How to get to the Santiago Bernabéu

The legendary Merengue stadium is located a few meters from the Paseo de la Castellana , one of the longest arteries of the city. Being located in an office district - Hispanoamérica, part of the Chamartín district - it has a transport network that guarantees quick trips both to the center and to the Barajas airport .

If your plans in Madrid include a tour of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium , you can choose from the following options to get there:

  • Metro - The "Santiago Bernabéu" stop (line 10) is located a short distance from the stadium. If you are staying near Puerta del Sol, you can take line 1 towards Pinar de Chamartín, get off at Tribunal and take line 10. The journey takes about half an hour. If you arrive directly from the airport, you have two alternatives: if you land at T4, you can take the Cercanías (C1 or C10) to Chamartín and, once there, take line 10 to the "Santiago Bernabéu" stop. On the other hand, if you land in terminals 1, 2 and 3, you can reach the stadium by metro line 8.
  • Bus - Lines 14, 27, 40, 43, 43, 120, 126, 147 and 150 connect various points in the capital with the "Los Blancos" stadium.
  • Train - Nuevos Ministerios station is a ten-minute walk from the Santiago Bernabéu.
  • Car - If you have a rental car, all you have to do is enter the address of the stadium in your navigator. Once you arrive, you will have to leave your car in a paid parking lot. However, this is not the most convenient option. In concomitance with the matches, many streets are closed to traffic.

Where to eat nearby after the tour of the Santiago Bernabéu

If after the tour you want to have a snack, you have to take into account that the Santiago Bernabéu is located in the heart of the financial district . The neighborhood hosts the headquarters of important companies, shopping malls, residential areas and one of the most important interchanges of the city: Nuevos Ministerios. Therefore, there is no shortage of dining options .

Read on and discover our selection of bars and restaurants within walking distance of the Merengue stadium.

  • Cervecería José Luis , the classic of classics. Madrid fans go to this bar to have a few beers before the match (Paseo de la Habana 4).
  • New York Burger , the carnivores' paradise. Its specialty is cooked with smoke at low temperature. If you do not feel like a hamburger, you can opt for a ryb eye (high loin cut) or a Black Angus rib (Paseo de la Castellana 89).
  • Materia Prima , a market restaurant a few meters from the stadium. Its specialties include Russian salad, steak tartar and seafood ceviche (Calle Doctor Fleming 7).
  • Puerta 57 , the Bernabéu's viewpoint. The main attraction is the large glass window overlooking the stadium lawn. It offers pinchos, raciones (tapas) and dishes of the day. Taylor Swift’s Madrid Show Crashed by Shadowy Figure Standing Alone in Rafters: See the Eerie Clip

Taylor Swift had an unexpected attendee at her Eras Tour concert in Madrid, Spain – and fans are running wild with theories of who it could’ve been.

In a video captured by a private TikTok user that later made the rounds on social media, an eerie, shadowy figure could be seen standing alone on top of the rafters as she performed for the crowd of 65,000 people. (It is unclear which show the figure was spotted at; Swift, 34, played two shows in Madrid on May 29 and May 30.)

While the unknown figure definitely resembles a human silhouette, it was seemingly a mystery of how they got up on the platform that hangs over the nosebleed section of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in the first place.

“Oh hell no….this is some phantom/ghost/spirit of the stadium. Or some creep that climbs stadiums apparently,” wrote one social media user, while another joked, “ Joe Alwyn hiding in the rafters.” (Alwyn, 33, and Swift dated from 2016 to 2023.)

While others made quips that the mysterious concertgoer was Swift’s other ex, Matty Healy – who is the subject of multiple tracks on Swift’s newest album, The Tortured Poets Department – others had a more logical explanation for the sighting.

“Basically the Santiago Bernabeu has a ‘skywalk,’ a path around the stadium – look it up. It’s not ready yet for use,” they wrote alongside accompanying photos.

In a video posted to the official Real Madrid YouTube channel last year, its nearly 14 million subscribers got a glimpse of the skywalk being renovated. (The stadium is the home of the professional soccer club.)

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Pop Base (@popbase)

“Enjoy the final episode of our Santiago Bernabéu renovation works series, in which we focus on the sensational skywalk which is being installed at our stadium,” the caption read. “We found out how the sensational 360º viewpoint, the skywalk, is being built on level 10 of the Santiago Bernabéu. The skywalk, which is as long as two athletics tracks, will provide spectacular views for visitors to the Bernabéu.”

Though it makes sense that the skywalk was where the mystery Swiftie took in the pop star’s performance, fans are still baffled about who it was – and what it could mean.

“Knowing Taylor Swift, she’s probably behind this and she’s teasing something,” wrote one X user, referencing Swift’s love of dropping Easter egg clues about future projects for her fans. Another replied, “Literally she’s gonna be like, ‘My new single, A Man’s Silhouette, now available.'”

Every Time Taylor Swift Has Asked Security to Help Fans During Eras Tour

Related: Every Time Taylor Swift Paused the ‘Eras Tour’ to Help Fans in the Crowd

The 14-time Grammy Award winning artist kicked off her European leg of her Eras Tour in Paris on May 9 after a two-month hiatus, with boyfriend Travis Kelce joining her for multiple dates.

“He wants to support her as much as he can while he can, so he’s going to [go] back and forth from the U.S. to Europe while he has the time,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly last month, adding that the couple have had a “wonderful time in Europe so far.”

The insider added that “for now, [Travis] can arrange his schedule to be with [Taylor]” ahead of the 2024-2025 NFL season, which he and his team, the Kansas City Chiefs, will kick off with a September 5 game against the Baltimore Ravens at their home field, Arrowhead Stadium.

WGS 84 coordinate reference system is the latest revision of the World Geodetic System, which is used in mapping and navigation, including GPS satellite navigation system (the Global Positioning System).

Geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) define a position on the Earth’s surface. Coordinates are angular units. The canonical form of latitude and longitude representation uses degrees (°), minutes (′), and seconds (″). GPS systems widely use coordinates in degrees and decimal minutes, or in decimal degrees.

Latitude varies from −90° to 90°. The latitude of the Equator is 0°; the latitude of the South Pole is −90°; the latitude of the North Pole is 90°. Positive latitude values correspond to the geographic locations north of the Equator (abbrev. N). Negative latitude values correspond to the geographic locations south of the Equator (abbrev. S).

Longitude is counted from the prime meridian ( IERS Reference Meridian for WGS 84) and varies from −180° to 180°. Positive longitude values correspond to the geographic locations east of the prime meridian (abbrev. E). Negative longitude values correspond to the geographic locations west of the prime meridian (abbrev. W).

UTM or Universal Transverse Mercator coordinate system divides the Earth’s surface into 60 longitudinal zones. The coordinates of a location within each zone are defined as a planar coordinate pair related to the intersection of the equator and the zone’s central meridian, and measured in meters.

Elevation above sea level is a measure of a geographic location’s height. We are using the global digital elevation model GTOPO30 .

Duki's concert at the Santiago Bernabéu was a huge hit

Duki put on a spectacular concert at the Santiago Bernabéu. The Argentinian singer, who is the first urban artist to perform in a football stadium in Spain, thrilled his unconditional fans, who filled our stadium to enjoy one of the most anticipated events of the year. During the show, they sang and danced to the hits that have made Duki one of the great references of the trap genre all over the world. At 27 years old, Duki is one of the most important Latin figures on an international level. In fact, in 2021 and 2022 he became the most listened to Argentinian artist in the world. He is credited with having popularised trap at the national level, being the precursor of the explosion of the genre in Argentina and South America. In 2019, Duki released  Súper Sangre Joven , his first studio album. Two years later came  Desde el Fin del Mundo , which reached number one on digital albums in Argentina. And in 2023, he triumphed again with his project  Antes De Ameri . Before his successful concert at the Santiago Bernabéu, the artist had already managed to fill some of the world's biggest venues in New York, Miami, Chicago, Buenos Aires and Los Angeles.
