Disney cruise food: The ultimate guide to restaurants and dining on board

Megan duBois

One of the best things about a cruise is the food, especially if you're sailing on Disney Cruise Line .

From the oldest Disney ship, Disney Magic , to the newest, Disney Wish , the cruise line has continued to raise the bar when it comes to dining on a cruise ship. One thing that makes Disney cruise dining stand out among its competitors is the line's rotational dining program. Throughout a sailing, guests rotate dinners through three main Disney cruise restaurants, and their service team moves with them.

For cruise news, reviews and tips, sign up for TPG's cruise newsletter .

Along with the three main dining rooms across each ship, each Disney Cruise Line vessel also has an abundance of complimentary casual dining spots, at least one adults-only specialty restaurant and some lounges that offer food at an extra cost. With so many choices across the fleet, it can be confusing to know which restaurants are on which Disney ships.

Our Disney cruise food guide has all you need to know about dining options across the cruise line's fleet, including where to find them and whether they cost extra or are included in your fare. We also answer some of the most popular questions about dining and food on Disney Cruise Line.

Disney's rotational dining restaurants

Enchanted garden.

disney cruise dining

Included and a la carte; rotational dining; breakfast, lunch and dinner

Imagine stepping into a restaurant that's bright with light from the sun and is inspired by the gardens of Versailles. That's exactly what Enchanted Garden is. The venue is one of the rotational dining restaurants on Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream .

Dinner at Enchanted Garden is three courses, with appetizers like lobster ravioli or a curried carrot and apple soup. The sea bass on the entree menu is a favorite of mine and is always cooked to perfection. Polish off the meal with a piece of chocolate torte or a banana sundae.

On every ship fleetwide, sit-down breakfast and lunch are served in one of the rotational dining restaurants daily. Which restaurant hosts breakfast and which hosts lunch varies by itinerary, and they can be the same venue for each meal or different for breakfast and lunch.

Related: The ultimate guide to Disney Cruise Line ships and itineraries

The menus are typically set menus and do not change based on the host venue. On disembarkation day, your family will dine in the final restaurant of your set rotation, whether you ate dinner there or not. All breakfast menus on the final morning are the same across the ship's rotational dining options.

For breakfast, try one of the made-to-order omelets or Mickey-shaped waffles, all served by a team of helpful waiters and waitresses. Then, for lunch, menus feature soups, sandwiches, full entrees and desserts over three courses. Breakfast and lunch are both open seating, so you don't have to wait for a certain time or your assigned dinner table to be open to enjoy a meal.

Animator's Palate

disney cruise dining

Disney Cruise Line's signature rotational dining restaurant is Animator's Palate, which can be found on the four oldest Disney ships. On Disney Magic and Disney Wonder , the restaurant is covered in black-and-white sketches of popular Disney and Pixar characters. On Disney's larger ships, Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream, the space is themed after an animator's studio, complete with maquettes, light boxes and computer workstations.

While enjoying the ambience, you can indulge in a menu filled with Asian and California fusion dishes. One of the most popular, and my favorite dish on the menu, is the black truffle pasta purseittes tossed in a creamy Champagne sauce. For something sweet after dinner, try the creme brulee or opt for a classic Mickey ice cream bar, which can be ordered at any of the rotational dining options fleetwide even though it's not listed on the menu.

Depending on which ship you're on, you have the chance to see three different shows inside Animator's Palate. On Disney Magic (on seven-night sailings or longer) and Disney Fantasy, you can draw your own character and, just before dessert, everyone's drawings are animated and come to life on screens near your seat.

On Disney Magic and Disney Wonder, "Drawn to Magic" shows off characters going from rough sketches to full-color animations. At the end of the show, Sorcerer Mickey stops by to say hello. If you're sailing on Disney Dream or Disney Fantasy, you'll also be able to join in the fun of "Undersea Magic," where Crush, from the Pixar movie "Finding Nemo," swims through the video screens around the room and stops to have conversations with various diners.

Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure

disney cruise dining

Get ready to belt out "Let It Go" for the millionth time at Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure . This rotational dining restaurant on Disney Wish highlights Norwegian-inspired dishes. One highlight of the menu is Elsa's Royal Baked Scallops, which is scallops in a tarragon bisque loaded into a crock that's topped with puff pastry and baked to golden brown perfection. If your sweet tooth is as big as Anna and Elsa's, you can indulge in desserts like butter cake, apple cake or a mint chocolate chip sundae.

The dinner experience also includes a mealtime show. Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Olaf make their way around the restaurant to meet guests and perform songs from "Frozen" on stage. A highlight is when Elsa's "ice magic" from the movie lights up the dining room through fiber optics in the ceiling. Kids can join in the final celebration and march around the restaurant conga line-style as they wave flags and sing along to "Love is an Open Door" with the dining room service team.

Available on : Disney Wish

Lumiere's

"Beauty and the Beast" fans will love dining in the restaurant named after the candelabra in the film. When you walk into Lumiere's, you'll notice more nods to the animated classic, including glass domes covering red roses and a large mural that shows the iconic ballroom scene from the fan-favorite movie.

This restaurant is part of the rotational dining program on Disney Magic, and a four-course, French-inspired meal is waiting for you. Highlights of the menu include a bacon and mushroom tart, French onion soup, roasted duck breast and creme brulee.

Additionally, breakfast and dinner are served here for those who want a more relaxing meal. Breakfast is fairly basic, with options like made-to-order omelets and pancakes. The lunch menu rotates daily and is a three-course meal.

Available on : Disney Magic

disney cruise dining

Disney Wish's 1923 is one of the best rotational dining options across Disney Cruise Line. The restaurant is named after the year that The Walt Disney Company was founded and celebrates animation through glass-encased shadow boxes of sketches and maquettes of Disney characters.

The restaurant is divided into two dining rooms named after Walt and his brother Roy, though both serve the same menu, which celebrates California cuisine. My favorite dishes include the seared tuna appetizer, grilled filet entree and the churros with caramel dipping sauce. This is a great spot for a steakhouse date night, too, so if you have kids, drop them off in the kids club and enjoy a meal to yourself without having to pay extra for Palo Steakhouse.

Located just off the Grand Hall, 1923 also offers a waiter-served breakfast and lunch every sailing day. Menus for both can be seen on the Disney Cruise Line app or by asking a crew member at the restaurant. Be sure to ask for a seat near a window because the views are usually incredible.

Rapunzel's Royal Table

disney cruise dining

My favorite rotational dining restaurant on Disney Magic is Rapunzel's Royal Table, which is themed after the Disney movie "Tangled." The restaurant features dinner and a show. Enjoy a meal while being entertained by Rapunzel, Flynn Rider, the thugs and ruffians from The Snuggly Duckling and a live band, who are all celebrating Rapunzel's birthday.

Dinner here is one of the best on the ship, with dishes like beef and portobello mushroom ravioli, sea bass with Champagne-truffle vinaigrette, and pesto pasta with seared scallops. Of course, no birthday party is complete without dessert, and the menu is filled with options like creme brulee cheesecake and chocolate cake.

Royal Court

disney cruise dining

The fine dining option for rotational dining on Disney Fantasy is Royal Court. The restaurant serves a French-inspired menu for dinner with dishes like lobster and shrimp cocktail, wild boar tenderloin and peanut butter mousse — which just happens to be my favorite combination of courses to order here.

The dining room is also open for breakfast and lunch for table service meals in a beautiful atmosphere. The breakfast menu is the standard fare, though do look out for the pastry plate that is walked around by a server and try one of the sweet cinnamon rolls. Lunch is a three-course meal with a rotating menu throughout the cruise.

Available on : Disney Fantasy

Royal Palace

disney cruise dining

Cruisers looking for a spot to enjoy a meal at a leisurely pace will love Royal Palace. The restaurant is part of Disney's rotational dining service for dinner but is also open for breakfast and lunch. Dinner is a four-course meal inspired by French cuisine with dishes like spinach souffle, rack of lamb and creme brulee.

Breakfast is fairly basic with traditional morning options, but it's always nice to be served rather than fight others at the buffet line. Lunch is a three-course meal where the menu changes daily, so be sure to check the cruise line app for the most up-to-date menus once you board the ship.

Available on : Disney Dream

Tiana's Place

disney cruise dining

Exclusive to Disney Wonder is Tiana's Place, part of the rotational dining roster on the ship. The restaurant is themed after the Disney animated movie "The Princess and the Frog," with a menu that highlights Creole and Cajun cooking. While enjoying your dinner, you'll also be entertained by a live jazz band playing songs from the movie and other instrumental melodies.

Of course, no dinner at a New Orleans-themed restaurant on a Disney ship is complete without seeing the Bayou princess herself, Tiana. She swings by nightly and gets everyone out of their seats to parade around the restaurant with servers just like a parade through the French Quarter.

Available on : Disney Wonder

Triton's

disney cruise dining

The last of the rotational dining options on Disney Wonder is Triton's, which is the ship's fine dining option among the rotational dining restaurants. The art deco-style restaurant is themed after "The Little Mermaid," with a mural of Ariel and King Triton, plus a bronze statue of Ariel just outside the restaurant.

Breakfast here is fairly basic but more relaxing than hitting the buffet line. Menu options include omelets, French toast and fruit. The three-course lunch menu is a nice alternative if you're looking for a table-service lunch.

Related: How much does a Disney cruise really cost?

Dinner features French and American fare with dishes like duck confit and escargot for starters, then roasted lamb shank or lobster macaroni and cheese for entrees. One thing not to miss when it's on the menu is the Grand Marnier souffle, which is my favorite dessert across the entire Disney Cruise Line fleet.

Worlds of Marvel

disney cruise dining

Fans of the Avengers and other Marvel characters will love dining in Worlds of Marvel . The meal starts with your hosts, Ant-Man and the Wasp, explaining what the interactive quantum core on your table is for. Then, throughout the meal, you'll work with Marvel superheroes to save the ship from an impending villain.

The menu at Worlds of Marvel is themed after the different fictional and real locations featured in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, like Wakanda, New York and Sokovia. Highlights of the menu include a pork belly bao bun, chicken schnitzel and a lamb shawarma salad. If you're looking for a vegetarian option, the ricotta gnocchi with fontina cheese and pesto sauces is a delightful plate.

Extra-fee specialty dining on Disney Cruise Line

Enchante by chef arnaud lallement.

disney cruise dining

Extra cost; adults-only; brunch, dinner and dessert

Adults looking for a culinary wonderland on Disney Wish will want to make reservations for the French-inspired dining experience, Enchante by Chef Arnaud Lallement , whose restaurant L'Assiette Champenoise in Reims, France, has three Michelin stars.

For all three meal services — brunch, dinner and dessert — ingredients are sourced from around the world, and no two menus are ever the same. Dinner is a fine dining experience that can take upward of three hours, so you might miss the evening show in the Walt Disney Theater. Schedule your dinner with care if there's a show you don't want to miss.

The Champagne brunch at Enchante is a prix-fixe meal paired with a glass of Champagne, while Just Desserts is a five-course dessert menu served with some of the best coffee on the ship.

Related: 7 reasons you should treat yourself to a cruise ship specialty restaurant

Pricing for brunch, dinner and dessert starts at $80, $135 and $60, respectively, for a prix-fixe meal. There is also an a la carte menu for brunch and dinner.

disney cruise dining

Extra cost; adults-only; brunch and dinner

Drop your kids off at the Oceaneer Club or Oceaneer Lab and head to Palo, an adults-only Italian restaurant on four Disney ships. The restaurant is named after the poles used by gondoliers in Venice. Walking into Palo, you'll notice the panoramic windows looking to the ocean that offer spectacular sunset views.

Dinner at the restaurant can be done as an a la carte meal where you pay for each item or a set cost prix-fixe menu for $50. I prefer to do the a la carte menu because it has more options. Plus, most of the dishes are shared among family or friends, so choosing this option makes it so I can try more things. The a la carte menu is also the only way to try the restaurant's iconic potato gnocchi, which is tossed in a fresh basil pesto sauce.

Related: The best $50 you can spend on a Disney cruise

No matter which you choose, be sure to get the signature Palo chocolate souffle with vanilla bean gelato for dessert.

Brunch is a more casual affair than dinner but no less delicious at $50. Brunch at Palo is one of my favorite things to do on Disney Cruise Line, and the meal service is offered on all ships on most sea days. If you don't have a sea day on your itinerary, brunch might be served on a port day. On a recent cruise, I made a reservation for brunch at Palo when the ship was docked in Nassau, Bahamas.

Brunch starts with a glass of prosecco or a mimosa, then your choice of antipasti plates. I suggest taking a few people with you to brunch so you can try a few of the dishes on the menu, though one not to miss is the chicken Parmesan that's served with risotto. Another favorite is the lasagna, which is the perfect size for everyone to get a few bites before moving on to something else. The almond croissants are heavenly. If you eat your first almond croissant in a hurry, just ask your server if they can bring you another one.

Additionally, Platinum- and Pearl-level Castaway Club members get one free dinner at Palo per sailing for everyone sharing their cabin.

Available on : Disney Wonder, Magic, Fantasy and Dream

Palo Steakhouse

disney cruise dining

While the four older Disney Cruise Line ships have Palo, Disney Wish has a new variation of the popular adults-only restaurant called Palo Steakhouse. The ocean-facing restaurant serves dinner nightly and brunch on most sea days and the occasional port day.

The dinner menu is similar to that of Palo on the other Disney ships, with a prix-fixe dinner starting at $50 and an a la carte option. The a la carte menu emphasizes steaks, with American prime cuts, Australian wagyu and Japanese Kobe and Miyazaki beef you can pair with one of five sauces. If you ask, you can also get a sauce flight to try all of the options with your steak.

Do not overlook the dessert menu. While the classic chocolate souffle is available, the carrot cake with lemon cream cheese frosting is an exquisite end to a meal.

Brunch, which is also $50, is the same menu across the fleet, so you can get your favorite items here while overlooking the ocean in an elegant setting.

Additionally, Platinum- and Pearl-level Castaway Club members get one free dinner at Palo Steakhouse per sailing to share with everyone in their cabin.

disney cruise dining

Adults looking for an upscale meal without kids will want to book Remy on Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy. The adults-only French restaurant is themed after the Pixar movie "Ratatouille," and eagle-eyed diners will even spot the little chef made of glass perched in the dining room. The menus here are curated by chef Scott Hunnel from Walt Disney World's Victoria & Albert's and chef Arnaud Lallement.

The dinner service starts with a complimentary Champagne cocktail called "Collette" after the female chef in "Ratatouille." The tasting menu does change seasonally, so no matter when you go, you'll find something new to try. After your meal, a cheese trolley comes around to serve a selection of cheeses from France along with accompaniments. Finish off your meal with coffee and dessert. The prix-fixe menu at Remy is $135, and there's also an a la carte menu.

Related: 11 ways to save money on a Disney cruise

On four-night or longer sailings, Remy also offers brunch and a dessert event, which are $80 and $65, respectively. Brunch at Remy is prix fixe with dishes like lobster cannelloni and sea bass, plus a glass of Champagne and a dessert. Those with a sweet tooth will want to try the dessert service where a five-course dessert menu is served with coffee. During the sweet meal, Remy's executive chef and pastry chef will talk about the history of each dessert and how it's made.

Available on : Disney Dream and Fantasy

Olaf's Royal Picnic

Extra cost; character experience

For even more "Frozen" fun on Disney Wish, kids can spend time with their favorite characters from the movie at Olaf's Royal Picnic, an extra-cost lunch and character experience. The event, which isn't a true picnic, takes place inside Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure and features a two-course meal, one savory and one sweet. While enjoying lunch at one of the restaurant tables, kids and their accompanying adults can sing along to "Frozen" songs and meet Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Olaf.

For kids ages 3 to 12, pricing for the event is $220 and includes lunch and a goodie bag filled with gifts like an Olaf hat, a mandolin and a plush troll doll. Adult meals are $69.

Royal Court Royal Tea

Extra cost; character experience; tea party

If your kids love tea parties and Disney princesses, you might want to book one of the Royal Court Royal Tea experiences on a Disney cruise. The tea party is for young cruisers ages 3 to 12, though a parent will have to accompany their children.

During the tea party, kids can choose from a selection of teas and pair their drinks with one sweet and one savory course. A Royal hostess and pastry chef tell stories, dance and sing with the group before welcoming in a few Disney princesses. Each child will receive an assortment of gifts as a keepsake after the event.

Pricing is $220 for kids ages 3 to 12 and $69 for adults. Kids ages 13 to 17 years old who attend with a younger sibling will be charged the adult price.

Casual Disney cruise dining options and snacks

disney cruise dining

Included; buffet; breakfast and lunch

Cabanas is Disney's buffet on its older ships, with 10 food stations in a beach-themed space. For breakfast, you can get everything from eggs and hash browns to Mickey-shaped waffles and fruit. Typically, once per cruise, the buffet will also offer churro Mickey waffles, which are a sweet take on the traditional breakfast dish.

For lunch, you can try out a variety of salads, sandwiches and pizzas. If you're looking for something heartier, try the carving station near the back of the buffet. The classic kids menu options of macaroni and cheese and chicken strips are readily available as well. Be sure to find the towering piles of crab legs and poached shrimp that grace the buffet line as well.

Marceline Market

disney cruise dining

Marceline Market is named after Walt Disney's hometown of Marceline, Missouri. The food hall-style buffet serves breakfast and lunch.

The casual eatery has a variety of breakfast options, including an omelet station, Asian favorites like congee and fried rice, and a kids station with pancakes and Mickey-shaped waffles. Lunch is a bigger deal here with a carving station, a salad bar, an international station where I've had great Indian food and a dessert bar.

One thing to note about Marceline Market versus Cabanas on the other Disney ships is that at Marceline Market, crew members often fill up your plate for you and then pass it over the glass food guards. This process makes the buffet a little easier and healthier than the self-serve option.

The buffet has both inside and outside seating, so on warm sea days, take your plate outside to enjoy the view of the ship's wake.

Mickey & Friends Festival of Foods

disney cruise dining

Included; lunch, dinner and snacks

Near Disney Wish's main pool is Mickey & Friends Festival of Foods. This outdoor open-air concept is made up of five smaller quick-service windows dishing out barbecue, pizza, burgers, tacos and ice cream. My favorite is Donald's Cantina, which is a make-your-own Tex-Mex spot with plenty of base, protein and topping options, along with a nearby salsa and hot sauce bar.

One big bonus to this location is that it's open until 6 p.m., so if you don't want to deal with one of the main dining rooms for dinner, you can come here early for a casual meal.

Flo's Cafe

Included; lunch and snacks

If you're out by the pool and in need of a quick lunch or a snack, stop by Flo's Cafe, which is made up of three different "Cars"-themed windows serving cruise classics like burgers, pizza, salad and chicken tenders.

Pinocchio's Pizzeria

Included; casual dining; snacks and lunch

If you're looking for a hot slice of pizza, look no further than Pinocchio's Pizzeria. The menu is small, with only a few pie choices, including cheese, pepperoni and vegetarian. That said, the pizza is always hot and fresh, making this a great poolside snack while watching a movie on the funnel TV.

Available on : Disney Wonder and Magic

Pete's Broiler Bites

Included; casual dining; lunch, dinner and snacks

If Cabanas is too busy or you just want a quick meal, head to Pete's Broiler Bites. The outdoor grill has a menu filled with American classics like burgers, hot dogs, brats and chicken tenders, all of which can be served with crispy fries. This is a hot spot on sea days for quick snacks and meals at lunchtime, so go during off times for a shorter wait.

Daisy's De-Lites

Included; casual dining; snacks

You'll find Daisy's De-Lites near the pool on Disney Magic and Disney Wonder. The casual counter-service spot has a nice selection of salads, sandwiches, wraps and fruit. I like to grab a wrap and some fruit to take with me to watch a movie on the funnel or in the cinemas on the ship.

Duck-In Diner

Outside on the pool deck of Disney Magic, Duck-In Diner dishes out lunch and snacks to hungry cruisers. The menu here is a fun mix of American favorites like burgers and dogs, plus Middle Eastern-inspired shawarma wrapped in a warm pita. I love the shawarma because you can see it rotating on a vertical spit right behind the counter and load up your sandwich with your favorite toppings.

Eye Scream Treats

disney cruise dining

Included; snacks

One of my favorite things about a cruise is the unlimited soft serve ice cream. At Eye Scream Treats, you can get as many ice cream cones or cups as you want throughout your sailing. The flavors do change daily, so check out what's mixing in the machines each day.

Extra-fee snacks

disney cruise dining

Extra cost; snacks

Just outside the Walt Disney Theater is a snack bar where you can get candy, popcorn and drinks before a show or movie. Before you even get to Preludes, you will smell the freshly popped popcorn, which can be served in a souvenir popcorn bucket. If you bring your bucket back to Preludes, you can enjoy discounted popcorn refills throughout your cruise. Buckets that are brought on board from other cruises or from a Disney Park are not available for refills at the discounted price.

Available : Fleetwide

Frozone Treats

While most food and snacks on Disney Cruise Line are included, some options are not, including Frozone Treats. This small snack stand whips up poolside smoothies for an extra cost that can be charged to your onboard bill.

Available on : Disney Magic, Fantasy and Dream

Sweet on You

Sweet on You is the adorable ice cream shop on Disney Fantasy. The snack shop has a variety of ice cream and gelatos that can be paired with 32 different toppings. There's also a whole case of baked goods, including cookies and cupcakes, and confections like truffles and candy. Each of the treats is an additional cost that can be charged to your cabin with your room key.

Senses Juice Bar

After a hard workout or time in the steam room, nothing is more refreshing than a fresh juice or smoothie. At Senses Juice Bar, you can get blended drinks made with fruit and veggies, then take them over to a small cafe table to look out onto the ocean or port of call while you enjoy your drink.

Vanellope's Sweets & Treats

disney cruise dining

Get a sugar rush at Vanellope's Sweets & Treats, which is themed after the movie "Wreck-It Ralph." The extra-cost snack shop has everything from gelato in crispy waffle cones to baked goodies and candy.

Inside Out: Joyful Sweets

Even though there are plenty of snacks and sweets available as part of your cruise fare, you might want to pop into Inside Out: Joyful Sweets to treat yourself to a sugary splurge. The sweet shop is where you can find hand-scooped gelato and ice cream in a variety of flavors. The shop is also known for its "Memory Orbs" cupcakes that pay tribute to the main characters in the Pixar movie "Inside Out."

Wheezy's Freezies

Wheezy's Freezies is the onboard smoothie shop on Disney Wish. Indulge in fruity drinks for an extra fee.

Room Service

disney cruise dining

Included and a la carte; breakfast, lunch and dinner

Unlike many other cruise lines that charge for room service, Disney Cruise Line still includes room service in its fares. In the morning, continental breakfast offerings can be delivered to your room from 7 to 10 a.m. To get breakfast, you will need to fill out one of the request cards in your room and leave it hanging on the door the night before your meal. Alternatively, you can call room service from your cabin phone to order in the morning.

For lunch and dinner, the menu is filled with sandwiches, salads, soups and desserts. If there are chicken wings listed on the menu, I implore you to get them. I always get an order after a day at Castaway Cay, Disney's private island, and the wings consistently arrive hot and crispy.

Don't forget that you can order Mickey's Premium Ice Cream Bars from room service even though the sweet treat is not on the menu. I love ordering one of these on a sea day to enjoy while taking in the view of the ocean from the balcony of my room.

Frequently asked Disney Cruise Line questions

disney cruise dining

How does rotational dining work?

You will be assigned a rotational dining restaurant for each night of your cruise. You will move through all three main dining rooms throughout your cruise and more than once on sailings longer than three nights. Your service team will move with you, and your table number will remain the same each night. At booking, you will select either main dining (5:45 p.m.) or late dining (8:15 p.m.) for your dining time. Your selected time will always be the opposite of the time you are slated to see the show inside the Walt Disney Theater.

Do I need reservations for specialty restaurants?

Yes, reservations are highlight recommended for all of the adults-only specialty restaurants fleetwide. Reservations can be made online as early as 123 days prior to your embarkation day, depending on your level within Disney's loyalty program called Castaway Club.

It's best to make reservations as early as possible so you know you have a guaranteed table at the time slot that you want. Some reservations for Palo, Palo Steakhouse, Remy and Enchante might be available to book once you're on board, but it's not guaranteed.

What drinks are included with my cruise fare?

Most drinks are included with your overall Disney cruise cost. These include drip coffee, juice, soda from soda machines, tap water, milk, tea and lemonade. The exceptions are alcoholic drinks, canned sodas from bars, bottled water and smoothies, which are purchased individually and charged to your folio.

We love dining at Palo on our Disney cruises. Jaimie, who mostly eats vegan food, loves the menu options. And I, a seafood lover, enjoy the freshness and flavor of the seafood dishes (especially the Dover Sole).

Bottom Line : Jaime and I both agree Palo is a great value for what you get, and the food and service are excellent. It caters to a variety of tastes, and the quality of the experience surpasses that of the inclusive dining option. We both feel it’s worth the extra expense.

  • Dinner : $135 per person
  • Brunch : $80 per person
  • Dessert Experience : $65 per person

Remy Menu Highlights

  • Starters : Try the Royal Norway Lobster with Caesar Sauce or Alaskan King Crab with Cannelloni.
  • Main Courses : Enjoy the Coastal Turbot with Vin Faune and Gnocchi or Australian Wagyu with Garlic-Potato Purée.
  • Desserts : Indulge in the Vanilla Poached Pear or the Fondant Chocolat Croustillant.
  • Wine Pairing : Remy’s impressive Wine Room houses over 900 bottles of Old and New World wines. Upgrade your meal with a wine pairing for each dish, expertly chosen to enhance its flavors.
  • Exclusive Brunch and Dessert Experiences : Remy offers unique dining experiences like the Remy Champagne Brunch and the Remy Dessert Experience. Available on cruises of 4 nights or longer, these include a fixed-price meal and a multi-course dessert menu, respectively.
  • Culinary Creations by Renowned Chefs : The gourmet menu at Remy is a creation of Chef Arnaud Lallement and Chef Scott Hunnel. Lallement is one of the few chefs in the world to hold three Michelin stars, while Hunnel is Executive Chef at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

You must dress formally or with a clean, polished look. Remy does not allow jeans, shorts, capri pants, flip-flops, or tennis shoes.

Booking & Cancellation

Given the popularity and limited seating at Remy, I encourage you to make your reservation soon after you book your cruise. Should you need to cancel, you must do this no less than 24 hours before your dining time to avoid a cancellation fee.

Is Remy Worth It?

My wife Jaimie and I have a slightly different take on Remy’s value. Jaimie feels the specialty restaurant is worth every penny because of its gourmet cuisine, attentive service, and beautiful setting. In her view, Remy provides an extraordinary culinary experience.

I personally find the price tag at Remy to be on the high side. However, I do agree the food and service has always been outstanding.

Bottom Line : If you appreciate high-end dining and can fit Remy into your cruise budget, it’s a memorable specialty restaurant we recommend trying. But if the price seems steep and you don’t have an adventurous palate, you may be just as satisfied with the inclusive dining options.

While we have different perspectives on the cost-value ratio, we agree Remy delivers a top-notch fine dining experience. For luxury cruisers passionate about food, it’s a worthy splurge.

Enchanté: An Elegant, Fine Dining Experience at Sea

The dining room at Enchante, with intimate lighting and white tablecloths

On my recent trip on the Disney Wish, Disney’s newest cruise ship, Jaimie and I tried that ship’s unique dining experiences designed for guests aged 18 and over. Despite the extra cost, we found them to be well worth it.

Enchanté, the new addition to Disney Wish , is an adult-exclusive venue that redefines elegance at sea. It offers a variety of dining experiences, from multi-course dinners to desserts and brunch, making every meal a special occasion.

Noteworthy features include:

  • “Beauty and the Beast” Theme : Inspired by Lumière, the beloved candelabra, Enchanté’s ambiance is as enchanting as the Disney classic.
  • Michelin-Starred Expertise : Under the guidance of three-Michelin-starred Chef Arnaud Lallement, the menu is a testament to exceptional culinary craftsmanship.
  • French-Inspired Menu : Like Remy, Enchanté offers a sophisticated selection of French-inspired dishes.
  • Flexible Pricing : Pricing begins at $65 for a dessert tasting, rising to $135 for a 6-course dinner and $205 for a 9-course extravaganza. Brunch is available at $80 per person. An à la carte dinner menu offers added versatility.
  • Diverse Dining Choices : Whether you prefer a sumptuous six-course dinner or exclusive à la carte options like Caviar or Maine Lobster, Enchanté caters to a range of dining tastes.
  • Brunch Availability : On select cruise days, a gourmet brunch transforms your midday meal into a memorable event.
  • Breathtaking Ocean Views : Enchanté’s panoramic ocean views further elevate the dining experience.

Enchanté on Disney Wish is an irresistible culinary destination for those seeking a magical dining experience.

Lumiere leads the way to Enchanté

Lumiere leads the way to Enchanté

Is Enchanté Worth It?

Definitely, Enchanté was worth it for us!

Enchanté offered us an intimate and upscale experience. Its inventive French-inspired menu, combined with stunning ocean views, was truly delightful. My wife, Jaimie, especially enjoyed Enchanté.

A true food enthusiast, Jaimie said, “The dining experience at Enchanté perfectly combined excellent cuisine and breathtaking views.” We both agree it significantly improved our overall cruise experience.

I’d recommend this experiences to couples seeking a romantic evening or food enthusiasts wanting to try unique dishes . If you want a break from the buffet or main dining room options, it’s a great alternative. But, those on a tighter budget or who prefer casual dining might find the extra cost and dress code less appealing . For us, though, they were highlights of our Disney Wish adventure!

Palo Steakhouse: Italian Elegance with Steakhouse Appeal

Chairs and tables in front of large floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the ocean, at Palo Steakhouse onboard the Disney Wish cruise ship

Located on Deck 12 of the Disney Wish , Palo Steakhouse provides a distinctive fusion of Italian sophistication and hearty steakhouse allure. Here, guests can relish in a limitless brunch or an exquisite prix fixe dinner.

Key features of this exceptional dining venue include:

  • Intriguing Design : Drawing inspiration from Cogsworth of Beauty and the Beast, the restaurant’s decor showcases rich woods and polished metals, crafting an atmosphere of Italian elegance. For intimate gatherings, a private dining room accommodates up to 12 guests.
  • Gourmet Menu : The restaurant serves a blend of Italian dishes and prime steak cuts from around the world, including American, Australian wagyu, Japanese Kobe, and Miyazaki beef. The dessert list features Palo’s famous chocolate soufflé.
  • Versatile Dining Options : Palo Steakhouse offers brunch on select days, with items like Lemon-Marinated Shrimp, Zucchini Frittata, and Strawberry Waffles. A daily dinner menu is available, featuring a Prezzo Fisso option alongside a variety of à la carte dishes.
  • Outstanding Pairings : The restaurant offers a curated selection of Italy’s best wines and robust craft beers with every meal.
  • Magnificent Views : Stunning ocean views complement the refined ambiance of the restaurant.
  • Cost : Brunch and dinner have a flat rate of $50, exclusive of beverages and gratuities.

Palo Steakhouse on Disney Wish offers a unique and refined dining experience, merging luxury, fine cuisine, and breathtaking views.

Not to be outdone by Lumiere, Cogsworth keeps time at Palo Steakhouse

Cogsworth keeps time at Palo Steakhouse

Is Palo Steakhouse Worth It?

My wife and I both felt Palo Steakhouse was worth the money we spent.

The blend of Italian elegance and steakhouse ambiance was a refreshing change of pace. I enjoyed the variety of delicious steaks and tasty Italian dishes at a reasonable price. Even though Jaimie isn’t a meat eater, she found plenty on the menu to enjoy.

Palo Steakhouse is a great choice for those who still want an upscale dining experience but don’t want to spend quite as much money as Enchanté charges. But like the other specialty dining choices, there is still an upcharge and a dress code, which might be off-putting to some cruisers.

Can Children Eat at Specialty Restaurants?

When planning your dining on Disney Cruise Line, remember that specialty dining venues like Palo and Remy have an age restriction. They’re strictly for adults, so no guests under 18 years are allowed .

This adults-only approach creates a relaxed and intimate dining atmosphere. However, this doesn’t mean younger guests are left without enjoyable dining options. Disney Cruise Line offers a range of family-friendly dining alternatives that cater to younger guests.

Pros and Cons of Specialty Dining on Disney Cruise Line

  • Exceptional Culinary Experience : Expect visually stunning and delicious meals expertly crafted by top chefs.
  • Diverse Menus : A range of menus ensures something for every palate.
  • First-Class Service : Attentive staff enhances your overall dining experience.
  • Elegant Ambience : Specialty dining venues offer a sophisticated atmosphere, perfect for special occasions.
  • Unique Dining Experience : These venues provide a distinctive dining experience, different from standard cruise fare.
  • Additional Cost : Unlike the main dining options, specialty dining adds to your overall cruise expenses.
  • Reservations Needed : The popularity of these venues makes booking difficult during peak times.
  • Formal Dress Code : The dress code is stricter than in the main dining areas, which may not appeal to everyone.
  • Potential for Over-Formality : Some guests might find the atmosphere too formal, preferring a more relaxed dining experience.

Tips for Maximizing Your Specialty Dining Experience

  • Early Reservations : Make reservations as early as possible to ensure your preferred dining times.
  • Dress Appropriately : Remember venues like Palo and Remy enforce a dress code. Dressing appropriately enhances the experience, so be sure to add some nicer clothes to your Disney Cruise packing list .
  • Open Palate : Be ready to try innovative dishes. Expert chefs often surprise guests with creative culinary creations.
  • Savor the Experience : Take your time. Specialty dining is as much about the experience as it is about the food.
  • Book with The Vacationeer : For a seamless experience, consider booking with The Vacationeer . They assist with reservations, provide expert recommendations, and even offer onboard credit, making your specialty dining experience memorable and stress-free.

Specialty Snack Options on Disney Cruises

The Disney Cruise Line offers a variety of specialty snack options beyond the included fare. Although they aren’t free, I think these unique treats they offer are worth the additional cost.

  • Frozone Treats (Disney Magic, Dream, Fantasy – Deck 9) : Serves refreshing frozen-fruit smoothies.
  • Inside Out: Joyful Sweets (Disney Wish – Deck 11) : Offers hand-scooped gelato, fresh waffle cones, baked treats, and candy.
  • Preludes (Disney Magic, Dream, Wonder, Fantasy) : Serves drinks, snacks, cocktails, and candy before show time, located next to the Walt Disney Theatre.
  • Senses Juice Bar (Disney Dream, Fantasy) : Provides vitamin-infused, protein-filled boost post-workout or massage, located right outside the Senses Spa .
  • Sweet on You (Disney Fantasy – Deck 11) : A tempting gelato parlor serving hand-scooped gelato, fresh waffle cones, baked treats, and candy.
  • Vanellope’s Sweets & Treats (Disney Dream – Deck 11) : A dream candy store offering hand-scooped gelato, fresh waffle cones, baked treats, and candy.
  • Wheezy’s Freezies (Disney Wish – Deck 12) : Serves invigorating frozen-fruit smoothies by the pool.
  • Wishing Star Cafe (Disney Wish – Deck 4) : A specialty coffee bar and cocktail lounge in one.

Note : If you are looking for a treat that won’t cost you anything, there are soft-serve ice cream stations where you can enjoy free ice cream.

Final Thoughts: Specialty Dining on Disney Cruise Line

Disney Cruise Line’s specialty restaurants like Enchanté, Palo Steakhouse, and Remy offer luxurious fine dining experiences with exquisite cuisine, exceptional service, and sophisticated adults-only ambiance. While carrying an additional cost, they significantly elevate your cruise to new heights.

As Jaimie and I discovered, the expense of specialty dining is well justified by the superior service, intimate atmosphere, and extraordinary culinary creations you’ll discover. It became a highlight of our Disney cruises. However, the included restaurant options may be more suitable for those on a tighter budget or desiring a more casual dining experience.

Ultimately, the value specialty dining brings comes down to your personal preferences and cruise expectations. Quick Service Options

Star Wars Day Buffet on the Disney Fantasy | Magic in the Planning

Cabanas (Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy) – Designed to look and feel like a boardwalk, this restaurant serves as the main buffet dining on four of the Disney ships. With an eclectic variety of food choices, there really is something for everyone. Even picky little ones will have plenty of options for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Daisy’s De-Lites (Disney Magic, Disney Wonder) – If you’re looking to eat a little healthier, this is the place. They serve a variety of salads, sandwiches, wraps, and fruit.

Duck-In Diner (Disney Magic) – This quick-service restaurant serves Middle Eastern shawarma made with chicken and lamb along with classic American food such as hamburgers and hot dogs.

Eye Scream Treats (Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy) – This is the place to get unlimited soft-serve ice cream board!

Flo’s Cafe (Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy) – Here you will find Luigi’s Pizza, Tow Mater’s Grill, and Fillmore’s Favorites serving a wide selection of burgers, chicken, pizza, salads, and sandwiches.

Frozone Treats (Disney Magic, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy) – Located poolside, here you will find frozen fruit smoothies (offered at an additional fee.)

Inside Out: Joyful Sweets (Disney Wish) – Enjoy hand-scooped gelato served in freshly made waffle cones. Treats include candy-filled chocolate “Memory Orbs” and colorful cupcakes that pay tribute to the film’s characters – Joy (lemon), Sadness (blueberry), Disgust (pistachio), Anger (red velvet) and Fear (bubble gum). Other specialties include macarons, cake pops, handcrafted truffles, designer cookies, chocolatey brownies, and assorted candies. (These sweet treats are offered at an additional fee.)

Marceline Market (Disney Wish) – Like Cabanas, this is the main dining buffet onboard the Disney Wish featuring a variety of American classics, International specialties, comfort foods, seafood, soups and salads, vegetarian and plant-based fare, as well as baked goods and desserts. During breakfast and lunch, Marceline Market offers a casual, walk-around dining experience. At dinner, guests can experience table-service dining with entrees cooked to order.

Mickey & Friends Festival of Foods (Disney Wish) – Enjoy pizza, burgers, tacos, BBQ, and other favorites including signature soft-serve ice cream. Choose from a selection of 5 uniquely themed quick-serve venues: Mickey’s Smokestack Barbecue, Daisy’s Pizza Pies, Goofy’s Grill, Sweet Minnie’s Ice Cream, and Donald’s Cantina.

Pete’s Boiler Bites (Disney Wonder) – Here you can enjoy classic American fare like burgers, hot dogs, and tacos for lunch or dinner.

Pinocchio’s Pizzeria (Disney Magic, Disney Wonder) – Available during lunch and snack times just next to Goofy’s pool, this place serves several kinds of pizza to enjoy.

Preludes (Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy) – Most of the snacks here are available for an additional fee. It’s a great place to grab popcorn, beverages, and other miscellaneous snacks to enjoy during the amazing shows onboard. (You’ll also find wait staff inside the theater offering snacks to purchase just before showtime.)

Room Service (Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, Disney Wish) – Room service onboard all five Disney ships is available 24 hours a day and offers a wide range of choices. (Some of the choices are an additional fee, but much of the menu is included in the price of your cruise.)

Sweet on You (Disney Fantasy) – Here you will find specialty ice cream, cookies, cupcakes, and more (available at an additional cost.)

Vanellope’s Sweets & Treats (Disney Dream) – Similar to the sweets shop on the Disney Fantasy, this place is inspired by Princess Vanellope’s love of all things candy! (Treats are available for an additional cost.)

Wheezy’s Freezies (Disney Wish) – Inspired by everyone’s favorite penguin from Toy Story II , this poolside spot mixes up frozen-fruit smoothies.

Rotational Dining

One of the most unique dining aspects of a Disney Cruise is its rotational dining. Each night, your party rotates between three main restaurants on board, and your wait staff rotates with you. This allows you to try all that Disney has to offer while at the same time giving your waiters the opportunity to serve you better as they get to know you!

1923 (Disney Wish) – Step back in time and experience classic Hollywood glamour with a touch of Disney magic. This dining destination pays homage to the year when the legendary animation studio was founded in Southern California. With two stunning dining rooms named after the brothers who started it all – Walt and Roy, 1923 is a feast for the senses. Admire drawings, props, and other animation tools that depict the evolution of Disney animation from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to Frozen II.

Animator’s Palate (Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy) – This is definitely one of the most unique dining experiences onboard, and you can find it on four Disney cruise ships. Offering Pacific Island foods, Asian cooking, and fresh California fare, Disney animation comes to life throughout your meal.

Arendelle - A Frozen Dining Adventure | Magic in the Planning

Enchanted Garden (Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy) – Inspired by the gardens of Versailles, this restaurant is truly breathtaking. It serves a market-style menu and is one of the main dining restaurants onboard that also serves breakfast and lunch.

Lumiere’s (Disney Magic) – This Main Dining restaurant found only on the Disney Magic serves American cuisine for breakfast and lunch and contemporary French fare for dinner.

Rapunzel’s Royal Table (Disney Magic) – This restaurant is only available on the Disney Magic and currently serves dinner on Disney’s rotational dining. It serves American favorites as well as flavors from around the world. And did I mention there is also live entertainment and character appearances?

Royal Court (Disney Fantasy) – This restaurant, serving French-inspired, continental fare, is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on board the Disney Fantasy, and its decor is inspired by several different Disney fairy tales.

Dining on Disney Cruise Line | Magic in the Planning

Royal Palace (Disney Dream) – This restaurant is very similar to the Royal Court on the Disney Fantasy. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, it serves French-inspired, continental fare, and is inspired by Disney royalty.

Tiana’s Place (Disney Wonder) – Inspired by Princess Tiana and New Orleans, this restaurant comes to life during dinner with live jazz music and character appearances while serving Louisiana-inspired, Creole and Cajun food.

Triton’s (Disney Wonder) – Inspired by Ariel and her father King Triton, here you will dine “under the sea” enjoying classic American cooking during breakfast and lunch and continental cuisine for dinner.

Worlds of Marvel (Disney Wish) – This restaurant is truly unique and takes guests straight into “an action-packed Avengers mission that unfolds around you.” It serves a menu inspired by the MCU, including Wakanda.

2 BRAND NEW Restaurants and More Revealed for the Disney Adventure Cruise Ship

disney cruise dining

Disney Cruise Line just dropped some brand new details about one of its newest ships setting sail soon and we can’t wait to share them with you!

disney cruise dining

The Disney Adventure ship has been one we’ve had our eyes on (virtually of course) for a while. We’ve been hunting down any tiny detail and bit of news we can find which felt like it was at a standstill as of late. But, Disney’s latest announcement is bringing us multiple new details (and characters) on board that make us even more excited to see it up close!

When the Disney Adventure cruise ship finally takes to the seas it will mark so many firsts for Disney Cruise Line. Not only will this ship be based out of Singapore but it will also be welcoming two new firsts of its kind!

disney cruise dining

When the Disney Adventure finally sets sail, it will also be home to a fan favorite MARVEL character! That’s right — Deadpool will be joining several of the MARVEL Avengers for an all new show called Avengers Assemble! In this show, you’ll see MARVEL super heroes and villains take the stage performing a full special effects filled show that’s action-packed with epic stunts. Disney also went on to mention this stage area will be complete with “three-deck-high LED screens, special effects and innovative theatrical tools.”

disney cruise dining

During the show, viewers may catch a glimpse of some their favorite super heroes like Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Thor, Black Panther, The Scarlet Witch, and Ms. Marvel. Of course, in a battle between good and evil there’s always room for a few villains like the mischievous Loki, Red Skull, Taskmaster and more! Avengers Assemble! will be one of the signature shows coming to the Disney Adventure and you’ll be able to catch it performing at the Garden Stage.

This newly announced area will be found within the Disney Imagination Garden. This area is set to become the central hub of the Disney Adventure that will “transport guests into the pages of beloved Disney stories alongside their favorite characters.” Disney also revealed it’s one of seven uniquely themed areas coming to the ship that will transform your onboard experience like never before. It’s expected to be a lively open-air space where it’s on board guests will be treated to the theatrical stage we just mentioned for the upcoming show, two quick-service restaurants, a bar, and several garden-view staterooms.

The theming here is set to resemble a classic pop-up storybook, where Disney Imagination Garden’s “playful, paper cut-out styled landscapes” will be overflowing with flowers, shaped topiaries, trees and several vines giving it that cozy garden feel. When you’re here, make sure you keep an eye out for  characters while looking out for a few easter eggs from Disney, Pixar and MARVEL stories.

As we mentioned earlier this space will welcome space for several Garden View staterooms, which will be an all-new room category for Disney Cruise Line. These stateroom verandahs will overlook the ship’s garden as well as an open “lawn” area that includes a large ornately designed staircase, setting the amphitheater style seating for enjoying the live entertainment on the Garden Stage.

disney cruise dining

As you make your way up the staircase, you’re greeted by a quaint courtyard surrounded by cascading trees designed to look like storybook cut-outs. If you look real close, you might even be able to spot a Sorcerer Mickey topiary orchestrating the gardens!

disney cruise dining

That’s not all that’s new here though! Disney Cruise Line is bringing us it’s first castle at sea!

disney cruise dining

This beautiful artwork will feature a storybook castle that draws inspiration from both real and imaginary castles near and far. Taking a closer look you might even be able to spot a few nods to the Walt Disney Pictures castle, Sleeping Beauty’s castle at Disneyland Paris and Rapunzel’s castle, as well as influences from sketches done by incredible Disney artists. The Disney Imagination Garden castle will be three decks tall and will sit above a decorative waterfall so be sure to check it out when you board!

The gardens will also be home to two new quick service restaurants inspired by classic Disney animated films, Moana and The Jungle Book. Both restaurants will have option for either indoor or outdoor seating however, those looking to dine out on the patio will also get a view of the Garden Stage and may be able to take in a bit of the entertainment if you’re timing your meal just right.

disney cruise dining

Mowgli’s Eatery, The Jungle Book inspired restaurant, will serve up an Indian cuisine, vegetarian and regional dishes “with a special Disney twist”, and will be a casual restaurant detailing Mowgli’s hero journey throughout the film.

disney cruise dining

While Gramma Tala’s Kitchen is set to be inspired by the vibrant and serene island vibe featured throughout Moana. This restaurant will feature more of an “imaginative menu” which looks to highlight dishes with a Pacific Island and Asian flair.

disney cruise dining

All these latest updates have us glued to our screens in anticipation of Disney’s next announcement about the Disney Adventure and what else will await us on board!

If you’re like us and eager to find out the latest updates from Disney Cruise Line, stay tuned for even more!

Disney fan goes viral for meltdown over space mountain closure.

Posted by: Eva Miller August 22, 2024

Close-up photo of a hand holding two Disneyland tickets. The one on top features a Stormtrooper from Star Wars, and the one below shows Disney characters Pluto and Donald Duck with amusement park attractions in the background—perfect for your next Disneyland Reservation.

A video of an adult Disney fan reacting dramatically to the temporary closure of Space Mountain has taken TikTok by storm, garnering millions of views and sparking a lively debate about its authenticity.

The clip, which shows the fan having an emotional outburst upon learning of the ride’s downtime, has divided viewers between those who see it as a genuine display of frustration and those who believe it is a satirical performance.

‘Disney Adult’ Caught Crying Over Disney Closure

Space Mountain, one of the iconic attractions at Disneyland Park, was closed on August 5 for essential refurbishments . These refurbishments are crucial for ensuring the ongoing safety and optimal performance of this beloved roller coaster ride. Visitors and fans of Space Mountain alike can look forward to experiencing an enhanced and improved ride once it reopens its doors on September 6.

During this temporary closure, Disney enthusiasts can explore the many other enchanting attractions that Disneyland Resort has to offer, creating lasting memories in the magical realm of Disney. While this change is accepted by many, not all fans are having such a calm response.

In the now-viral video, the fan is seen crying in a car, visibly upset, and animatedly expressing his disappointment. His over-the-top reaction, complete with exaggerated gestures and vocal distress, quickly caught the attention of TikTok users .

The fan, who is listening to the Space Mountain soundtrack, appears to be on the verge of tears, dramatically lamenting the temporary closure of one of Disney’s most popular attractions.

Fans Relate to Hysterial Viral Clip

Due to the fact that the video was posted by a group of online TikTok comedians, many viewers have speculated that the fan’s meltdown is a satirical take on the intense emotions that Disney fans sometimes display, especially when faced with ride closures or other park disruptions.

Whether or not the video is intended as a humorous exaggeration of the passion that Disney enthusiasts have for their favorite attractions is yet to be determined.

However, some view the video as a genuine outburst of frustration, reflecting the real emotions that can arise when a cherished attraction is unexpectedly closed. Commenters relate, saying:

“This was actually me as a kid when we were on our way there and I found out splash mountain was closed.” “me when i renewed my magic key in Feb then hearing Haunted Mansion was going to be closed majority of the year.”

Disneyland Resort has not officially commented on the video, but it is clear that ride closures are a routine part of park maintenance. Space Mountain, like all major attractions, undergoes periodic maintenance to ensure safety and performance.

As the video continues to spread across social media, it serves as both a reflection of the deep affection many have for Disney and a testament to the power of internet culture to turn everyday moments into viral phenomena.  What do you think about this viral clip?

disney cruise dining

Disney Wish docked at Castaway Cay

If you’re like us, you’re already wondering about the FOOD available on your cruise . You’re in luck, because we’ve got a full look at the Disney Wish menus for you today!

The Disney Wish first set sail on February 11th, 2022. Disney Cruise Line’s first mega-ship continued some of the traditional Disney Cruise Line dining, but also introduced new concepts. One thing you should know about DCL ships before we dive into menus — Disney introduced the concept of “rotational dining” on cruises.

That means instead of one main dining room, Disney Cruise ships have three different, heavily-themed restaurants, and you rotate through dining at each one on different nights during your cruise. Your servers even move from restaurant to restaurant with you!

The Disney Wish has three all-new restaurants for rotational dining: Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure , Worlds of Marvel , and 1923. Now, let’s dive into those Disney Wish Cruise Ship Menus!

Marceline Market  is one of the casual dining options on the Wish and is inspired by the town where Walt Disney grew up. This food hall allows guests to  enjoy walk-up dining at any (or all!) of the 10 unique food stalls. Each stall is themed to a Disney animated story  —  Alice in Wonderland  and  Zootopia  being just two examples — and offers a wide variety of freshly prepared cuisines. Guests can choose from American classics, international specialties, comfort foods, seafood, soups and salads, vegetarian and plant-based eats, baked goods, and desserts, all served buffet-style.

Disney wish rotational dining.

1923  is a family-friendly restaurant  inspired by animation , and its name comes from the year the Walt Disney Company was founded. The restaurant is a celebration of the Walt Disney Company, animation, and its Californian heritage. There are  two dining rooms , including the  Walt Disney room  and the  Roy Disney room , which reflect classic Hollywood glamour AND Disney whimsy.

disney cruise dining

The food at 1923 features  California flavors , with  “sophisticated dishes”  designed specifically for families. You’ll find a  blend of European, Asian, and South American cuisines , as well as fresh, local ingredients and Napa Valley wines!

Appetizers include dishes such as  Porcini Spiced Ahi Tuna  and  Fennel, Bartlett Pear, and Tatsoi Salad , as well as  Burrata Mozzarella Cheese & Prosciutto di Parma , and  Kingswell Duck Confit Pastilla. Soup offerings are a Pulled Guinea Hen Corn Chowder and Roasted Roma Tomato Soup, along with a bread service of Fig and Olive Bread.

Four Cheese Tricolor Torteloni Appetizer

Entrees include Tortiglioni Pasta, Italian Flat Parsley and Rosemary-Crusted Rack of Lamb, and a Seared Verlasso Salmon Filet. For dessert, you can try the Churros Calientes, a Burbank Blueberry-Lemon Bavarian Cream, or a Flourless Orange Almond Cake.

Here’s our review of 1923!

Arendelle: a frozen dining adventure.

At  Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure , you get to dine while celebrating the engagement of Anna and Kristoff (right after the events in  Frozen 2 ). The restaurant is designed to look like a  theater-in-the-round , with a center stage and dining tables placed around the stage.

disney cruise dining

Anna and Kristoff make their way around the tables, sporting some special party looks, and there is entertainment throughout the meal! The menu at this spot features  Nordic-influenced cuisine  and  combinations of traditional Nordic flavors  along with more  modern dishes .

There’s a variety of appetizers including one with a sampling of fish, scallops, a ham tart, and more . You’ll also find salads and soups . There are a number of entrees to pick from, including the pork tenderloin, sea bass, and more . Queen Anna would not allow dessert to be skipped (of course!), so there are a few different sweet treats to try, including a chocolate bar !

Worlds of marvel.

At Worlds of Marvel, you’ll experience something called  “Avengers: Quantum Encounter.” The story behind Quantum Encounter is that Ant-Man and The Wasp are going on their first speaking engagement for the Avengers and are hosting a presentation of some super powerful Super Hero technology. Blue lights and chrome are everywhere the eye can see, and i t does feel like you’re in a super high-tech restaurant!

disney cruise dining

Worlds of Marvel on the Disney Wish Cruise ship

The menu at Worlds of Marvel is inspired by some of the cuisines from your favorite super hero films. There are dishes that take inspiration from “African Wakanda, Eastern European Sokovia” and even New York.

For the appetizers, you’ll find salmon, bao buns, and more — many of these have a seafood component to them. There are also salads and soups if you’d prefer to head in that direction! For the entrees, there are a few options, including a Berbere Spiced Pork Chop, Chicken Schnitzel, and pasta . Last but not least — dessert! There’s a  Subatomic Sticky Date Pudding, Key Lime Pie, and more .

Specialty dining, palo steakhouse.

Palo Steakhouse is an adults-only steakhouse inspired by Cogsworth the clock from Beauty and Beast . The restaurant uses a palette of  woods ,  shining metals , and  clock-like details to immerse you in an environment that reminds you of an ornate clock. One important thing to know about Palo is that it is a premium restaurant — there will be an upcharge to dine here.

disney cruise dining

The menu includes both Italian fare  and  modern steakhouse dining. Guests dining at Palo can choose from either a  pre fixe  menu or  a la carte . The pre-fixe menu is  $45 per guest , and includes 4 courses —  antipasta  (appetizer),  insalata  (salad),  il secondo  (entrée), and  dolce (dessert). The prix fixe menu allows you to choose from options like  calamari, pan-seared salmon, beef tenderloin, and tiramisu . The a la carte menu has a wider selection available, like  soft potato gnocchi, wagyu beef, various pizzas, veal, and more.

disney cruise dining

The  dessert menu also has quite a selection to choose from, like souffles, cakes, and a variety of gelatos.

Here’s our review of Palo Steakhouse!

Enchanté is an adult-exclusive restaurant  onboard the Disney Wish that is themed after  Beauty and the Beast.  It takes inspiration from Lumière, the candelabra from the movie. It is one of the Wish’s most elegant dining experiences and even features a  gourmet menu by three-Michelin-starred Chef Arnaud Lallement . The color scheme and decor of the entire space (including that lounge space) really meshes Lumière,  Beauty and the Beast , and the sea together, with golds, blues, and tans weaved throughout the seating, tables, and more.

Keep in mind that  reservations for Enchanté are required and are subject to availability.  While many dining experiences on the Disney Cruise are included in the cost of your trip, this adults-only experience is an  additional charge.

disney cruise dining

The standard dinner here is meant to be a “progressive” experience. It starts with some time at the lounge, where you are given a  glass of Champagne and a Chef’s choice amuse bouche (basically a small appetizer bite).

At Enchanté, you have 3 different menus to choose from.

First, there is something called the  “Collection” which is priced at $195 . This is a 9-course meal that is meant to combine new dishes with some signature ones. It’s sort-of a Chef’s Table menu where the team chooses what to give you. And if you want to add on the  champagne selection , it’s  $140 per person .

disney cruise dining

Grilled Beef Wagyu at Enchante on the Disney Wish

There is also a  “Passion” selection which is $125 per person . This is a 5 course meal featuring the items specifically listed there. This menu option features tomatoes, wild halibut, and more. There is also a  wine experience that can be added for $115 per person.

And finally, you can also grab some menu items  a la carte , including caviar and Maine lobster.

Here’s our review of Enchante!

Unfortunately, I did not enjoy any of the dining offerings on the Wish, and my voyage in Oct. 2022 was my 11th DCL experience. The Marceline Market was a poor substitute from Cabana’s pre-pandemic. The on deck BBQ was not great, not everyone can eat BBQ. There were no sandwiches, tuna, salads, light wraps, fruit salad or other lighter fare items to choose from. The Hot Dogs were poor, with toppings limited to ketchup and mustard. No chili, kraut, relish…very poor. Disney could have very easily made this stop “The Best Dogs on the 7 Seas”, but they didn’t. A burger is a burger a pizza or a taco just does not make it for me. As for the rotational dining experience, it was the worst ever across all of the other 4 ships. Marvel was terrible amounting to noise on a tv during dinner. The food was not interesting or unique or inspired, very disappointing vs. the Artist’s Pallet on the Fantasy. The 1921 dining was nothing more than a steak dinner almost anywhere. No show except looking at the walls. As for the Frozen dining experience, it was terrible if you had no exposure to the Frozen back story. A huge dining room with a center stage that almost no one could hear the performers speak. If you were not sitting ringside, the whole entertainment sequence was terrible. My wife and I will never travel on the Wish again as the dining and other experiences on board will cause us to either steer away from DCL towards other lines, or return to the older ships. One can only hope that the next ship of the Wish size will be better imagined.

I agree with Ken and I was not impressed with any of the restaurants or menus on WISH. I had scallops every night for lack of anything else. I did enjoy the show at Arendelle. We are sailing again but do not plan on eating at any of the restaurants and will instead use room service or Marceline Market and put it in the fridge for dinner!

Complete Guide to Disney World Stage Shows

by Jenna Saxton | Aug 23, 2024 | Animal Kingdom , Disney Springs , Disney's Hollywood Studios , EPCOT , Magic Kingdom , Walt Disney World , Walt Disney World Entertainment

disney cruise dining

A comprehensive guide to all the Disney World shows that are available at Walt Disney World Resort.

While Disney World attractions get a lot of the hype, there’s a lot more to do than hop from ride to ride during your park day! Each Disney park also features a variety of stage shows that can be just as much fun (or more fun!) than roller coasters. From Broadway-style shows, to concerts, to shows where you get to shout-sing your favorite Disney songs, we’ve got the details on ALL of Disney World’s current shows (including a few that are coming soon). Plus, we’ll even let you in on some of our expert tips to help you avoid the crowds and secure the best viewing spot!

Disney World Shows

Magic kingdom stage shows, epcot stage shows, disney’s hollywood studios stage shows, disney’s animal kingdom stage shows, disney springs stage shows, let the magic begin welcome show.

  • When: Daily just before Magic Kingdom officially opens
  • Where: Cinderella Castle Stage

“Let the Magic Begin” isn’t as widely known by Disney-goers, but if you’re at Magic Kingdom early enough, it’s a must-see! The daily opening ceremony takes place at the Cinderella Castle stage every morning about 5 minutes before the park officially opens for the day and features a welcome message from Mickey and his friends. You can expect to see some of your favorite Disney characters, including princesses, princes, and more. The show is a great way to get into the Disney spirit and start your day off on a magical note.

Expert Tips: Seeing this show is all about timing! You’ll need to have gone through security, scanned into the park, and make your way down Main Street, U.S.A. before the show starts so we recommend getting to Magic Kingdom about 20-30 minutes prior to park opening. You can enter the park up to one hour before park opening, which gives you plenty of time to find a good spot. However, if you plan on taking advantage of Early Theme Park Entry, you may want to skip this show so that you can take full advantage of shorter lines at popular attractions instead of heading back to Cinderella Castle.

Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire

  • When: Multiple times daily, Check the My Disney Experience App for showtimes

“ Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire ” premiered during the park’s 50th Anniversary celebration and has since become a popular daytime stage show that’s fun to see. During the show, new and old Disney characters gather for a musical extravaganza featuring dancing and special effects. Some of the characters you’ll see include Tiana and friends from The Princess and the Frog , Rapunzel and Flynn from Tangled , and Olaf, Anna, and Elsa from Frozen . The show runs for approximately 20 minutes.

Expert Tips: If you want to get the best view of the show, we recommend finding your spot in front of the Cinderella Castle stage about 10-20 minutes before showtime. The area can get quite crowded because of its central location in the park. And, if you’re visiting in the summer, consider planning to see the show earlier in the day to avoid the afternoon heat since there is no shade in the viewing area.

Frozen Holiday Surprise (Seasonal)

  • When: Nightly during the holidays

If you’re visiting Disney World during the holiday season, you won’t want to miss the “ Frozen Holiday Surprise ” show. This 7-minute show takes place on the Cinderella Castle stage at Magic Kingdom and features characters from Frozen as they add a festive touch to Cinderella Castle.

During the show, Olaf and his snowgie siblings add garlands and ornaments to the castle with the help of Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff. Elsa even uses her ice magic to add some extra decorations (to the tune of everyone’s favorite song – Let It Go ).

The show occurs nightly throughout the holiday season, with a second showing at 8:15PM on Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party nights.

Expert Tips: To get the best view of the Frozen Holiday Surprise, head to the hub area in front of Cinderella Castle about 10 minutes before the show. This area can get crowded, so be sure to arrive early. If you’re attending Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, try to catch the second showing of the show to avoid some of the crowds.

¡Celebración Encanto! Sing-Along

  • When: Multiple shows daily from June 10th to September 6th, 2024
  • Where: CommuniCore Plaza Stage

“¡Celebración Encanto! Sing-Along” is a limited-time stage show that you can catch several times throughout the day on the Plaza Stage in CommuniCore Plaza. The show lasts approximately 20 minutes and features music from Disney’s Encanto (and even an appearance by Mirabel and Bruno!). Currently, it’s only set to run through September 6th, 2024, so be sure to stop by and dance along while you still can!

Expert Tips: For the best viewing experience, arrive early! This is a great show to see when you need a short rest, however, only part of the viewing area is shaded. Try to secure your spot early so that you can actually get a break while you watch!

EPCOT Festival Concert Series (Seasonal)

  • When: Multiple times nightly during festivals, Check the My Disney Experience App for showtimes
  • Where: American Gardens Theater

If you are a fan of live music, then you won’t want to miss the concert series during the seasonal EPCOT Festivals! The type of music and performers vary from festival to festival but they all take place in the American Adventure Pavilion at the American Gardens Theater.

During the EPCOT Festival of the Arts, you can catch the Disney on Broadway Concert Series. It features Broadway performers singing some of the most beloved Disney songs. And, the Garden Rocks Concert Series takes place during the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival and features a variety of musical acts, including both local and global performers.

If you are visiting during the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival, be sure to check out the Eat to the Beat Concert Series. This series features a mix of classic and contemporary performers. And, finally, during the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays, you can enjoy the Candlelight Processional. While it’s not necessarily a “concert,” this beloved holiday tradition features a celebrity narrator telling the story of Christmas, accompanied by a choir and orchestra.

Expert Tips: While all of these concerts are included with your park admission, dining packages are available for an additional cost and can be a great addition to your park day if you’re worried about getting a seat at the show. These packages include a meal at one of EPCOT’s restaurants, as well as preferred seating at the concert.

Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage

  • Where: Theater of the Stars on Sunset Boulevard

“Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage” is a retelling of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast featuring live music and dancing. The approximately 25-minute show features some of your favorite characters from the movie including Belle, the Beast, Gaston, Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, and Chip as they sing iconic tunes from the movie.

Expert Tips: This is a great show to see in the afternoon when you need a break since the open-air theater is covered and shaded from the sun. The best viewing locations are in the center of the theater, about halfway back. You won’t always be able to control where you sit (follow Cast Member directions first!), but if you can secure a spot in the middle, you’ll have a great view.

Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular!

  • Where: Near Echo Lake

Get a behind-the-scenes look at how the stunts in Indiana Jones movies are done during the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! This 35-minute live show gives you an insider look into how some of the scenes from Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark were filmed. It features various stunts and live reenacted scenes from the film, with explosive special effects and pyrotechnics. You’ll see Indiana Jones himself (well, his “stunt double” at least), as well as other characters from the movie, perform incredible stunts that will leave you on the edge of your seat.

Expert Tips: If you’re traveling with young children, you may want to sit towards the back of the theater, as some of the stunts can be loud and intense.

For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration

  • Where: Hyperion Theater near Echo Lake

If your house is filled with songs from Frozen daily, then A Frozen Song-Along Celebration is a must see! During this 25-30 minute show, you’ll join the hilarious royal historians from Arendelle as they recount the story of Frozen with a chance to sing along with the movie’s songs.

Hollywood Studios Pictures

Anna and Elsa in For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration – Photo by Cliff Wang.

You’ll see characters from the movie, including Princess Anna, Queen Elsa, and Kristoff, appear on stage to sing along with the audience. And, you don’t even have to worry about memorizing the words — they’re projected on the screen making it easy to belt out your favorite (or your kids favorite) songs.

Expert Tips: The later shows tend to be less crowded so add this to your itinerary towards dinner time for the shortest wait and best seats.

Disney Junior — Live on Stage!

  • Where: Animation Courtyard Theatre

If you have preschoolers with you, then Disney Junior — Live on Stage! is the show for you. This 25-minute interactive show features catchy songs that will have your little ones singing, dancing, and playing along.

During the show, you will get to meet some of your child’s favorite Disney Junior friends, including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and their friends from “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.” You will also get to see new favorites from the Disney Junior TV shows “Doc McStuffins” and “Sofia the First.”

Expert Tips: This is a high-energy show where you are encouraged to dance along so head here when your kiddos have some extra energy that they need to burn off before nap time. It’s also air-conditioned so can be a great way to escape the heat and cool down in the afternoons.

The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure (Coming Soon)

  • When: To Be Announced
  • Where: Animation Courtyard theater

A new stage show, The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure, is coming to Hollywood Studios in 2024! The show replaces Voyage of the Little Mermaid and features new physical sets, a cast of puppets, live performers, and a brand-new reimagining of the classic tale. Plus, you’ll get to hear several songs from the movie, including “Part of Your World,” “Under the Sea,” and “Kiss the Girl.”

Expert Tips: When the show first opens, there will likely be lots of people hoping to experience the new show. Beat the crowds by arriving early or planning to see a show scheduled later in the day.

Festival of the Lion King

  • Where: Harambe Theater in Africa

The Festival of the Lion King is a 30-minute celebration of all things The Lion King. The Broadway-style production features all your favorite characters from the movie, acrobatics, and even flame twirling. It also has some interactive elements that are sure to keep you and your little ones entertained.

Festival of the Lion King at Animal Kingdom disney world shows

Festival of the Lion King, the popular, high-energy live musical at Disney’s Animal Kingdom combines music, puppetry and pageantry inspired by Disney’s animated film classic, “The Lion King.” Performed inside the Harambe Theatre, this Broadway-style show is an exciting retelling of the film and immerses the audience in theatrics and classic songs. Disney’s Animal Kingdom is located at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. (Ryan Wendler, photographer)

Expert Tips: Festival of the Lion King is very popular and the theater isn’t very large. So, if you want to be sure you get to see the show at the time you prefer, get in line about 20-30 minutes before. This is also a great show to secure a Lightning Lane reservation for if you’ve purchased Lightning Lane Multi Pass so you have guaranteed seating.

Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…And Beyond

  • Where: Theater in the Wild near DinoLand U.S.A.

The 40-minute show invites you into the great big blue as performers retell the story of Finding Nemo with live puppets and musical numbers. You’ll see fan-favorite characters such as Marlin, Dory, Crush, and Squirt brought to life and get to enjoy some catchy music (that’ll probably be stuck in your head the rest of the day), such as “In the Big Blue World” and “Go with the Flow.”

Expert Tips: The Theater in the Wild features an upper and lower seating area. Try to sit in the upper area so that you can experience all of the elements of the show. Performers use the full length of the stage and some aisles throughout the show!

Drawn to Life Presented by Cirque du Soleil

  • When: Twice daily Wednesdays to Sundays
  • Where: Cirque du Soleil Theater on West Side

While Drawn to Life isn’t a free Disney World show, it’s worth purchasing tickets and seeing at least once if you want a special addition to your trip. The show is a collaboration between Disney and Cirque du Soleil, combining classic Disney music with the jaw-dropping acrobatics and stunts that Cirque du Soleil is known for.

This show is also exclusive to Disney, so Disney Springs is the only place you can see it!

Tickets for Drawn to Life can be purchased online or at the box office. Prices vary depending on the seating section and time of day. We recommend booking your tickets in advance to ensure availability, as this show is incredibly popular.

Expert Tips: For the best viewing experience, we recommend sitting in the center section of the theater, rows D to K. These seats provide the best view of the entire stage.

So, be sure to add these Disney World shows to your must-see list for your next vacation. And, learn more about all the Disney fireworks and nighttime spectaculars here!
