoying pop-ups from Google asking me to sign in?

I don’t even have a Google account or gmail and that nasty pop up comes up on all my Apple devices now. Tried all the suggestions above and more to no avail! Surely Safari could protect against this Google intrusion?

• How do I turn off Google Sign-In Prompts When Using Safari? I get this this "Sign in with Google" pop-up on my laptop, desktop, iPad, and iPhone when I land on sites on the web. Not every site, but enough to be very annoying. (I've attached screen shot.) One friend suggested emailing the webmaster of any site where Google popped up, which I tried with a few but did not get any responses. I solution was proposed in the Community here in a post from 3-21-23: "To turn off sign in prompts in your Google account, go to your Google Account security page and sign in to your account. Once you're signed in, on the Security page under the "Signing in to Other Sites" section turn off the "Google Account sign-in prompts" option." My Google account does not have the section on the Security page "Signing in to Other Sites". I searched with phrase and found nothing. I also did not see anything that led to "Google Account sign-in prompts". Did Google rename them, move them somewhere else or delete them altogether? I have done what I can on Safari to block pop ups, but the Google pop ups pop up anyway. Note: I added gmail to my Mac mail account years ago. These pop-ups seemed to start in the last 12 months? How to stop obnoxious google sign in prompts?

• Go to "My Account" : "Security" ( https://myaccount.google.com/security )
• Click on "See all connections" link in "Your connections to third party apps & services"
• Click on the gear at the top of the "Third party apps & services" page.
• Disable the "Signing in with Google" prompt.

Well I tried all that and still nothing. I am cursed for life it seems. I switched to Duck Duck Go to flee the google update your settings pop up and now this new google junk has taken its place. So freaking irritating.

I am on a MacBook Air and have dealt with this problem for months. Can't promise this will work for everyone but here is what resolved the issue for me.

I went into Safari - Preferences - Search -

My search engine is on DuckDuckGo -

I unclicked "Include Search Engine Suggestions" -

Below the Search Engine, look at "Search Field"

Where it says Enable Quick Website Search there is a box "Manage Websites"

Click on Manage Websites and see if Google is in there

If it is, remove Google

Hope this helps someone, it worked for me

Sign in with Apple doesn't obnoxiously pop up a window in a world with already 500 popup windows, some created by regulations which are supposed to somehow... help us?

I would say take the GDPR back and give me back websites without stupid popups about "we use cookies! we use cookies!" ...

It seems like the more time goes by the more we have to deal with on the web that is "for our own good" but really is annoying.

I don't think your question is rhetorical for most. People claim to care about privacy and be all "I am in the know and I know how to stop people from spying on me" and then they have a Google Android phone. The answer is Google is evil, Apple is not. And in this case I won't go deep .. it's just as simple as Google seems to be obsessed with stealing as much data from people as they possibly can, and stalking them worst than the most notorious stalker.

Whilst Apple .. well nothing they do is annoying. It's just the things they DON'T do that are sometimes annoying ;)

As noted in my original post, I did follow the Google recommendations to stop this pop-up on Safari with no success. It just does not go way. I went even further and remove any Google log-in accounts, removed all Google passwords and cookies and thing will not go way.

Respectfully, has the responder read the thread in full, or tried the instructions posted? I mention because even people with NO google account are graced with Google login panel. Fresh new device that never had a sign in to Google service will hit in the face with the same panel.

It is a very frustrating and annoying situation. I did, however, find the solution - an app called Banish - available from the Apple App Store. Been using it for several weeks and, so far, it works flawlessly at blocking these Google pop-ups.

I forgot to mention the other change I made was going into the Safari-Websites-Downloads

"allow downloads on websites with setting below"

Click DENY on the Google tab

As I scrolled down, I found Google was in this list more than once, so I had to switch the tab from ASK to DENY on more than one Google tab.

Make sure you find them all!

I'm using Firefox and autodelete all cookies - except a few whitelisted - after closing its tab or the browser. The default solution to disable Google Account sign-in prompts in the Google Account settings doesn't work as I'm no longer logged into Google when I close its tab or my browser.

The solution I found for Firefox is using the following string as as custom rule to your adblocker:

||accounts.google.com/gsi/iframe/select$subdocument

This should also work for Safari except that the only adblocker I could find that allows custom rules is AdGuard for Safari. After installing AdGuard for Safari I opened the settings, clicked on Filters tab, enabled User rules and clicked on User rules. This enabled me to paste the custom rule and click on Save to enable it.

I tested it by going to Reddit and the "Sign in with Google" pop-up no longer appears. After disabling all AdGuard for Safari extension and reloading Reddit the pop-up came back. After enabling extension in Safari I discovered you only need to enable AdGuard Custom to enable this User rule.

Tested some further and closed AdGuard for Safari (not keeping it active in menu bar) and disabled launch at login and it still works.

The requests to sign in using Google on other websites are not coming from Google. They are coming from the website you're visiting (one example is redfin.com). Sure, you could individually close each tab in Safari, Chrome or Google search on your iPhone, but why do that when you can easily nix them all in one fell swoop? 

Closing all tabs is a simple enough method that nevertheless isn't always intuitive, so let's walk through how to do it for each platform. 

Close all tabs in Safari

Safari perhaps wins the award for least intuitive steps to close all tabs. To do so, you'll want to have a tab open, then hold down the tab icon in the lower right corner (it looks like two overlapping squares). Then, you'll see an option to Close All Tabs . Tap that, confirm you want to close them all, and then they should disappear. 

Close all tabs in Chrome

Chrome makes it a little easier than Safari to close all tabs. If you've got a browser open, tap the Switch tabs button on the bottom (a square with the number of tabs inside). Then tap Edit on the lower left side of the screen and hit Close All Tabs .

A couple taps will allow you to quickly close all tabs in Chrome.

It's easy to rack up open tabs in the Google search app, since a new one appears each time you pursue a search result. To close all tabs, click on the square in the lower right corner, which should show the number of how many tabs you have open. Then click on the three dots in the upper right corner and select Close all open tabs . When the popup window appears, select Close all .

The Google search app has slightly different steps for closing tabs than Chrome.

Now you can hand over your phone with the security of knowing your web activity won't become a topic of conversation.

A very popular Round Top pop-up is opening a new temporary restaurant in Austin this summer. Y Comida is expanding with the aptly named Y Comida at Ellis at downtown food hall Fareground at 111 Congress Avenue starting on Friday, August 23.

Under Y Comida owner and head chef Nick Middleton, the street-level counter-service restaurant will serve South Texas dishes with New American approaches, pulling from his culinary upbringing. The team will use the “South Texas flavors and bounty I grew up eating as part-Mexican, part-Cajun, and fully Texan border kid,” Middleton tells Eater. He grew up in Port Isabel, Texas.

Y Comida’s Ellis menu will include quail tamarind lollipops; rib-eye cap steaks with mesquite smoked butter; redfish with Texas sweet corn beurre blanc; sumac-dusted blue crab claws; brisket confit tacos with avocado and salsa macha; and mezcal affogatos with canela ice cream, coffee, and spices.

The Fareground/Ellis staff will still oversee the drinks menu; they’ll be expanding with more agave spirits to complement Y Comida’s food, such as mezcals, sotols, raicillas, and tequilas; plus adding more Central Texas wines and new cocktails. The latter includes the La Playa Blanca, a frozen tequila drink with coconut and lime orgeat; the Pasado de Moda with mezcal, piloncillo, and mole bitters; and the watermelon-y Sandia Tajin.

Before Y Comida, Middleton had started his culinary journey by selling gumbo — made using a family recipe — and hosted crawfish boils out of his East Austin garage in 2016 under the name Le Bouchon. Then he had pop-ups in New Orleans and Austin in 2017 and 2018, mostly as Grita Tacos. And then, back in Austin, he also worked on the opening team of Asian smokehouse restaurant Loro in 2018. He also developed ice cream flavors for the Austin location of Zeds in june 2021

Middleton started Y Comida in 2019, which became this massive biannual month-long restaurant out in Round Top timed to the very huge antiques show. It’s where he and his team cook up coursed tasting menu meals at the Bader Ranch in March and October.

“Ellis seems like a perfect place to take our mantra and use this small space to make interesting food that is accessible to everyone in the heart of downtown, “Middleton says. He had met with an Ellis stakeholder during a pop-up event and they got along.

The rest of the Y Comida at Ellis team includes sous chef Barto McCarty, who has been on-staff for the past five years; Sakif Khan, currently behind Bangladeshi food pop-up Good Jinn and the former chef de cuisine of Peached Tortilla; and Derek Dunn, formerly of Uchiko and Olamaie.

Y Comida’s Round Top pop-ups will still happen in fall. This Ellis location is positioned as a seasonal operation — it’s supposed to end on New Year’s Eve on Tuesday, December 31. Middleton’s idea is that they’ll find a next-location in Austin, whether it’s somewhere new or continuing on at Ellis. The press release notes that there is “the possibility of becoming a longer-term partner.”

The hours for Y Comida at Ellis will be from 3 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. The bar’s hours will be from 3 to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday; 3 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Overall, the Fareground and Ellis are under ownership company Cousins Properties and a dining partnership with Colorado-based group Richard Sandoval Hospitality . Since the food hall opened in 2018 (under a different culinary operation company ), there have been many restaurant switcheroos through the years.

Paige Lorenze at the Dairy Boy Country Mart pop-up in New York City

Last year, Paige Lorenze —a lifestyle brand founder and It Girl known for her showstopping tennis WAG looks at Wimbledon —made waves with her first fashion pop up in New York City.

With lineups around the block, it proved that her lifestyle brand, Dairy Boy , which she founded in 2021, can thrive on e-commerce sales through social media.

While the pop up sold out the jeans and retro tennis-themed swag at the first pop-up (keep in mind, she’s the partner of tennis player Tommy Paul), she returns to New York with more products that bring a slice of country charm to the city.

Now, two of Lorenze’s brands, Dairy Boy and American Charm , are featured at the Dairy Boy Country Mart pop-up in New York City starting tomorrow, August 23, through Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. located at 25 Howard Street in Soho, featuring all of the brand’s products and accessories, plus new exclusive drops.

Lorenze, who studied skiing in Vermont, is bringing her own version of a Vermont Country Store to the city. “They’re this sort of this really homey, eclectic store that has flannels, cutting boards, artisan ceramic plates, and candy,” she said. “It’s kind of this all-encompassing, fun, homey store. And that was sort of the inspiration behind this, to bring a rural thing into the city, something that feels homey and nostalgic.”

The Dairy Boy new products include new Homecoming Jersey Shirts with the “DB” logo embroidered on the front, as well as the new Barn Jacket, which comes in two shades (brown and pink) and new tennis shirts, hats and sweaters. The pop-up launches during the US Open, naturally. The new American Charm products include floral patterned bedding, among other home items.

Lorenze first founded Dairy Boy in 2021 as a creative outlet. “I think it's just so important to me to showcase my lifestyle that I want to promote the life that I do live,” she said. “And this general store-style country mart reflects that.”

In a way, Lorenze is the next Martha Stewart — one that speaks to Generation Z. She’s only 26 and is a multi-hyphenate with brands and creative content that resonates with young women. “To me, it's about romanticizing your home life,” said Lorenze.

“It's home making, curating, and hosting. I have this special opportunity to encourage young people to romanticize their day-to-day life, even if it’s their apartment in the city. Just because you don't live in the country, doesn’t mean that you can’t invest in your space and make it feel a sanctuary, whether it's florals or cute bedding.”

As an influencer with roughly 700,000 followers on Instagram, Lorenze appreciates the shift from promoting other people’s products to her own. “Speaking from personal experience, we’re not pushed as females to start a business; we're pushed to sell products for other brands,” she said.

“But it’s so much more rewarding if you sell your own products. We each have our own niche. It’s something I want to do, to encourage more young female entrepreneurs to step up. We all have a certain amount of engagement where we can reach and sell products.”

Her advice to young creators? Start your own brand. “All it really takes is taking your own curiosities, staying determined and finding ways to do the research and find people or partners that can help you reach your goals,” she said. “It's actually not as hard as a lot of people think it is.”

Next up, she is doing more drops with Urban Outfitters and is part of Target’s Future Collective . She has also received interest from Nordstrom and Macy’s.

“We all have nothing to lose, really,” said Lorenze. “If you're in a position where you're passionate about something or you want to sell, I think you're doing yourself a disservice to not go after that in this market that we live in—it’s a consumer market. People want to buy products from people. I think that’s a proven fact now.”

Do you like being scared? And a little bit drunk? Well have we got the pop-up for you! House of Spirits: A Haunted Cocktail Soirée an “immersive adult experience” is coming back to Seattle for the 2024 Halloween season.

House of Spirits is basically a haunted house for adults that is being hosted in Los Angeles, Dallas, and Seattle this year — guests drink mini craft cocktails while roaming around a venue that has live music, tarot readings, burlesque acts, and “mystical encounters,” according to the press release announcing the event.

The Seattle version is at the Daughters of the American Revolution Rainier Chapter House on Capitol, a mansion that is being turned into the fictitious Vaughan Mansion for the occasion, which the press release says is “inspired by Ireland’s infamous Loftus Hall” and will merge “Irish folklore with bizarre legends.” There will be lots of costumed performers, naturally, and guests are encouraged to dress up in cocktail attire, Halloween costumes, or period garb.

Tickets can be purchased here and start at $76, which includes tickets for four mini cocktails.

Fogo de Chao set to open downtown

The popular Brazilian steakhouse chain is opening its third location in Washington State on September 2, according to a press release. Fogo de Chao has restaurants in Bellevue and Lynnwood; this newest one will be on the corner of Fourth Avenue and University Street in downtown Seattle. (File this away as a data point on the never-ending “is downtown back yet?” conversation.) Guests will have a view of the grill where chefs butcher, carve, and cook steaks and other protein. A portion of the first week’s sales will be donated to regional food bank Food Lifeline .

Seattle chef headed back to the Food Network

Jhonny Reyes, chef and owner at hip Belltown Nuyorican restaurant Lenox , is already a Chopped Champion thanks to a 2022 appearance on the Food Network. Now he’s going back for seconds: He’ll be on an episode of Alex Vs. America , a competition show hosted by Chopped judge Alex Guarnaschelli, on September 8 at 9 p.m. PST. Hotels Offering U.S. Open Experiences for Guests

Ultra-luxury hotel Aman is offering a U.S. Open Tennis Experience package. Guests will get a two-night stay, two courtside seats for the men’s final, and full-day car service, among other perks — including transportation to and from the tournament on a 48-foot Daychaser yacht. The view en route is sure to be interesting.

Crowne Plaza HY36 , an official U.S. Open partner, is also offering a U.S. Open Package available to loyalty members. The package includes a welcome kit with game day essentials like sunscreen, snacks, a portable fan (aka the accessory of the summer), and portable charger. The hotel is hosting several players, upping the experiential factor. Last year, 362 million users downloaded Firefox, making it one of the top web browsers. Its user-friendly interface is highly regarded and compatible with most operating systems. Firefox offers a built-in password manager that allows users to save passwords for easy website access. By enabling the dark mode, users can reduce blue light emissions and alleviate eye strain, making it an ideal choice for nighttime browsing. The built-in ad blocker also ensures a distraction-free reading experience while prioritising user privacy.

The Samsung Internet browser is specifically designed for Samsung devices, but it is also compatible with other Android phones. This piece will examine how Blake Crouch has set up a second season of the mindbending, time-space-defying sci-fi hit drama Dark Matter . To best understand all the breadcrumbs and hints, we will definitely want to look closely at everything that happened in the finale of Season 1 (specifically in the final 10 minutes), which is currently available to stream on Apple TV+ in the U.S. The critically lauded genre mash-up that details the bizarre events in the life of David Dessen ( Joel Edgerton ), his wife Daniela Dessen ( Jennifer Connelly ), and his son Charlie ( Oakes Fegley ) takes an unexpected twist at the end that left audiences dying for a second season. Thankfully, we now know that it is happening. Several questions involve the solid supporting cast, including Alice Braga , Jimmie Simpson , and Dayo Okeniyi . Where do they sit heading into Season 2, and what do Crouch and his creative group of writers have in store for them heading into a second batch of episodes?

In a Show With Infinite Possibilities, Setting Up Season 2 of 'Dark Matter' Wasn't Hard

Showrunner Blake Crouch and director Jakob Verbruggen use a terrific ending to the first season to set up some curious and compelling possibilities for Season 2 of Dark Matter. He plays it perfectly when the Dessen family returns to the warehouse with the time and space-bending black box in the final scene. There are dozens of alternate Jasons waiting for them as they try to escape the world that is overrun with Jasons, so there is a taut dramatic element at play. But when we learn they are there to see Jason, Daniela, and Charlie off, the tension slowly turns to the Dessens and where they will go.

After injecting themselves with the ampoules, Charlie is the first to set foot into a new universe unseen by the audience. As a beam of light illuminated them, they all make their way through the vault-like door. It sets up all kinds of scenarios moving forward, including what this new world will look like. Will it be a hospitable environment with inhabitants similar to the world they are leaving behind? The first several episodes will revolve around setting up a base world they will live in or move out of.

Season 2 of 'Dark Matter' Will Likely Address the "Multiple Jasons" Problem

It will be difficult not to address the world they have just left and the rampant Jason variation problem . The show started with a singular variation and slowly built to a population that threatened to cause complete chaos, endangering the original Jason's life as he fought off other-worldly versions of himself to protect Daniela and Charlie. By the time the show ended, the audience saw what appeared to be close to 100 Jasons begrudgingly allowing the family to leave.

So, it seems highly unlikely that the "Jason Variation" element of the show will just be wholly choked off just because they switched universes. Ideally, an iteration or two of creeper Jason will emerge in Season 2 and give way to a new threat that messing with quantum physics and the time-space continuum can create. This brings us to another very important piece set up in a quick scene between the show's two main supporting characters in the final sequence, Ryan (Simpson) and Jason's trusted friend and ally, Amanda (Braga).

Ryan Is Going to Share a Storyline With Amanda After Showing Up in Her Universe

The show's two strongest supporting players will certainly be involved in some way in Season 2 . After seeing Ryan experimenting with his serum, he suddenly appears in the world where Amanda has created a new life where she seems content. It remains to be seen if Crouch and his team of writers will reveal how Ryan could perfectly navigate a previously random and punishing box that could only be bested through a grueling process of trial and error immediately or let the viewers sit and stew while the brilliant scientist sits on his secret.

It would make for a compelling plot device if Ryan were to keep his new and improved ampoules all to himself, but it could also be the seed from which a unique and different evil emerges. Ryan has proven he is all about the work and protecting his intellectual property. He would likely justify his actions under the name of patents and scientific advancement. Seeing Jimmi Simpson take his character and enter dark, mad scientist mode would be a welcome addition . Initially, he has to deal with the resourceful and highly intelligent Amanda, OG Jason's ride-or-die buddy.

The Final Sequence of 'Dark Matter' Season 1 Opens Up Spots For the Other Co-Stars

There are a handful of characters that Crouch deftly left the door open to for a return in Season 2. Leighton Vance (Okeniyi), Blair Caplan ( Amanda Brugel ), and Dawn Lawrence ( Aina Brei'Yon ) rounded out a great ensemble, and their characters get a quick update as they are all alive and well (kind of). They have all been through the wringer, but could potentially come back in the next batch of episodes.

We see Leighton emerge from the box, and he has a knowing grin on his face . He is dazzled by the possibilities and has plenty of ampoules in his case to head back in for more . Which version of Leighton will show up, though? The immoral scientist trying to chase down Jason or the bored billionaire who is a friend? Steady ally Blair also appears ready to move past her endless time-space jumping PTSD and perhaps be a bigger player next season. And, of course, Dawn, it won't be hard to discern who the original Dawn is because she won't have any fingers. It is probably a device that Crouch was using to have her appear again at some point as well. The possibilities are literally infinite, and Crouchand Verbruggen masterfully set up the entire cast for a brand-new thrill ride as we patiently await the sophomore season of Dark Matter .

Avoid interacting with pop-ups

Unless you’re confident that they are a legitimate ad, avoid interacting with pop-ups or web pages that seem to take over your screen.

• If you see an annoying pop-up ad in Safari, you can go to the Search field and enter a new URL or search term to browse to a new site. If you can’t see the Search field on your iPhone or iPad, tap the top of the screen to make it appear.

The safest way to download apps for your Mac is from the App Store. If you need software that isn’t available from the App Store, get it directly from the developer or another reliable source, rather than through an ad or link.

Check Safari settings

On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > Safari.

• Turn on Block Pop-ups.
• Turn on Fraudulent Website Warning.

On your Mac, open Safari and choose Safari > Settings (or Preferences) from the menu bar.

• In the Websites tab , you can configure options to  allow or block some or all pop-ups .
• In the Security tab , turn on the setting to warn when visiting a fraudulent website.

If adware or other unwanted software is installed on Mac

If you see pop-ups on your Mac that just won’t go away, you might have unintentionally downloaded and installed adware (advertising-supported software) or other unwanted software. Certain third-party download sites might include software that you don’t want along with the software that you do.

If you think that you might have malware or adware on your Mac:
