Best Electro Traveler build in Genshin Impact

Image of Aidan O'Brien

Genshin Impact 2.0 has introduced a new Traveler type that people can play, the Electro Traveler. Players can now attune to Electro at the Statues of the Seven in Inazuma, taking on the awesome power of Electro elemental attacks.

If you want to really get the most from the Electro Traveler, you will also need to make sure you have good weapons and artifacts that complement their abilities and strengths.

The 5 Star Skyward Blade is available from Wishes and will give you a solid Crit boost. You can also take advantage of the Skypiercing Might intrinsic upon using an Elemental Burst. “Increases Movement SPD by 10%, increases ATK SPD by 10%, and increases the DMG of Normal and Charged Attack hits by 20% for 12s.”

The Black Sword is also a suitable weapon and is available from the Battle Pass. It will increase normal and charged attack damage by 20%, and also give you some lifesteal on crits.

The Thundering Fury will amplify your Electro damage, especially at four pieces. The Thundering Fury set can be farmed from the Midsummer Courtyard Domain near the Starsnatch Cliff in Mondstadt.

  • 2 Pieces – Electro DMG Bonus +15%
  • 4 Pieces – Increases damage caused by Overloaded, Electro-Charged, and Superconduct by 40%. Triggering such effects decreases Elemental Skill CD by 1s. Can only occur once every 0.8s.

Genshin Impact: The Best Build for Electro Traveler

If you're looking to optimize your Electro Traveler build in Genshin Impact with the best weapons and artifacts, then this guide is for you!

Genshin Impact: The Best Build for Electro Traveler

The main character in Genshin Impact is the Traveler, with the story focusing on their hunt for their twin sibling after being stranded in the world of Teyvat by a mysterious god-like character.

They can be of three different elements -- either Anemo (the starting affinity), Geo , or Electro . All builds use the Sword.

Players can switch between affinities at a relevant Statue of the Seven. Anemo Statues are found in Mondstadt, Geo Statues in Liyue, and Electro Statues in Inazuma.

This build focuses on the Electro Traveler , and is more ideally focused towards a support role.

The best weapons for Electro Traveler in Genshin Impact

There are two ways you can equip Electro Traveler. The first provides a regular boost to DMG and buffing afterwards with the Skyward Blade , or aiming for more Elemental Skill DMG with Festering Desire .

Either way, the build is more about generating Energy for yourself and your team.

traveller electro build

Undying Admiration

Increases Elemental Skill DMG by 16/20/24/28/32% and Elemental Skill CRIT Rate by 6.0/7.5/9.0/10.5/12%.

The best Artifacts for Electro Traveler in Genshin Impact

The Emblem of Severed Fate  set is great for ramping up Energy Recharge, and is the ideal set for the build we're aiming for. Elemental Burst DMG will also be improved through maximising Recharge.

Alternatively, you can opt for Noblesse Oblige for a boost to Elemental Burst DMG, or Thundering Fury for the Electro-focused DMG buff.

(2) Energy Recharge +20%

(4) Increases Elemental Burst DMG by 25% of Energy Recharge. A maximum of 75% bonus DMG can be obtained in this way.

(4) Increases damage caused by Overloaded, Electro-Charged and Superconduct by 40%. Triggering such effects decreases Elemental Skill CD by 1s. Can only occur once every 0.8s.

Talent and Constellation priority for Electro Traveler in Genshin Impact

Given the build works best around the generation of Abundance Amulets to restore Energy, you'll want to focus on improving the  Lightning Blade  Elemental Skill first.

Then, max out Traveler's Elemental Burst,  Bellowing Thunder .

In terms of Constellations,  Spring Thunder Of Fertility (C1)  and  Fickle Cloudstrike  (C4)  are key in increasing Energy Recharge.

Traveler (Electro)’s abilities focus around his Elemental Skill, Lightning Blade. For the best results, use the 4-piece Noblesse Oblige artifact set, which boosts the attack of all party members when Elemental Burst is triggered. Alternatively, the 4-piece Emblem of Severed Fate set can increase Elemental Burst damage and help with Energy Recharge.

The 4-piece Instructor set increases the Elemental Mastery of all party members. Alternatively, using 2 pieces of Emblem of Severed Fate and 2 pieces of The Exile can significantly boost Elemental Burst damage and Energy regeneration. This combination might be the best option for some players, especially in situations that don’t involve boss battles.

Traveler (Electro) Weapons Desc

The best weapon for Traveler (Electro) is the Favonius Sword, which helps with Energy Recharge and CRIT Rate but needs to be upgraded to R5. Other good options include the Sacrificial Sword and Skyward Blade, which can be chosen based on the player’s needs.

Traveler (Electro) Quick TL;DR Support Build Guide!

2board

  • July 26, 2021

Table of Contents

PSA #1: A Support is that one friend who’s always cheering you on from the sidelines, no matter what. Protect that friend at all costs, cause they’re rare 😂

Psa #2: both electro mc’s abilities scale off atk. this guide is a hybrid guide to maximize electro mc’s potential to be both a support + burst dps, weapon #1 (recommended for best dps): skyward blade, weapon #2 (recommended for good dps): sacrificial sword, artifact #1 (recommended for burst dps): emblem of severed fate, artifact #2 (recommended for support): noblesse oblige.

traveller electro build

Important Tip: Amulets spawn are based off the slashes hitting, not on how many enemies it hits !

For example, if one of the blades hit 2 enemies and the other blades miss, it won’t spawn 2 Amulets — it’ll spawn 1 . Amulets will stay 15 seconds before they expire!

Since you get MC’s constellations for free, your E can spawn a total of 3 Abundance Amulets rather than 2 (thanks to C1). This means if a character picks up all 3 Amulets, they will get 9 energy.

The Energy Recharge buff E provides doesn’t stack. If you pick up 3 Amulets, that doesn’t mean the character gets +60% ER. They’ll just get +20% ER that lasts 6 seconds!

Al so, fun fact: the E only generates A SINGLE energy particle… So have fun trying to get Electro MC’s 80 COST burst 😂

traveller electro build

Keep in mind that a different character other than Electro MC has to pick up the amulets to reduce MC’s E CD. So if you spawn 3 amulets, and someone else in your party picks them up, MC’s E goes from a 13.5s CD to 9s

traveller electro build

Let’s get mathematical: Say you have a level 90 Sacrifical Sword (61.3% ER) with 4x Emblem of Severed Fate (20% ER), and we’ll ignore ER substats for now. That means in total, Electro MC would have 181.3% ER (100 base + 61.3 + 20) — 10% of that is =18.13% ER. Meaning instead of providing a bonus of 20% ER for picking up Amulets, the character would receive 38.13% ER bonus.

That’s quite a considerable amount. Add ER% substats, which are extremely easy to gain and upgrade, and you can easily hit over 200%+ ER (or 20% ER+ bonus). It makes Electro MC a fairly decent battery, especially for a free character!

traveller electro build

This is Electro MC’s defining ability. It’s essentially a mini-Oz turret that only procs when you Normal or Charged attack a marked target

traveller electro build

Just to make sure: Falling Thunder only procs off Normal and Charged attacks! So if you’re playing someone like Diluc, don’t just spam E thinking you’ll get Overloaded proc’s 24/7. Falling thunder also procs ever .5s, meaning it can proc a total of 6 times!

It also provides a small amount of energy — 0.9 energy to be precise — and only provides it to the character who triggered Falling Thunder.

Talent Leveling Order: Q > E > Normal

How do I get it D: ? – It’s time to roll boys (gacha)

traveller electro build

You can ignore the move SPD, ATK SPD, and NA + CA bonuses for Electro MC, since you won’t be using them to attack at all other than pressing E and Q. Skyward Blade really only have favor + performance for Electro MC is from the massive ER% it provides

Otherwise, the other 5-star weapons do provide SIGNIFICANTLY higher damage output, with stat sticks like Jade-Cutter or Mistsplitter vastly outperforming. If you want to try and turn Electro MC into a psuedo-main DPS, feel free to use those weapons. Otherwise for supporting, Skyward Blade has the favor

traveller electro build

Sacrificial Sword is better for supporting than Favonius purely due to the fact it lets you quickswap Electro MC as an ER battery. You most likely won’t have too much CRIT% for Favonius to really work well for Electro MC (due to your stat prioritization), whereas Sac Sword just needs the E to hit (which isn’t hard).

It lets you E twice basically, and potentially 3 times if you want to min-max. Essentially you E (and get E refunded from Sac Sword), swap to another character to pick up Amulets, swap back to Electro MC and E again, etc… This not only maximizes amulet generation and ER provisions for your team, but also makes Electro MC’s E CD much more tolerable

If you somehow don’t have Sac Sword, Favonius works just fine too . They both provide the same amount of ER% when leveled, and Favonius can provide a bit more energy for Electro MC’s outrageous 80 cost. Festering Desire is good, but not really viable as E’s DMG is extremely low and Favonius/Sac Sword performs much better. Only use Festering if other characters are already using the other swords!

Honorable mention: Lion’s Roar . You’re basically going to have the buff up 100% of the time once Q is up, which is the important part. It’s a good 4-star stat stick, and provides a good DMG buff. Pairs extremely well for Electro MC if you’re running a mono Electro comp as well!

How do I get it D: ? – Momiji-Dyed Court Domain (AR 30 Locked, 20 Resin per run)

traveller electro build

Let me just quickly explain how good the 4x bonus is for characters who stack ER%. Using the previous scenario above, let’s say you have a level 90 Sac Sword + 2x bonus from Emblem. That means in total, Electro MC would have 181.3% ER (100 base + 61.3 + 20) , and you take 25% of that which equals a 45.32% DMG buff to your Q . Even more considering ER% substats! This bonus applies to Falling Thunder’s DMG as well…

To get the full 75% DMG bonus, you would need a ridiculous 300% ER. You would need to take ER% Sands (51.8% ER) + have god tier ER% substats to get even remotely close — this also answers this question: take ATK% Sands, not ER% Sands!

For those asking “why not 2x TF + 2x Noblesse?” — it’s because this actually takes less farming and provides more damage overall . Everyone most likely has a Sac Sword/Favonius, and can easily get 2x Emblem bonus. That alone provides a 45% DMG bonus to Q compared to 2x TF + 2x Noblesse which is only 35% DMG.

How do I get it D: ? – Clear Pool and Mountain Cavern Domain (AR 35 Locked, 20 Resin per run)

traveller electro build

Even for supporting, 4x Emblem will most likely do a lot better. Noblesse is just a side option in case people don’t want to bother farming for a whole new artifact set!

For early artifacts, feel free to run 2x Exile + 2x +18% ATK or 2x Thundering Fury (if you have it)!

Main stats:

Substats: CRIT% > CRIT DMG > ATK (ATK% if not main stat) > EM/ER

If you want other characters let me know. Hope this helped. Bye.

Hey 2board, thanks for this! I’ve been waiting for this since 2.0 dropped lol.

Just wanted to ask: 1) is the new craftable inazuma sword any good for electro traveler? You mentioned that E only creates 1 particle and Q has a hefty cost, would this weapon help with the recharge especially when we’re generally going to have other characters absorb traveler’s E amulets for the cd reduction? I gather sac/fav would probably be better because of ER substat but so many characters want those lol.

2) how does traveler stack up as a battery against Fischl (low/high constellation)? Traveler looks really good as a battery for non-electro energy-hungry main carries, but would Fischl edge out for electro carries? I guess a high constellation Fischl would probably edge out in damage regardless.

Ah, I keep forgetting to mention the new sword LOL. It’s pretty bad. Basically you still need to Q to get the weapon effect to take place, and it has ATK% as it’s stat, so it’s basically going to take you even longer to get your Q. I would heavily side towards Sac/Fav sword!

Fischl is still a much better battery in my option. Traveler’s E amulets do provide a decent amount of energy, and especially accentuated when the character who picks them up can also provide energy for themselves (due to ER% buff), but Fischl takes less resources, is much easier to play, and does a lot more damage!

Thanks for sharing!

Yeah everyone loves the sac/fav, and i only have one of the two :/ so it’s between the craftable sword or lion’s roar for me, and maybe using an ER sands.

Same with Fischl, she’s so popular both my abyss teams want her LOL. I do have a half-invested Traveler when i was a young AR40 using whatever units i had so resource-wise, raising Traveler isn’t that bad. So it’s more a question of where do i assign both of them to battery more effectively, and probably Fischl will go with the more energy-hungry team.

It really varies, but you can put Fischl on the team that needs the DPS assist more. Electro Traveler’s Q does decent damage, but the main gimmick is the amulets so they would just be a 2nd thought in terms of damage.

Valve is letting deadlock players decide to ban cheaters or turn them into frogs, ea sports fc 25: best starter team strikers, quick links, battery for high-cost burst characters, electro battery team, aggravate team.

Electro Traveler is one of Genshin Impact's best battery characters, able to provide constant and consistent energy recharge for the whole team. But in which team exactly does the Electro Traveler fit the best? Electro MC isn't a specific elemental battery, rather her abilities let them generate flat energy instead of elemental particles.

Related: Genshin Impact: Best Build For Electro Traveler

This is because their Constellations, Talents and passive effects are all about generating energy through their Elemental Skill and Burst. This means they have the potential to be battery support to any main DPS who needs a lot of energy or be the missing link in any team comp where you don't have a character with a matching element to put in.

The Electro Traveler is one of the best battery-support characters in the game. They have incredible energy recharge capabilities for your whole team, so this type of composition takes full advantage of this by using them in a party with high-cost Elemental Burst characters.

  • Main DPS: Eula, Razor, Keqing, Xiao, Noelle.
  • Battery: Electro Traveler.
  • Support: Fischl.
  • Support: This last spot can be filled with an Anemo character to help crowd control, a shielder like Zhongli, or another character with a high energy cost for their Burst like Noelle.

Because this team uses Fischl and the Electro Traveler, you'll get Electro Resonance for your party here. Fischl is already an incredible battery specifically for Electro characters; the Electro Traveler is the cherry on top that will ensure you never want for energy and spam even the highest cost Bursts to your heart's content.

Characters such as Eula and Xiao require a lot of energy to use their burst. Running them as your main DPS in this team with the Electro Traveler will ensure they're able to keep up the damage; Electro Traveler fits with Eula if you don't have enough Cryo characters to plug into her, but either way, this team takes full advantage of the MC being a general battery.

In this team composition, you can get the best of both worlds with the Electro MC's battery capabilities and impressive Electro application. Using a Hydro main DPS such as Childe (Tartaglia) will let you zap enemies into next week when used with the Traveler's Elemental Burst.

  • Main DPS: Childe, Ayato, Mona.
  • Support: Fischl, Beido.
  • Support: Diona, Barbara, Kokomi, Diona, Layla.

Childe's Riptide effect synergises well with the MC's Burst since it will deal continuous off-field Electro damage multiple times, letting you run wild and keep enemies in a loop of Hyrdo and Electro damage. Support characters such as Kazuha, Diona, Layla, or Fischl allows you to have more elemental application and, if using Diona, Layla, or Barbara, will give you shields and healing when needed.

The MC is a free-to-play character with free Constellations, meaning you can have a Constellation Six character just by playing the game.

Notably, Constellations one and four are incredible for energy recharge, increasing the number of Abundance Amulets and the amount of energy they regenerate.

For teams that you want to use an Electro character as your main DPS, this is the one for you. While the Electro Traveler isn't specifically an Electro battery since they are technically an all-purpose battery, the MC still synergises well with Electro characters.

  • Main DPS: Beidou, Keqing, Razor, Cyno.
  • Electro Sub-DPS or Support: Fischl, Kujou Sara.
  • Support: An Anemo unit would work well here to keep enemies grouped, but this slot can be flexible for a healer or whatever you decide.

Throwing Fischl into this group might be a bit of overkill, and if you find that to be the case, then you'd be better suited using Sara since she is essentially Bennett for Electro characters. With that in mind, Fischl's spot in this team ensures that Beidou or your Electro DPS never suffer from energy recharge issues, even if they have the base 100 percent ER. Keqing, on the other hand, doesn't need a lot of energy to get her Burst so you can opt for more damage using Sara.

Of course, the Dendro element can trigger the Aggravate reaction which has generally been a considerable buff to your Electro characters since it was introduced with Sumeru. Rocking an Aggravate reaction team with the Electro Traveler as either the main DPS or the support battery will work out well, so you can play around with this comp.

  • Main DPS: Electro Traveler, Keqing, Cyno, Razor.
  • Sub DPS: Collei, Tighnari, Nahida,
  • Sub DPS: Fischl, Beidou, or any Dendro character.
  • Support: Electro Traveler (if not the main DPS), Kuki Shinobu, Raiden Shogun, Dori.

While it's not advisable to build the Electro Traveler away from being a battery support, you can invest in making them the main DPS if you want to switch things up. Generally speaking, if you use the Traveler in an Aggravate comp, you should use them as Dendro instead, but this will be a way to increase their damage in this comp. Having two Dendro and two Electo characters will give you both Elemental Resonance and ensures that you only create Aggravate reactions here.

SUPPORT Build 👍

Traveler can provide a lot of energy and Energy Recharge to the on-field character through their Elemental Skill pick up or Elemental Burst procs. This is especially useful with a damage dealer that doesn't conflict with Traveler's element and can benefit from the abundance of energy. Due to the low damage scaling on Electro Traveler's Elemental Skill and Burst, its recommended to build Electro Traveler by just stacking Energy Recharge to amplify the batterying power. Main stats aren't as important. Stack Energy Recharge for comfortable Elemental Burst uptime instead.

ABILITY TIP

It is not recommended to level Elemental Skill and Burst past talent level 7 as the amount of energy generated does not increase.

Nightsoul mechanics overview.

Genshin Impact Version 5.0 introduces unique mechanics involving Nightsoul, which is intrinsic to characters hailing from Natlan. Various Nightsoul mechanics not only help Natlan characters traverse terrain more nimbly but also enhance their combat prowess. Certain equipment and enemies are also affected by the presence of Nightsoul mechanics.

Players are guaranteed Kachina as a Natlan character just by progressing through the 5.0 Archon Quest Chapter V: Act I, “Flowers Resplendent on the Sun-Scorched Sojourn.”

Nightsoul’s Blessing

A state that Natlan characters can enter by using their Elemental Skill in most cases. Nightsoul’s Blessing can be used in or out of combat, and it consumes special types of Stamina called Nightsoul points and Phlogiston (discussed below) to enhance the character’s damage and exploration capability; Phlogiston is only available in the overworld. Nightsoul’s Blessing and Nightsoul points are closely tied to Natlan characters’ combat power. For example, Kachina enters her Nightsoul’s Blessing state and uses Turbo Twirly to attack or to move swiftly across the terrain, consuming Nightsoul points over time; when the points run out, her Nightsoul’s Blessing state ends and Turbo Twirly disappears.

traveller electro build

Nightsoul’s Blessing can also be used to activate artifact set effects like those of Obsidian Codex and Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City.

Nightsoul-Aligned Damage

Certain attacks from Natlan characters have a special Nightsoul property. Nightsoul-aligned damage does not have any special effects in general; the only current exception is that they deal increased damage (by a 60% DMG Bonus) against the Wayob Manifestations in their Moment of Trial state. As of the time of writing, these are the only attacks in the game that have a Nightsoul alignment:

  • Kachina’s Turbo Twirly (Elemental Skill)
  • Mualani’s Sharky’s Bites (Elemental Skill)
  • Mualani’s Super Shark Missile (Elemental Burst)
  • Kinich’s Loop Shots (Elemental Skill)
  • Kinich’s Scalespiker Cannon (Elemental Skill)
  • Kinich’s Elemental Burst initial hit and Dragon Breath (Elemental Burst)

Nightsoul Burst

When your team has at least one Natlan character, teammates (including non-Natlan characters) can trigger Nightsoul Bursts by dealing Elemental damage to enemies. The more Natlan characters you have in the team, the more often Nightsoul Bursts can be triggered:

Number of Natlan Characters

Nightsould Burst Cooldown

Nightsoul Bursts don’t deal any damage or apply an Element themselves. However, they are used to activate certain Natlan artifact set effects and character Talent effects; for example, Nightsoul Bursts increase Mualani’s Burst damage via her A4 Passive.

traveller electro build

Nightsoul Transmission

In areas with Phlogiston mechanics (i.e., the Natlan region), when you switch to a Natlan character while in a certain movement mode (such as sprinting, climbing, or swimming), the character immediately enters the Nightsoul’s Blessing state and gains a set amount of Nightsoul points. This can only be activated every 10s and the cooldown is shared between teammates. Nightsoul Transmission allows for more uptime in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state, greatly enhancing Natlan characters’ fighting and exploration proficiency in the overworld.

Kachina’s icon glows when Traveler is sprinting, indicating that Nightsoul Transmission is available.

Phlogiston, another exploration mechanic exclusive to the Natlan overworld, is not a part of the Nightsoul system but is still interconnected to it. Phlogiston appears as a special Stamina bar on your characters that can be used for numerous overworld mechanics, including powering your Saurians’ special abilities. Interacting with certain objects can give you Phlogiston points (for example, staying close to a teleport waypoint or Statue of the Seven).

traveller electro build

The Phlogiston meter above your character’s HP bar.

One special aspect of Phlogiston is that characters can use it as a “fuel” to maintain their Nightsoul’s Blessing state after they have exhausted all their Nightsoul points. This means that as long as the Phlogiston points do not run out, a Natlan character can be in their Nightsoul’s Blessing state forever!

New Artifact Sets Overview

The new artifact sets are found in the Domain of Blessing called Sanctum of Rainbow Spirits, located near the “People of the Springs” tribe in Natlan.

traveller electro build

Natlan’s two new artifact sets are most impactful to characters from Natlan, or characters played in teams with a Natlan teammate.

DISCLAIMER: The following suggestions are based on early analysis. Please wait for further calculations and testing before investing a significant amount of Resin into farming these artifacts.

Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City

traveller electro build

2-Piece Set Bonus: When a nearby party member triggers a Nightsoul Burst, the equipping character regenerates 6 Elemental Energy. 4-Piece Set Bonus : After the equipping character triggers a reaction related to their Elemental Type, all nearby party members gain a 12% Elemental DMG Bonus for the Elemental Types involved in the elemental reaction for 15s. If the equipping character is in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state when triggering this effect, all nearby party members gain an additional 28% Elemental DMG Bonus for the Elemental Types involved in the elemental reaction for 20s. The equipping character can trigger this effect while off-field, and the DMG bonus from Artifact Sets with the same name do not stack.

The Scroll artifact set’s 2pc effect can be utilized in 2pc mixed sets for characters whose primary purpose is casting their Bursts off cooldown. However, the condition to trigger the effect limits teambuilding, since triggering Nightsoul Burst requires at least one Natlan character in the team. Additionally, there are often more useful support artifact sets to use on these Burst-centric characters.

The 4pc effect is much more notable, as it potentially grants a massive teamwide buff of up to 40% Elemental DMG Bonus (12% + 28%). However, only Natlan characters in their Nightsoul’s Blessing state can trigger the part of the 4pc effect that further increases the Elemental DMG Bonus by 28%, limiting the effectiveness of this set on non-Natlan holders. 4pc Scroll should generally be equipped by support characters to buff the team’s damage dealers to a greater extent.

Notes on Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City’s 4-Piece Set Bonus

  • Multiple reactions triggered by the same user results in a DMG Bonus buff to all Elements involved.
  • Off-field units can still trigger the effect.
  • The 12% DMG Bonus and 28% DMG Bonus are counted individually. They can be triggered separately and have independent uptime.
  • Each Element can only receive 1 instance of 12% DMG Bonus and 1 instance of 28% DMG Bonus.
  • Reactions not related to the holder’s Element do not trigger the 4pc effect. For example, if an Anemo character with 4pc Scroll triggers a Pyro Swirl reaction that leads to a Vaporize reaction on the adjacent enemy, that Anemo character will only give Anemo and Pyro DMG Bonus to the team and not Hydro DMG Bonus.
  • The duration of the buff can be refreshed, both on-field and off-field.
  • Reactions on most non-enemy entities cannot trigger the 4pc effect. This includes but is not limited to environments (bodies of water, grass, etc.), certain objects (Regisvine Cores, Electro Crystals, etc.), Elemental Infusion, and reactions on characters.
  • Shatter does not trigger the effect.
  • Hyperbloom and Burgeon give Dendro and Electro / Pyro DMG Bonus, respectively.
  • Quicken and Aggravate give Dendro and Electro DMG Bonus, while Spread only gives Dendro DMG Bonus.
  • It is inconsistent to trigger the set effect with Burning , as reapplying Dendro or Pyro on a Burning enemy does not guarantee a “reaction.”

Which Characters Can Use Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City?

At the time of writing, Kachina is the only support character who can trigger the full effect of the set. However, other non-Natlan support characters can still find the set useful for their teams in many scenarios. Nonetheless, the set remains promising and will likely have its value increased with the introduction of more Natlan units.

Obsidian Codex

traveller electro build

2-Piece Set Bonus: While the equipping character is in Nightsoul’s Blessing and is on the field, their DMG dealt is increased by 15%. 4-Piece Set Bonus : After the equipping character consumes 1 Nightsoul point while on the field, CRIT Rate increases by 40% for 6s. This effect can trigger once every second.

The 2pc effect of Obsidian Codex provides a straightforward 15% DMG Bonus, while the 4pc further gives 40% CRIT Rate to the set user if they consume 1 Nightsoul point while on-field. This totals to a universally good buff volume for on-field DPS characters from Natlan, as they can easily trigger and maintain the set effects from both the 2pc and 4pc.

Which Characters Can Use Obsidian Codex?

Obsidian Codex is limited to Natlan characters only, as both its 2pc and 4pc effects need the holder to be in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state to trigger. Currently, there are only Mualani and Kinich as the main users of this artifact set. However, Obsidian Codex’s set bonus is so massive that it will likely become the Best-in-Slot (BiS) for many on-field Natlan DPS characters soon to be released.

New Artifact Definition and Extraction Function Overview

traveller electro build

Version 5.0 introduced the Artifact Transmuter, a gadget that provides two artifact-related functions — extraction and definition.

traveller electro build

Artifact Definition consumes a material called Sanctifying Elixir, also introduced in Version 5.0. Using these Elixirs, players can obtain an artifact with a predetermined set, type, main stat, and up to two substats. Elixirs are consumed at the following rates, based on type (the other properties have no effect on Elixir consumption):

Flower of Life

Plume of Death

Sands of Eon

Goblet of Eonothem

Circlet of Logos

Elixirs Consumed

It is important to note that only one artifact of each set can be defined per patch. Because of this, it’s advisable to prioritize defining Goblets over the other pieces, as it is harder to come by those pieces with good substats. In rare cases, players may also consider defining a Sands or Circlet. However, if looking for a Flower / Plume upgrade, it is usually a good idea to farm the Domain or use the Strongbox, as the fixed main stat of those pieces makes them drop with good substats far more often.

Sanctifying Elixirs can be obtained through:

  • Natlan Exploration (including but not limited to the Tona Offering System)
  • Purchasing the Gnostic Hymn tier of the Battle Pass
  • Events like the 2024 Anniversary (which will provide an Elixir through in-game mail)
  • Artifact Extraction

traveller electro build

Artifact Extraction consumes 5-star artifacts of Level 4 or higher and converts them to progress towards a Sanctifying Elixir. You can extract 1 Sanctifying Elixir per patch, and progress obtained from each artifact extracted is calculated based on its level:

Artifact Level

Extraction Progress

Artifact Level + 2

Artifact Level + 6

If only considering the number of 5-star artifacts used, using Lv. 19 or 20 artifacts — roughly four of them in total — would be the most efficient way to extract a Sanctifying Elixir. However, using Lv. 4 artifacts is most efficient in terms of Artifact EXP used. Since it is already common practice to level certain pieces to Lv. 4, usually in search for a good fourth substat, players should have a steady supply of Lv. 4 pieces, which can only be used for the Strongbox or experience at the cost of the other opportunity. Artifact Extraction can thus be seen as less wasteful than both, and thus it is advisable to use Lv. 4 artifacts in it as the best way to dispose of such pieces.

New Craftable Weapons Overview

Natlan’s craftable weapons provide various secondary stats and passives that benefit different types of characters. Weapon descriptions are stated on a range of R1–R5.

DISCLAIMER: The following suggestions are based on early analysis. Please wait for further calculations and testing before investing in billets and ore to craft or refine these weapons.

Flute of Ezpitzal (Sword)

traveller electro build

Base ATK: 454 DEF: 69.0% Using an Elemental Skill increases DEF by 16–32% for 15s.

Flute of Ezpitzal is a good free-to-play option for DEF-scaling Sword users, as DEF% is a rare stat to get from a Sword. This weapon synergizes well with the two current DEF-scaling Sword damage dealers, namely Albedo and Chiori.

Earth Shaker (Claymore)

traveller electro build

Base ATK: 565 ATK: 27.6% After a party member triggers a Pyro-related reaction, the equipping character’s Elemental Skill DMG is increased by 24-48% for 8s. This effect can be triggered even when the triggering party member is not on the field.

Earth Shaker requires a Pyro reaction (Vaporize, Melt, Overloaded, Burning, Burgeon, Pyro Swirl, or Pyro Crystallize) to trigger its passive, so having at least one Pyro character in the team (who can be the weapon holder themself) is a must. The Claymore is best suited to characters who deal good Elemental Skill damage and scale with ATK.

Other craftable weapons such as Tidal Shadow or Prototype Archaic are still better ATK stat sticks if the equipping character does not have their Elemental Skill as a big portion of their damage.

Note that reapplying Dendro or Pyro onto enemies that are currently in the Burning state does not count as triggering a Burning reaction for this weapon passive’s activation. As such, keeping the uptime of Earth Shaker’s passive may be an issue in some Burning teams.

Footprint of the Rainbow (Polearm)

traveller electro build

Base ATK: 510 DEF: 51.7% Using an Elemental Skill increases DEF by 16-32% for 15s.

Footprint of the Rainbow is a good stat stick weapon for Polearm users with DEF scaling, as DEF is a rare stat to get from external sources.

Ring of Yaxche (Catalyst)

traveller electro build

Base ATK: 510 HP: 41.3% Using an Elemental Skill grants the Jade-Forged Crown effect: Every 1,000 Max HP will increase the Normal Attack DMG dealt by the equipping character by 0.6-1% for 10s. Normal Attack DMG can be increased this way by a maximum of 16-32% .

Ring of Yaxche is a strong weapon to increase the Normal Attack damage of HP-scaling Catalyst DPS characters, provided that they use an Elemental Skill not long before their Normal Attack field time. The passive incentivizes building more HP on the holder than usual, but CRIT and DMG% should still have a high stat priority regardless.

Chain Breaker (Bow)

traveller electro build

Base ATK: 565 ATK: 27.6% For every party member from Natlan or who has a different Elemental Type from the equipping character, the equipping character gains 4.8-9.6% increased ATK. When there are no less than 3 of the aforementioned characters, the equipping character gains 24-48 Elemental Mastery.

Chain Breaker gives stats and incentivizes the equipping character to be in a team with Natlan characters or teammates of different Elemental Types from them. Note that the weapon does count its user for one instance of the ATK% buff if the equipping unit is from Natlan themself. With the currently released character roster, a Chain Breaker user can get a maximum of 28.8% ATK and 48 EM from the weapon’s passive (at R5). This makes Chain Breaker a very competitive generalist weapon among its 4-star competitors as a simple stat stick. It is not worth modifying your team just to gain more ATK% increase over other more important teambuilding considerations.

New Event-Exclusive 4-Star Weapon Overview

Ash-graven drinking horn (catalyst).

traveller electro build

Base ATK: 510 HP: 41.3% When an attack hits an opponent, deal AoE DMG equal to 40-80% of Max HP at the target location. This effect can be triggered once every 15s.

Ash-Graven Drinking Horn gives an HP% secondary stat and a passive that deals a notable Physical damage instance based on the user’s Max HP every 15s. Thus, the Catalyst is best used on characters that benefit from building HP. However, the weapon faces stiff competition from Ring of Yaxche and Prototype Amber — two “F2P” options that also offer the same HP% secondary stat and useful passives.

The passive’s damage instance is Physical damage and thus does not benefit from the user’s Elemental DMG Bonus, but it is affected by their Common and Physical DMG Bonus.

Mualani’s signature and Best-in-Slot weapon. The weapon grants the user a good amount of Normal Attack DMG% as long as they can maintain a good interval between each Vaporize reaction proc. Its high CRIT DMG secondary stat makes it a decent stat stick on almost any DPS Catalyst user, while the straightforward HP% buff from the passive gives an incentive for the user to be HP-scaling.
